A upset former employee said this in a review about the work environment "I have never been lied to by management as much as I have working for Illinois Tool Works. This is a company that is all about greed. Hourly employees have to ask permission over the radio to use the restroom, its ridiculous!"
Former Employee - Administrative Assistant says"If they want to get rid of you, they will either A. Hire someone to work under you, give them a new title and eliminate your position or B Destroy your self esteem with horrible reviews that no matter what you say, or how hard you work, will never get better, then put you on a "performance plan" that is basically 99% chance of them having "justifiable cause for termination". Theft runs rampant and they refused to install cameras because if they did, it would show they didn't"trust" their employees. Its a dog eat dog environment. Don't trust anyone, especially in HR."
Former Employee - Manager says"Human Resources discriminates and is not fair"
Former Employee - Manager says"Racist company. They are old and backwards."

Former Employee - Shipping Manager says"Horrible upper management. No concrete foundation, no structure, no official training procedures, no support towards success, and s very stressful environment that is caused by the persons running the facility. Both are closet racist, that talk down to any minority during any type of conversation. The turnover rate for seasoned employees has reached disrespectful numbers."
Current Employee - Anonymous Employee says"GM lacks character, trust, and vision. He is a puppet to ITW corporate and will deter/back-stab anyone with more potential and vision than him, which puts us all at a virtual stand-still. That also creates a toxic culture and a bunch of "yes" staff. Promotion is very limited except to those yes people; if you are over 40 then forget about it."
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"This company has the worst recruiters. Recruiters need better communication skills."
Engineering Lab Technician (Former Employee) says"For most of my time here, I didn't feel like I was a valued part of the company, just a tool to be used, mistreated, and underappreciated. There was never any communication from management, and I was given no way to communicate with anyone. The tasks I was assigned were so physically straining that it was painful for my back and legs. The working conditions were very poor, including being loud, unorganized, and no air conditioning with little air circulation. Safety is not taken seriously.NoneLow pay, Poor working conditions, Poor management, No communication"

I've learned that they will change things at the spare of the moment and they do have poor management. Safety isn't a top priority when working and if injured they never show concern.
