Textron Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

Textron Inc. is an American industrial conglomerate based in Providence, Rhode Island. Textron's subsidiaries include Arctic Cat, Bell Helicopter, Textron Aviation (which itself includes the Beechcraft, Hawker and Cessna brands), and Lycoming Engines. It was founded by Royal Little in 1923 as the Special Yarns Company. In 2018, Textron employed over 37,000 people worldwide. The company ranked 208th on the 2018 Fortune 500 of the largest United States corporations by revenue.

A former employee said this in a review “ Textron has very poor recruiting, poor management, poor team lead, employees purposely get others fired. HR based out of Georgia. Easy to screw their employees over via time off/vacation. Really high turn over rate due to above reasons."

Production Associate (Current Employee) says

"This is a horrible job, you will work very hard everyday from sunup to sundown plus overtime and then out of the blue you will get laid off or fired. This company does not care about individuals. There is no home life with this company and no room for advancement unless you are part of the clique. Managers display alot of favortism. Interns account for 75% of the work force and if you work here you will probably be relplaced by one within 2 years with the company. There is no structure, no procedures, no guidelines. Alot of backstabbing in this company.hour lunchesCome in early, stay late, and no bonuses or promotions-mandatory overtime"

Temp (Former Employee) says

"No heat in the winter, no a/c in the blistering southern summer where it often is 105 degrees inside. The majority of the work force are temps, many for five years or more and are treated as second class citizens. Temps lose 5 weeks of pay a year because of shutdowns, while employee don't. Pay is very low and work is hard and dirty. The rules are always changing because of poor management. Only go here as a last resort. Can't think of any.Everything is geared toward the company, never the workers."

Helicopter Mechanic (Current Employee) says

"I fail to understand how someone is getting food for customers and gassing up company vehicles one month. The next, they’re a plant manager.Watching as this unchecked incompetence is running a profitable business into the ground.Luring in new hires with all of the benefits, which look great on paper.Saying that work and home balance is important doesn’t mean much to employees who are working 50+hours a week for a year or more.Your time with the company and experience is worthless. The longer you stay the more you’ll see people hired making almost the same money as you.Speak about it,and you’ll be labeled with a “negative attitude”,and targeted for termination. This is how the incompetent bullies in leadership keep their jobs.Playing the waiting game for the next layoff.Cake for events twice a yearIncompetence"

Software Engineer (Former Employee) says

"DO NOT WORK HERE. TRU Simulation + Training will work you till you leave. Software engineers have an EXPECTATION to work for free to grow the "new" company into profitability. Will you learn a lot? Yes. But, you can learn anywhere. Unless you really never want to see your family, or simply like working for free STAY AWAY. No overtime, bonuses, or comp time, yet management will see you in a bad light if you aren't willing to give up your weekends to fix management's poor scheduling issues. Then theres the pay. There is very talented engineers that work for TRU. Its not uncommon to see 10 year + guys making less than entry level engineers, and management does NOT see an issue with this. A software engineer leaves once every 2 weeks with the same remark, "I got offered 10-20k over my current salary to do the same thing somewhere else." TRU's salaries are NOT competitive to the market average. BEWARE OF LIES DURING INTERVIEW PROCESS. Any job listed as "Aerodynamics Engineer" or the like will NOT be performing flight dynamics responsibilities. You will sift through aircraft documentation to model the light switches turning on for the first 1-5 years on this job. Oh, did I mention this place is in the middle of nowhere Lutz, FL? Hope you like cow farms, and your local applebees. Yet, they will advertise this position as Tampa, FL. This facility is in LUTZ, and they will pay you Lutz money, not Tampa money. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND SEEK EMPLOYMENT ELSEWHERE.Fun people and productLiterally everything else"
