Ticket Clerk (Former Employee) says"After approximately two days' training I ended up scheduled to work night shift at the Springfield MA bus terminal singlehandedly. After the close of normal business hours, all customer service calls were rerouted to the ticket desk. I had absolutely none of the training or information necessary to assist with any passenger difficulties: callers were rightly extremely dissatisfied with this and (less rightly) frequently abusive. The facility is also unhygienic and questionably safe after dark, and I was forbidden to wait in an employee-only area while waiting for the bus home. My direct supervisors were very helpful as far as that went, but I would not recommend this position to my worst enemy."

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) says"when I began at PPBL it was an awesome place to work. Even though the pay was not great, the people were and the atmosphere was. As time has rolled on the culture has changed. They expect way to much out of their under payed employees. It is a thankless job, no matter how hard you work or what you do, it is never enough. They have an HR Director who has made the job unbearable. If she does not like you, you will not be there long. She is unfriendly and non approachable. She is not there for the employees. She has made it a back stabbing, rotten work environment and management sees that and lets it continue. The VP's of the company are spineless and will listen to anyone and not give you a chance to defend yourself against lies. It is very sad, I think that Peter SR is turning over in his grave seeing how his son is running the place."

Management is disrespectful and shows no concern for drivers. Company has no opportunity for advancement . Your just a driver in a seat over here not a person . HR does absolutely nothing to assist employees and it is run very inefficiently. They Care only about the bottom line nothing else. You are constantly making excuses for policies and procedures that should not be in place. They only worry about what is happening right at that moment and deal with issues only as they pop up it’s very stressful and unpredictable. They will find any reason to let people go and turn over is insanely high Cons: No support way too much gossip and high school clicks between management and employees"

Motor Coach Operator (Former Employee) says"It was truly tough to work there the trainers were really not friendly you had to watch everything you said and how you said it. I would have thought they were prejudiced. Some people I know who drove a truck for 25 years were turned away by same trainers."

Customer Care Supervisor (Former Employee) says"At the end of the day if you don’t mind being on edge all the time, not knowing where you stand with your coworkers and management, and being expendable at any given moment you stray from the cliques, then you will be fine here! It pays well and is at a convenient location. The crew there are just waiting for the right opportunity to stab you in the back when convenient if you aren’t doing exactly what they expect."

Bid four times per year for new/exisiting route based on seniority. Union shop. Management tend to know less than drivers in terms of daily ops, communication lacks. Cons: Coaches on the older side, long hours at flat rate"
