Web of knowledge Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

Web of Science (previously known as Web of Knowledge) is a website that provides subscription-based access to multiple databases that provide comprehensive citation data for many different academic disciplines. It was originally produced by the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) and is currently maintained by Clarivate Analytics.

Web of Science has disadvantage in the databases because it lacks some of the search tools, Charlotte B. Royeen published some thoughts about it on sciencedirect.com

"Scopus and web of science There are two large, multidisciplinary bibliographic citation databases, Scopus and Web of Science, which cover the journal literature in a broad array of scientific, medical, and social sciences journals, including the humanities. These databases require a paid subscription and they can be used for subject searching and for cited-reference searching—that is, for retrieving articles that cite a particularly relevant reference article or to view the cited references of a relevant article. The benefit to using these broader databases is that one search will retrieve articles from many different subject disciplines, which is beneficial for occupational therapy because the knowledge base of the profession covers or relates to so many disciplines and fields of study, and because it saves time for the searcher. The disadvantage is that these databases lack some of the search tools—for example, the “explosion” of subject terms in the thesaurus and the ability to designate subject terms as a major focus of the article—that the MEDLINE and CINAHL databases provide. When preparing a literature review or performing a comprehensive database search for evidence related to client care, it is best to use multiple databases that cover the literature related to the topic to reduce the chance of missing relevant article citations."

Former Employee - ESL Senior Teacher says

"I worked at Web International English full-time for more than a year Cons: The company is now bankrupt. The owner funnelled money to fake companies and then disappeared. As a result, workers didn't get paid for month. Yet they kept lying. Even the management screwed everyone over. Disgusting people."

"I worked at Web International English full-time for less than a year Cons: Useless leadership that were unqualified and lacking in basic common sense. They were hiring people illegally and started offering children's classes in the hopes of making easy money, despite not having the skills or resources to accommodate them. If you are in Chongqing, don't even bother going to the new one. You'll receive no assistance in getting a VISA or setting up a bank account. Place is run by clueless fools."

"I worked at Web International English full-time for less than a year Cons: - Constantly lied to by employers - Outdated materials - Poor management - Company went bankrupt, and I was not paid 1 months salary as a result. Apparently all of the Chinese staff at my centre had not been paid for 3 months, I only found out about this when there was suddenly a strike, shortly before the company went bankrupt."

Former Employee - Human Resources Specialist says

"I worked at Web International English full-time Cons: The company was going bankrupt at the HQ level. The upper management took out massive loans and funneled the money into their personal accounts in mid 2019. Both the Chinese and foreign staff was unpaid for months. Some of the owners were arrested in the Beijing region. The Shanghai region's leaders must of paid off the right officials because they got away scot-free. In any other country, they would have all been jailed and forced to recompense employees, both domestic and foreign. Some of the language center branches and franchises re-branded under dozens of different names and continued operation locally. Some were even doing well enough to shelter their teachers from the fallout, but sadly, most were not."
