Resolute Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

Resolute Forest Products, formerly known as AbitibiBowater Inc., is a pulp, paper, tissue, and wood products manufacturer headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, formed by the merger of Bowater and Abitibi-Consolidated, which was announced 29 January 2007. At the time, AbitibiBowater was the third largest pulp and paper company in North America, and the eighth largest in the world. On 1 July 2012, the company name changed to Resolute Forest Products. Resolute Forest Products is a member of the Forest Products Association of Canada and the American Forest & Paper Association.

A former employee shares his upsetting experience on indeed.com, "I worked for Resolute Forest Products for over 20 years. The managers are incompetent. They knew less about papermaking than I did. Micromanagement was rampant. Managers made sure they knew EXACTLY what time you came in and what time you left. I was forced to work many weekends, even when I was not "on-call" to provide data to accounting. As the "single person", I was almost always forced to work Christmas or Thanksgiving. Don't plan on seeing your family if they live out of town. Work expectations were unreasonable. I was forced to do not only my job, but cost accounting, engineering, and some production work. Lots of long, hot, sweaty summer days with no air conditioning on a cement floor. If the paper machine was not running well, you would be forced to work 12 hour days, 7 days a week until the paper machine started to run better. I once worked 21 days straight, all of them 12 hour days."

"I was over work and my opinion was not valued. The children we're not getting the care and therapy they needed. Resoures were low and professionalism was out the door Cons: Over worked staff"

sales representative/account (Former Employee) says

"You will not be paid for how much you travel they’re shady af and the boss will hold off your checks if she feels like it terrible company extreme shady everyone who works there does illegal things while out selling Cons: Drive, they don’t pay you on time, shady"

Campaign Coordinator (Former Employee) says

"I do not recommend this job to ANYONE who does NOT have strong interest in going into management. It is extremely stressful since you are literally at 99 cent stores trying to give away free phones to people who do not even want them and are expected to push them to change their mind. You hear no all day just to get very few yes's. It is not an easy job if you are not good at facing rejection on a constant basis. However, if you ARE interested into getting into management, this is a good job to quickly get there and they supply the funds later to help you in that process, but you also have to truly commit your life to the job since it was 6-day work weeks and on your one free day you usually have meetings too so you basically have zero free time and your coworkers become your family."
