Realty Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback
Forestar Group Inc. is a real estate, oil and gas, and other natural resources company based in Austin, Texas. The company owns directly or through ventures almost 120,000 acres (49,000 ha) of real estate located in ten states and 13 markets, approximately 590,000 acres of oil and gas mineral interests, and approximately 358,000 net acres of leasehold oil and gas interests.
According to Shareholders Foundation back in July 2017, an investor, who held by then shares of Forestar Group Inc., filed a lawsuit in an effort to halt the proposed takeover of Forestar Group Inc. by affiliates of Starwood Capital Group. The plaintiff alleged that the defendants breached their fiduciary duties owed to NYSE: FOR stockholders by agreeing to sell Forestar Group Inc. cheaply via an unfair process to affiliates of Starwood Capital Group.
Licensed Real Estate Salesperson (Current Employee) says"Management does not care about the success of their agents. Scope Realty operations make me suspect that their main source of income are the new agents' dues."
Licensed Real Estate Agent (Current Employee) says"I have been working here for six months. I gave Scope a $500 deposit at the beginning, hoping to see it back within 2 months. After over 60 showings, six months later I have yet to make a single deal. I see myself as a terrific real estate agent and most of these units are stunning. It costs $100 in desk fees every month so I am losing money working for Scope. It is unbelievably stressful and making my life extremely difficult. I am really hoping things change because I cannot keep doing this. I was so excited to sign on when I saw I could potentially make $60k a year but that is clearly not the case. That being said, the people who work here are amazing, everyone wants you to succeed. Everyone is incredibly helpful and always just a phone call away. I just want to start ACTUALLY earning money. I know it's possible. It just needs to happen now."
Sales Agent (Former Employee) says"The fees are ridiculous for any agents who want to start in real estate. First, there is a $100 desk per a month and $500 deposit lol. Trust me, many firms in NYC are fee FREE and no deposit. The worst thing is that I was told the day of my training that there is a new policy, which requires a $500 deposit.I am sorry that you were not happy with Scope Realty. As a company we strive to provide you with the best training and work environment to do your job. The $500 deposit is refundable upon closing your 3rd transaction with the company. Not only do you get your refund back but you get a $400 bonus on top of your deposit back. Any reputable firm has monthly or yearly fees, and if they don't they often times offer much lower splits. We want to wish you the best of luck moving forward."
Receptionist and Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) says"The environment was typically fast pace but it was nothing I couldn’t handle. I Learned a lot of useful skills such as customer service, attention to details and good communication skills. I enjoyed working with a team and I felt that the energy of the environment motivated me to come to work everyday"
