There was always a shortage of everything, We often scrambled for nails, screws, plywood, 2x4's generators , power tools and batteries, revised drawings if they where right at all! ! After all my personal tools got stolen, which took almost 2 months to replace never helped Restore respect or elevate my opinion of the company. Way to heavy at the top and so many engineers with NO experience, The budget is through the roof!! Should I say anymore? Cons: Nothing to build or work with"

Overloaded with dead weight support staff friends of the CEO. No sexism or racism allowed but bully staff as much as you like!"

Current Employee - Principal Project Leader says"I have been working at TWI full-time for more than 10 years Cons: TWI competes with other R&D centres nationally and worldwide, however when it comes to strategy and people management TWI is sadly lacking well behind others. High functioning engineers and scientists deserve much better treatment than we are giving them. They don't deserve the “mafia” bullying type culture from the senior and middle management that exists here. By changing this we would move from living off and peddling past successes and go back to generating great innovators again. Employee loyalty is so easily forsaken for profit, it’s drip drip effect that erodes the foundations of TWI, which were built up over past decades. Playing on the high living costs of Cambridge and the cheap newly graduated workforce. Shame."

Also, there was very little compensation and very little communication from management. Answer to questions were very hard to get. There was very little upward mobility as most positions above entry level were outside hires"
Current Employee - Project Leader says"I have been working at TWI full-time for more than 3 years Cons: No actual technology exploitation, end-products of projects ending up in shelves or used as paper-weights. Many projects leading nowhere due to unrealistic proposals/objectives. Staff are so work-loaded they don't have time to learn anything. No cross-section work. No training. No career progression. Not many experienced people left to mentor junior staff. No faith in upper management's ability to lead the company or the stats and figures they show."
