Univar Solutions Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

Univar Solutions is a global chemical and ingredients distributor and provider of value-added services which works with leading suppliers worldwide. The company was founded in 1924 as Van Waters & Rogers. It was also formerly known as Royal Vopak and later Univar. The company changed its name to Univar Solutions following the acquisition of Nexeo Solutions in 2019.

An ex employee wrote: I have been working at Univar Solutions full-time for more than a year. Terrible management and they don't care about their people. They treat you worse than they pay you. They will micromanage the smallest responsibilities in your job. Don't expect respect or automomy here. They won't have your back if there are bad accounts that shouldn't be on your roster. They talk down to their employees. HR is a joke and definitely doesn't care about the employee. I am looking to leave this place the first chance I get.

Lead Hand (Former Employee) says

"Not a good company, they don’t care for the employees & the pay is way too low for the type of chemicals they handle. They won’t move you up they will have you fill that position until they find a someone cheaper"

ADR Driver (Former Employee) says

"I have been working at Univar Solutions full-time 03/2020 for less than a year. I met some nice people there, but management is one big failure by capital F. Cons: Discrimination and unequal treatment is a problem for the Ireland branch"

N/A (Former Employee) says

"A completely abusive work environment in one department. It's only two leaders within one team there, but it to seeps through the morale of the rest of the team ... no one will speak up about it and no one will do anything about it. Disgusting and shameful."

Material Handler/Machine Operator (Current Employee) says

"The job not bad it's just the upper management....never treated fair always get mislead about money like bonus and raises....They don't care about our work environment..."

Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) says

"I worked for univar for almost ten years with numerous issues . I was being bullied at work which was from two other ladies I never brought up there issues but these two women did . I was in a very bad abusive relationship and my father took his life so I went on stress leave for two weeks and got fired . I would never recommend the company to anyone . Numerous people have been written up for no reason !"

Driver/Warehouse (Former Employee) says

"Worst company I have ever worked for plant manager is a puppet supervisors tell plant manager what to do the plant manager walks around the facility with a push broom wow the supervisors sit back at their desk and look at eBay and Facebook on company computers Dispatcher plant manager managers all have their own favorite employees there is too much favoritism going around at UNIVAR SOLUTIONS Carson they teach and preach safety but they do not abide by it"

Accounting (Current Employee) says

"I regret leaving my previous position. You will be micromanaged by Managers that walk around all day to make sure you're working. Diversity & Inclusion is not something that is promoted here. It is so awkward. I wished I had more support from my manager. I feel like I'm in prison instead. Most of the department is seeking employment elsewhere."

Senior Paralegal (Current Employee) says

"Employees are disposable, no work life balance, incompetent managers, everyone is unhappy since they took over Nexeo Solutions and are looking for work elsewhere"

Indirect Procurement (Former Employee) says

"Management never knows what you do, but they have a degree so they can talk down to you and treat you like poo. The turnover here is so high that it should tell you all you need to know. HR is run by a lawyer so don't think there is any ACTUAL Human Resources here... it is all about the loopholes that they can find to cheat their employees. Cons: you will hate your life, be over worked and possibly verbally abused"

N/A (Former Employee) says

"Too much red tape, too much Board of Directors politics, sad to say still an ol' boys club. No opportunity for advancement. Avoid at all cost.Trying to be a Google environment - total failure. Keep looking."

AP Analyst & Master Data Manager (Former Employee) says

"The company was only focused on moving the company to Chicago while treating the Redmond based employees as expendable commodities. Low pay, low employee morale, poor opportunities for career advancement. Cons: Various"

"Work life balance is terrible and the management. Very stressful, the only good thing are your co-workers and the customers but not enough to keep you."

"I'm currently a contractor that is promised to get hired on. I work for S&C Electric Company thru Nexeo, hired on from temp agency HireLevel. Cons: None"

Customers Service Representative (Former Employee) says

"People seem to be way overloaded with work. People are very nice and seem to get along well and work well together. Almost my entire training class was let go after 2 weeks of training and 3 days with a mentor and we were told this was due to "Budget Cuts"."

Paralegal (Current Employee) says

"The people are what make this company tick. Sadly, they have no clue of this reality. No chance of promotion, just more low level work that doesn't pertain to your job description, job duty changes without warning, many supervisors (who seem to come and go frequently). I think I heard it put accuraly on Glass Door..."where careers go to die." Cons: Lack of experience, respect, wisdom and integrity in management"

MATERIAL HANDLER (Former Employee) says

"not a safe place to work. poorly managed. No opportunity for advancement. hostile work environment and favoritism shown by management. with no incentives"

Operations (Former Employee) says

"Management here is all talk and no action. Nexeo is all about complaining and chaos, but refuses to do anything to make it better. They act like its temporary that you are covering multiple functions due to high turnover, but its not temporary... Its expected that you do more for less, and oh by the way...you won't accrue vacations anymore so that they don't owe you PTO anymore! Insurance benefits aren't any good either. Too much bad to list here. Cons: All of the managers"

Warehouse Worker (Former Employee) says

"They have good people working there. They pay you a decent wage. They take the time to train you correctly. They provide you uniforms and they provide you work boots Cons: To far"
