"I worked at National Retail Federation full-time for more than a year Cons: Below average pay, high turnover, long hours, and a very toxic work environment with weirdly cliquish staff in some departments. Be warned - you will spend more time navigating the nonsensical internal politics and accommodating inflated egos than actually doing your job. Even absent that issue, the workload is unreasonably high and you will be working constantly to stay on top of everything. Avoid this place - it's not worth it."

She is dishonest, lax in her work, teleworks constantly, and is always conveniently “out of the office.” What a cushy setup she has; she doesn’t have to do her work, gets staff to cover for her, lies around at home all day, and gets a paycheck. Well, maybe that’s one pro—you can work here, follow her model, and bank the paycheck. Plus, there’s all the gossiping and backbiting for daily entertainment when no one has enough to do! Yet another perk if you’re into soapy dramas and on-the-job antics!"

"I have been working at National Retail Federation full-time for more than 3 years Cons: This is a terrible organization led by spineless and out of touch leaders. NRF is dying a painfully slow death. Leadership is so out of touch with what's happening to move the industry forward, competitors are swiping members without even trying and I don't blame the members one bit for jumping ship. There is no process at all for anything across the company. You may be asked to complete the same task 10 different ways by 10 different people. Onboarding and new employee training is a joke. I continue to witness new employees come in for the same positions and have to wing it because HR and department heads have no interest or idea of how to get people up to speed quickly on "processes." Because the processes don't exist. Everyone is a director or VP because worthless promotions where your job and responsibilities don't actually change are handed out like candy to people, whether they deserve it or not, simply because they've been here forever. Which leads me to my final point: many people have been with this organization and in the same role forever, which means there are no opportunities for career growth. In this age where you are expected to move between companies to continue growing, that says a lot about the complacency of the people at NRF and that complacency has bled over into the company culture. NRF is dying. Don't bother working here. I nor anybody else worth a damn will be here much longer. Pay is also on the lower end compared to similar roles in similar organizations."
