The Villa Group is one of the largest business entities in the Maldives. The holding company Villa Shipping and Trading Company Pvt. Ltd is a private conglomerate which is amongst the largest private business in the Maldives with major operations in Shipping, Import and Export, General Trade and Tourism, fishing, media, communication, transport and education related Businesses. Foundation of Villa Group can be traced back to 1986 when Qasim Ibrahim registered a Shipping and Trading company named 'Villa', the common trade name.

Timesharescam.com mentioned the most common Villa Group Timeshare complaints, "This is a list of the most common complaints that we have received from purchasers of the Villa Group timeshare: At the airport, you are offered a free trip as long as you attend a timeshare presentation. When you arrived to any resort of the VG timeshare, the timeshare salespeople load you up with Champagne and lots of false promises, and before you know it, you buy a timeshare. They force you sign the timeshare agreement under the influence of alcohol. If you try to cancel when you realize that you were forced to sign the contract, they just ignore you until your rescission period has expired. Timeshare salespeople at VG timeshare don’t tell buyers that they have 5 days period to cancel their timeshare contract. They say you can make timeshare exchanges with other timeshare owners, but there are clients that never were able to do such a thing. If you already own a timeshare, they promise you to sell your old timeshare, but at the end you own two timeshares. Timeshare maintenance fees increase every year. Customer service at VG timeshare is totally awful, they never answer the phone. If you had a problem with your timeshare, they tell you can fix it by paying up whatever fee. They charge timeshare fees for everything. They say that have a VG timeshare is a lifetime investment, but a timeshare is NEVER a good investment. These are just a few complaints about this fraudulent developer, there are many more. People need to be aware of this fraudulent practice at Villa Group timeshare."

"Westland Nursing and rehabilitation is the worst place in the world to work for Run.I thought by now every CNA in Michigan would have worked there or new someone that used to work there .The scheduling and Managers are the worst dont waste your time or energy .You know this place is bad when even the temporary aides that are making 8 dollars more than there staff work 1 shift and never return . Trust me there are way to many places hiring to waste time at this dirty place Cons: No breaks awful management"

"This place should be shut down!!! It’s nasty, they move patients in rooms that haven’t been cleaned. Do not compensate employees for lunch breaks its impossible to take. They are always short staffed. As a COVID positive facility they do a poor job informing employees of COVID positive patients. Supplies are never available. Hostile and stressful work environment. They serve residents trash for meals as well. Very minimal training for positions Cons: Short staffed, COVID positive, Overworked, High turnover, Dirty facility, Supplies always unavailable, Hostile staff"

"Literally the worst place I have ever stepped foot in. Management does not care even a little about the residents. Management bullies staff and it is allowed to happen. HR does nothing. Resident rights are not respected and residents are not treated even remotely well. Anyone who speaks up against the treatment of the residents (or staff) gets let go. DO NOT WORK HERE. DO NOT PLACE A LOVED ONE HERE. This place should be shut down. Cons: everything else"

"Worst company I ever worked for. The neglect of residents is so terrible. Definitely would not recommend putting a loved one in this facility. Staff especially aides treated poorly and over worked. Very unfriendly atmosphere. Managers unqualified and never willing to help. Unsafe patient to staff ratio also against state guidelines. Infection control nonexistent. Staff very unfriendly. Morally I had to leave and find employment else where due to conditions. Cons: Everything stated above, plus more."

"They are very terrible. They took my offer letter back because the administrator “claimed” I was asleep during orientation when everybody in orientation vouched for me it was a different young lady. When I asked to speak to her so my witnesses could help clear my name she refused. I felt very disrespected!!! Cons: None"

"Villa does not care about their employees. They over work you and under pay you. They expect you to work 7 days a week and don’t care that you need a day off. Company was ran so much better under Mr Bortz. You were treated like family. Villa sees that a facility has a good team and is working well together and comes in and starts firing people and making the building fail"

"This place is a death trap for patients, or more like sad inmates. Why hasn't the state shut this place down and help the poorly served patients? I feel so terribly sad for them! They're left in wheel chairs and sit for hours in dirty adult diapers until it soaks their pants. Cons: Everything"

"I had the privilege of working for Villa Healthcare in multiple locations of Minnesota. Why? it was because I was told I was good at everything I do. However, they really just needed a body to fill the position. While I believe the company as a whole is going places, maybe, they tend to keep managers around that are demeaning to their employees. There is one director of nursing that still works there that feels the need to tell her employees that if they don't like it there, they can find somewhere else to work.... WHAT?! There are other DONs and administrators that continuously tell their management team that they will get the time back from annual surveys, OHFC surveys, and FPRs. Well that is a complete joke because they literally will not let you take the time off to make up for that. People get sick, and they try to not call in because they feel so guilty because they weren't at work to hold their bosses hand. NOT TO MENTION, my boss was conveniently not at work on my last day, and had a tendency to treat employees that gave their notice with so much disrespect. I mean COME ON. I was in a role where I would never have no growth potential or the option to get a raise and when I find something with growth potential they make me feel so guilty. So when you are looking for a job, ask yourself this question: Is this company going to care about me as an employee? Well the answer is, ABSOLUTELY NOT."

"I dedicated my time to this place for almost 5 years. Picking up shifts always staying over because there was no staff. So I finally ended up going CASUAL. Which means I work when they needed someone and if I could. (Which was all the time.) I was also working another job at the time and pregnant. They were trying to demand me to work a Saturday when I was already scheduled and my now main job. And when I said no the DON got real nasty with me and pretty much told me to go work somewhere else. I was only there to help THEM out. I could care less about having two jobs. I will never go back and I will never recommend such a place to work. Also I got one raise in 5 years for being there. Never again"

"Physical environment horrible and residents do not receive any basic care on daily basis. Management ignores staff reports of unsafe conditions and unmet needs of residents. Schedules go out with not even a nurse available and administration bullies employees by mandating double shifts to cover or they will report you to board of nursing for“abandonment”. They still accept in, residents even though they do not have the staffing to care for them."

"I worked there as a staff nurse. There is Nothing positive to say about working there. Patient care was abyssal. No raises. Very high employee turnover rate. People they hire will quit one or two days after working there. Every day there was limited supplies and no working equipment available. I assume management expect us to bring our own basic supplies like BP cuffs, thermometers, and stethoscopes."

Villa is just a temporary job to work at until you find something better."

"I worked at Villa full-time Cons: There were not a ton of great lunch options nearby. Additionally, most employees ate at their desks, as opposed to lunch being a time for any sort of social interaction. More seriously, the office as a whole felt dilapidated and needed a thorough cleaning as well as carpets and furniture replaced. The company culture was very gloomy as a lot of employees seemed disappointed due to the recent acquisition of Villa by DTLR. A large number of Villa employees have been laid off in the past year. It seems that DTLR is choosing to strictly have Villa operate the e-commerce side of the business which leaves the large Philadelphia Villa office mostly empty, since DTLR remains headquartered in Hanover, MD."

Profanity and inappropriate language is normal around the office. Gossip is shared from higher executives to other team members causing high school drama. No training strategy for new hires. No clear vision or guidance from management. Unfair pay (Pay is based on personal interest in the employee instead of experience or level). High turn over rate based on unprofessional environment and managers. Check out the company's employee history and financial status before applying!!!"
