The University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) is a nonprofit consortium of more than 100 colleges and universities providing research and training in the atmospheric and related sciences. UCAR manages the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) and provides additional services to strengthen and support research and education through its community programs. Its headquarters, in Boulder, Colorado, include NCAR's Mesa Laboratory, designed by I.M. Pei.

UCAR was established in 1959 by faculty from 14 leading universities to support and nourish the atmospheric sciences. They were motivated by a newly recognized need for pooled observational and computational facilities and a strong research staff, which together would allow the academic community to carry out complex, long-term scientific programs beyond the reach of individual universities.

A upset former employee said this in a review about the work environment "UCAR salaries do not keep up with the cost of living. Cuts in Federal funding for Science, over many years, has resulted in staff shortages and employees who are over-worked trying to do more with less resources. Management is dis-functional and ineffective. The culture is poor and the work environment is unhealthy. Staff moral is at an all time low and management is doing little to improve things."

"Never ever trust this company or Super Shuttle Tampa. They left my family including 3 kids stranded at Tampa airport on January 2nd. When I called to find out where our driver was, customer service told me they no longer offer car service in Tampa and my reservation was cancelled. Since when?! They are still advertising on Google and I never received the cancellation email they claim to have sent on New Year's Eve. Because sending an email on a holiday with no follow up is a great way to run a business. These people are a scam. Do not give them any sort of payment information."

"We booked our car 2 weeks out, before our trip. Got picked up to go to the airport, but then when we got back we were told our car was CANCELLED! Cancelled. On Christmas Eve. At Los Angeles Airport. The lady who initially answered was rude, didn’t seem to give a sh%# at all. Told me “you canceled it”. I did NOT cancel my ride that would take me to my house an hour and a half-3 hours away, depending on traffic. I will admit I called her a Profanity, I am so unbelievably mad. It wasn’t right of me To do that, but this company left two people stranded at LAX with ZERO notice on Christmas Eve. I called back immediately, the lady hung up on my husband and said she didn’t “appreciate being cursed at.” Kept calling. Call was hung up on twice before I finally was sent to the overall reservation department. This woman was much friendlier. She Ended up telling the EXECUCAR CANCELLED OUR CAR BECAUSE THEY DIDN’T HAVE ENOUGH CARS YESTERDAY! YESTERDAY! I did NOT get any sort of notification about this cancelation! NOTHING! Thank God for Uber."

"I booked 2 months in advance, When I found out plane delayed I called them to notify. They told me not to worry. The driver checked the flight. When we landed at lax no driver. Called I was on hold for 20 minutes. Dispatcher asked my name put me on hold another 10 minutes. Then gentleman said our plane was ontime driver took another lift. He was wrong knew it. Here are 2 70 year old ladies at lax 8:00 pm. no umber or lift app. Which is needed for a ride. Did they care NO. I wished I would of looked at reviews Im out 90 Dollars. They will not contact me about refund."

"I wish I'd read the reviews. Pre-ordered and stupidly paid for a black town car pick up from JFK to my hotel. Driver called on an unlisted number so I wasn't able to call them back that I was waiting outside where they had requested I met them. Over 45 mins and no show, I had to get a taxi to my hotel room. Emailed them immediately requesting a refund and got a text message they were ready to collect me? This was 3hrs after the requested time. Avoid this company! After reading other reviews I'm doubtful I will receive my refund."
