Drury Gold Key Club Sucks. Drury Hotels Company, LLC is an American hospitality company which operates a chain of mid-scale limited service hotels under the brands Drury Inn and Suites (its flagship brand), Drury Inn, Drury Suites, Drury Plaza Hotel, and Pear Tree Inn. As of 2018, the chain operates more than 150 locations in 25 states. It is wholly owned by the Drury family and is headquartered in metropolitan St. Louis.

Blondie 2TX from Houston was terribly disappointed from a Drury Gold Key Member ans she shares some thoughts in a review written for TRIP ADVISOR: "First let me say I am a fan of the Drury chain and a Gold Key Member so I am writing this review with mixed emotions. I chose this hotel based on my experience with Drury and the exceptional reviews on Trip Advisor (Drury Plaza is rated #2 out of over 300 hotels in San Antonio). I truly am not one of those picky everything has to be perfect travelers. My main concern is it must be clean and certainly that I get what I am paying for. Now on for the good and bad of this hotel. First, I was truly excited when I booked the Drury Plaza on the Riverwalk. Great reviews (gorgeous pictures on website), on the Riverwalk and close to the Alamodome where we were attending my daughter's college graduation. I recommended the Plaza to family and friends that were also coming to San Antonio for this event, so we had numerous rooms at this hotel. Valet parking is steep (18+tax) and only one vehicle per room is allowed. This was expected as it is stated when you book the room. All hotels on the Riverwalk charge, so this is not out of the ordinary. The complimentary Hot Fast Start Breakfast and evening reception with cocktails and food are an exceptional perk! Very large and clean dining area and fantastic friendly staff. Spicy Bloody Mary's were awesome (and free)! Hotel lobby is huge and quite nicely adorned. A mix of old and new combined beautifully. I booked a two room suite with Jacuzzi tub and terrace and confirmed there would be 4 individuals staying in this room. I paid more for these amenities so was expecting a phenomenal room just as fitting as the hotel lobby. With my senior discount, I still paid $170 + taxes/night. Unfortunately here is where I must state the not so good facts. It seems this hotel has extended into another building (San Fernando Towers) and the trek to our room on the 11th floor was a bit lengthy. From the lobby toting luggage and luggage carriers we took the elevator to the 6th floor. At the 6th floor you traveled a long corridor and up ramps to another elevator on the 7th floor. That elevator took you to the 11th floor. Now at our much anticipated room #1153. Very spacious, clean comfy beds! Nice bathroom with large Jacuzzi tub!!! Huge ceilings (at least 10-12' tall) with DRAPERY CLAD wall entirely of windows and door to terrace. Double pullout sofa and side chairs. Jacuzzi tub did not work and it took 4 phone calls and treks to front desk and 18 hrs before it was repaired. Front desk did refund my 2 days of parking for this inconvenience. It seems the "wand" for the very tall/long drapes was missing so in order to open them to get to the terrace door you had to physically tug and pull the drapes until you could get to the door opening..truly thought we were going to rip the drapes or pull them off of the wall. The terrace had a lovely eye level view of the diry white industrial rooftop of the adjacent building. Yes you could see beyond it and had that not have been there, it would have been a nice view. One of the side chairs was torn on the arm. Certainly not what I was expecting of a Drury property. A minor issue was the wall mounted door knob stop....one in our party touched it and it fell off. We had 4 confirmed occupants and only 3 washcloths. Only one small bottle of shampoo and it was not replenished by housekeeping on day 2 (fortunately we had purchased some when we went out for dinner). One of our family in another room asked if our room smelled good....she said hers smelled of ...ugh hate saying this "urine". The rooftop hot tub by the pool was unoperable. The other rooftop hot tub was great! Numerous instances combined to make this an unsatisfactoryDrury stay. Just terribly disappointed in what I was anticipating on being a tremendous stay for this wonderful celebration."
