Tourtel beer was originally brewed by the brothers Jules and Prosper Tourtel in Tantonville. When it was taken over in 1986, it was further brewed by the French brewery Kronenbourg. Since 1991, the beers for the Belgian market have been brewed by Alken-Maes.
Tourtel beer has a huge bitter and sour taste, it has no head and no subsequent lacing and the nose is floury, according to TheBrewo at beeradvocate.com
