Valvoline Inc. is an American manufacturer and distributor of Valvoline-brand automotive oil, additives, and lubricants. It also owns the Valvoline Instant Oil Change and Valvoline Express Care chains of car repair centers. As of 2016, it is the second largest oil change service provider in the United States with 10% market share and 1,050 locations.

Kathy shares her frustrating experience on cunsumeraffairs.com, "After getting an oil change & a full system cleaning service at Valvoline. I drove at least 10 minutes away & my car started driving slow & I heard a clicking & knocking noise coming from my hood, thank god I made it to a gas station to park it safely. I called the manager Keith that called the technician who did not put enough amount of oil in my car & got the run-around. A lot of people at the gas station was trying to tell the tech that the line on the engine line was at the tip, he just wanted to pour my oil that he bought from the Valvoline on capital in my car. I’m without a car & received rude service form the Tech. I woke up this morning to see how my car sounds and it sounds worst, I had to take a Lyft to work on top of being late. My car was not shaking nor knocking when I drove there, what am I supposed to do about transportation because of the carelessness of a new technician that probably was not trained properly."

"Management is nothing but a bureaucracy, cant stop jerking their employees around. Frequently understaffed on days where we need people, scheduling is always chaotic and never done right. Breaks are delayed cause the schedule is frequently messed up, if you are lucky enough to even get a break."

"Where to start? For the majority of my employment history I have worked at the Bremerton, WA location where I started as a regular tech and was able to move up to a Senior tech which involves being a Pit Tech, a Customer Service Representative, and a Hood Tech. I was recently relocated to another store in the area in Belfair, WA which has cons in different areas (I'll get to that). In Bremerton, work ethic tends to be above average and the team atmosphere, though flawed in communication at times, is what we all can recognize, as a family. We argue but the majority of us have each others' back when it gets busy. Trust me, it gets HOT and BUSY. Although the work side of it decent, the manager does not fail to prove to be a lying, uptight, hypocritical maniac who will tell you something to your face and talk about you to everyone behind your back. If you are someone who wants to work to move up and actually try to give your all, this is not the place for you because you will be overlooked if you are not part of the 'group' or the manager's pet. Although the other store I work at also struggles with this issue, the work ethic fails! There is an extreme lack of order and leadership that surprisingly makes it's appearance only when there is a big boss coming around the corner. Valvoline tells you to point out safety tips and make work safe and fun. But it's hard to do that when all the team does is try to be a cocky clown act. Management knows what needs to be done but chooses not to do it."

"No social distancing whatsoever no way to keep you away from within 6 feet of anybody in that place !!If you’re just there to work, it’s ok. The Manager their, if you’re not his little buddy, you get treated like dirt! "I’ve worked at Valvoline for over 3 years. They promised promotions and raises at great work experience and no late nights. BULL! This place works you like a dog and pays you hardly anything. The only way to make any decent money is to work 100+ hours a pay cycle. They expect you to work 12 hour days with only 1, 30 minute break in 100+ degree weather. And with all of this COVID19 stuff going on they make us take a mandatory quarantine if someone in the store comes in contact with someone who has it. They tell us that everyday on quarantine we will be compensated for. WRONG they just tell you that to make you come back afterwards. This is a terrible company that does not care about the well being of their hourly employees and only cares about money. I definitely will never recommend anyone to ever work here.They do offer health insuranceLong days, bad pay, work 7 days a week, never home"

"You will learn how to air up tires and spray fluids into cars while getting pressured to move up the company ladder. You will have to push aggressive sales tactics on customers when you reach higher levels of training. Most of the things you are programmed to say customers is fake technical jargon to confuse the average person into blindly assuming that the thing they are purchasing is required. Cool oil burns, permanently stained hands, co-workers are normally convictedHigher management is turned over every 6 months, no ppe, aggresive sales tactics"

"I worked for surfside enterprise which is a franchise and not corporate. I am hoping corporate treats their employees better. The area manager allowed upper management to harass, bully and retaliate against other employees. When brought to the area managers attention he makes it out to be your fault. Managers are out for themselves and don’t care about helping their workers.NonePoor management, lots of harassment and retaliation."

"My time with Valvoline was very short. Not because I'm lazy or unmotivated or unreliable or anything like that. It's because this is by far the absolute worst company I've ever worked for! Management constantly micromanages the living will out of you and drives you insane. You have to yell at the top of your lungs everything you do and sometimes repeat multiple times because management is more deaf than a WW2 war veteran. They advertise quick raises once computer training is done but when 50 cars come in each day you will never finish that up so advancement is a joke. Management also sits over your shoulder and waits for you to do the slightest thing wrong so they can belittle the snot out of you right in front of the customer. If you're interested in the automotive business work else where. Also, don't take your car there for service, literally anybody is allowed to work on the cars there and half of them don't know what they are even supposed to do."

"Valvoline lives off of hiring people that know very little to nothing about vehicles. If you have a good knowledge then your gonna feel like a God here but have no use for Valvoline as they don't do anything other than trick customers into services not generally needed. Managers steal deposits and tend to pocket money on a regular basis. Most of your co-workers will consist of Ex-cons and highschool/college youth that come in high and useless."

"Poor management they dnt do nothing for there employees but expect employees to go above and beyond for them with nothing they dnt have enough employees to handle the work properly the manager sleeps all day but expects us to do everything by book the owner is cheap and dnt do a dam thing for the employees summer time is he'll there because there's no proper cooling system. "Work hard and you'll get higher pay as long as you do what needs to be done and worry about you eveything will be ok. Just make sure you do your best to stand out because your hardest might not be enough.."

"The store Manager at the New Windsor location needs to learn how to take time to train instead of making excuses about why he cant then in the same breath saying that he has to do it all. If you trained your staff correctly you wouldn't have so much on your plate."

"After following proper protocol of the policy handbook I end getting fired for reporting someone that had said f*ck all muslims. How? The workers was very rude since I first started. Angel and the district manager don didnt do nothing about it after reporting it. They allow harrassment on the job. The workers also be drinking on the job."
