IT (Former Employee) says

"I would not recommend working in the IT department, my colleagues were really nice but the management/director team are not and don't really have a clue at what they are doing, There is a lot of blame culture. I know a lot of people who have left due to stress and nothing gets done about bullying if you complain you are made to leave by HR."

Labourer (Former Employee) says

"safety talk first thing in the morning , then spent most of the day hauling refractory out of the burner , very hard work but when bending and lifting properly makes for a good work out . Had to wear top of t he line safety equipment full face masks , drink plenty of fluids and take breaks ,worked really well with all my co-workers and looked out for each other by taking turns shoveling or lifting and ensuring breaks. Lunch breaks were a great part of working the working day because we all work very hard and would absolutely rotten and would share some good laughs at lunch. Cons: i didnt like this company ."

Lab Technician (Former Employee) says

"The actual work was cool. The lab is extremely crowded (not even enough parking spaces for employees), the lab manager lacks professionalism (I never received a straight answer on any question, just a lot of room from him to be able to claim the opposite if there was ever any blow back), and there is no room for advancement as a tech. Cons: Everything Else"

"Old guard have all the say so in any changes. Once gave my opinion to plant manager and his exact response was you haven't been here long enough to form an opinion. Needless to say less than 3 months later that very thing I brought up became part of the norm. Cons: No HR on site, opinion is not encouraged"

Batcher-Forklift Operator (Current Employee) says

"I give Vesuvius a two star rating based solely on being able to pay your bills with our hourly pay. There is absolutely no incentive to work there because there is no room for advancement and also no job security due to constant lay offs. Management doesn't seem to understand what it really takes to accomplish the goals for a normal work day simply because they don't understand the job themselves and make it more stressful upon the employees Cons: benefits are less than subpar, no retirement plan, and one 20 min lunch break in an extremely physical environment"

Sales (Current Employee) says

"It's a good starter job to get into the industry top is is kinda low since there is a budget. Over time comes and goes. If you're scheduled to work a holiday you have no choice, comes with the territory. Will learn a lot if you have the drive to Cons: Pay"
