Moneris is Canada's largest financial technology company that specializes in payment processing. Moneris was established in December 2000 as a joint venture between the Royal Bank of Canada and Bank of Montreal. The company is headquartered in Toronto, Ontario and has a contact centre in Sackville, New Brunswick.

A former employee said this in a review: "After working at Moneris I find that the company does not have sympathy for families, will not work around families/appointments/Medical Emergencies. The company is strictly based on stats and even stats aren't good enough for Management".

Some supervisors think that they own the place, taking break time for one hour to smoke a cigaret and when you are late for 15 min, they will report you to the manager like we are in a school not a business company bad leadership by managers and supervisors No career advancement. no good pay favoritism people dont mind their business they want to know all of your life and if u dont want to reveal you private life then you are not sociable you want to adress issues with executives but they will never respond even if they have to but if another executive contact them then they will respond. It shows that you are ranking employees."

"Still a toxic workplace even after the 12+ years having been there; not safe to speak up about bad managers/difficult situations between employees, still a culture of favourtism and SLT/execs "bending the rules" when it comes to resources. While networking and making connections is a foundational work skill, too often the culture at Moneris is one of favoring individuals based on likability even though they may lack the skills of another qualified candidate."

"One of the worst places to work for. Do not consider working here. If the company makes a job offer, run quickly in the opposite direction. There is no transparency, poor interdepartmental communications and no team building. This is unfortunate because there are people who care but do not matter. Everyone is out for themselves. Moneris has a high turnover rate and reflects a deeply toxic, abusive and bullying work environment. The senior executives are the only ones that are being paid and treated well. Expect lots of micro management, lack of on the job training and lack of respect. Demeaning behavior at all levels of management. Employees are overworked, undervalued, and ostracized. Management and non management incompetency are at all levels in the organization. Any ideas you bring to the table gets declined by management but will use as their own and receive credit for. There are too many inept employees unable to communicate or work together due to politics and/or self involved careerist. It becomes a struggle to get something done and worst of all, dealing with team leaders and managers do not provide support and are nowhere to be found. They spend most of their time in meaningless meetings, drinking across the street, inexplicably working from home, and/or they take extended long weekends. Chain of command and responsibilities are unclear and changes often. Policies are not followed and no one is checking. The department “favorites” appear to have little to do and no one seems very concerned. The open office concept has created cramped areas, noisy working conditions, lack of work privacy and undermines the ability to focus and get work done. This environment fosters excessive chit chat and exposes us to hear confidential matters that should not be heard. There is rampant sexist and abusive behavior from some individuals but complaining does not help. HR does not address this abusive behaviour. Nothing is done about it even if you report it to HR. HR goes through the motions but the complaint is swept under the carpet."

"Management does not care about mentoring the employees, they like playing favourites and do enjoy to MICRO manage you. Management watches people behind their back, there is an air of mistrust and unhealthy competition among employees. They don't value their employees. Its a revolving door, new co-workers every few months, leader do not mentor, NO leadership skills whatsoever and will throw you under the bus whenever there is a chance, overwork with minimum range of salary, too much pressure, unfriendly and very toxic environment and your leader always makes you feel uncomfortable. Worst experience ever. High turnaround of staff with many bad reasons as to why. Not sure how they stay in business and keep clients. Would NOT recommend to work at this company even to my worst enemy."

"Poor training, unequal condition for all staff, if you are not connected to manager or supervisor/team lead don't like you then you are in trouble whatever you do it does not work. They are gang, you should enter in one of them otherwise you are in trouble. Not professional people, they smile at you but stab you from back. Long hours working with little payment. I am writing this because I care about human beings.supervisor, team lead and managers smiles but all fakelow payment, no appreciation, back stabbing senior staffs"

"For anyone facing racism there, please don't go to HR. Collect evidence and go to courts. CEO was all talk, no actual action. "lives" in florida. No social/community events. You arrange events with your colleagues yourself. For a company raking in billions, they throw christmas parties in community centres and ask you to pay to.enter, for food and drinks..."

"Training is not provided formally, questions are discouraged, and things are taught once! If you ask the same question again, then you are incompetent. Workplace culture involves a lot of rumors (the overwhelming majority of employees are women) and deceitful chit chat. Management has closed door policy, and does not have time to respond to pay checks requests or e-mails. Even customers find it extremely hard to get hold on someone to help with emergencies."

"High turn over with staff not replaced and work pushed to already over worked employees. No rewards for hard work. Low base pay and managers in keeping with thier budget give no raises. More and more work pushed with no overtime. Management is invisible and don't know how to manage or know job. Managers appointed by the Peter Principle and what director you are kissing up to. A lot of bullying, demeaning behaviour by managers to employees. Managers lie to their superiors and throw employees under the bus. A constant witch hunt! Director's VP's - open your eyes to beyond the deflecting of your managers.Many friendly workers that are at low pay bands and they are on subway line.Bad behaving managers and team leads."

"To survive at Moneris you need to be willing to devote much of your energy to playing office politics. Management looks out for themselves and not the employees. Inside Sales department focuses on achieving revenue targets and not customer experience, therefore customers are gouged on fees and rates so sales targets can be achieved. It is common practice amongst the IB Sales Representatives to game the system in their favor as unethical practices are encouraged by team managers,Directly on TTC subway line (Islington subway stop).Management needs to be more realistic in its revenue expectations."

"I enjoy my work and dealing with customers. Very easy job due to all the advertisement that Moneris does and the fact that they receive warm leads from bmo and rbc. There is potentiant to make good money but target in over inflated so stress is high and inside competition is unethical. They are creating new call centres over seas and hiring independent groups to do our job while target remains just as high. You are not allowed to have an opinion otherwise you are labeled as negative and harassed. Their tactics is to scare rather than motivate. The worst part about this company is management. Extremely unprofessional and unethical. Strict call centre environment, micro management and no room for advancement unless you are Fake for friend and family with management. Lots of favourotism. Not an equal opportunity place. You are treated like a second class citizen. I often feel I am back at school! Not a good feeling for a working adult. I would not recommend as they do not value employees. If you are looking for long term growth look elsewhere. Good for temporary, transitional place to work.Easy sale, warm leadsCorrupted management. "You are there to shut up and just do your job. Management is horrible. All about favouritism. If they don’t like you for any reason they will throw you out. Advancement may happen after years. They show you one way when you start that you mean so much to them but after 3 months they couldn’t care less about you and fire you! Bad people in management not a good vibe feeling not trustworthy place to work. Stay away !Nice merchants and some nice people that work there but definitely not all of them. Team Lead talks behind staff member with others when that person is not present and has no idea what is going on. There is not clear communication with everyone in the team. They team up against each other. Work procedures are so unclear and mess, everyday new rules that making new mess in the entire department that affect employee and clients.nielI would not suggest you to work there. low payment, lots of expectations"

"I was having a bit of trouble getting their systm to work, so I called for support. I did my best to be patient and respectful while seeking assistance. I had a very rude man tell me I shouldn\'t be calling him, I should call the business in question (who will then call them, because their system isn\'t working...) and then hung up on me. Jerk."

"Awful payment services company that takes and holds money from businesses without their consent. Owned by Bank of Montreal and RBC, service fees are high. Payment technology equipment and products are dreadfully inadequate. The credit/debit terminal machines I rented from them would continually break down interrupting business and money coming in as nobody really carries cash these days. Service technicians would not arrive until next day or 24 hours later at the very least. This frustration dealing with Moneris as a business owner was equivalent to being impacted by Covid, years before the actual Covid pandemic ever existed. I switched over to TD Merchant."
