In the United States, a pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) is a third-party administrator of prescription drug programs for commercial health plans, self-insured employer plans, Medicare Part D plans, the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program, and state government employee plans.

Samantha Liss for Health Care Dive mentioned how Express Scripts faces lawsuit alleging it overcharged Ohio public pension fund, "Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost is going after another pharmacy benefit manager in court. This time, Yost is alleging Express Scripts overcharged the Ohio Highway Patrol Retirement System, a public pension fund, and pocketed millions. Ohio has been cracking down on PBM practices, which led the state to ending the practice of spread pricing, a tactic that has become increasingly controversial. State lawmakers also mandated that the state move to one single PBM as an attempt to better safeguard state dollars, but it has yet to happen. The lawsuit is another step in pushing for more PBM transparency in Ohio."

"I just packed products like Pokemon cards took things off the line. I learned that you have to mind your business and get your work done. Management there was always on site and welling to work with us. Co-workers worked hard and did what they had to do to get the job done. The hardest part of the job was the 12 hour shift. The most enjoyable part of the job is doing the work and putting them in boxes so they can be shipped off. Cons: short breaks"

"Had a terrible experience here. Unfortunately the laboratory manager will do anything to make herself look good; often at the expense of other people. If you aren’t in the clique here you get frozen out. Very high turnover due to the awful work environment. Cons: Poor work environment"

"Terrible. Your position would be vacation replacement and you will never have a consistent schedule or location 😒. You may work one day a week and not know when the next time you go into work. It’s not enough pay for the work that they require. Cons: Inconsistent scheduling and not enough pay"

"Though the job was easy, the owner was verbally abusive. The manager was a gossiper and never followed through on anything. There was a lot of favorites. Cons: Bad owner and management"

"I worked for the company on a full time temp basis off and on for about 3-5 years and my pay rate in the beginning was 14.00$ hrly and then during my last hure in 2015 i realize that the pay rate decrease from 14-12$ hrs with no room for advancement or the opportunity to become permanent at one of the assigned luxury property. I loved the opportunity given but was simply too stressful for the pay rate and hours. Cons: No benefits."

"It's a place to get a job if you don't want to advance and work with managers that have favorites. Only 1 break and lot of drama amongst coworkers. Pay sucks and the environment isn't clean. Dust and dirt everywhere. Ask why the corporate office President left to seek employment elsewhere...basically every one left to go work for Terry Pegram because he's more knowledgeable about retain good people."
