Migraine Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback
A migraine is a primary headache disorder characterized by recurrent headaches that are moderate to severe. Typically, the headaches affect one half of the head, are pulsating in nature, and last from a few hours to 3 days. Associated symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light, sound, or smell. The pain is generally made worse by physical activity.
Migraines absolutely suck. No question about it. In Amanda Chatel's listicle for Bustle.com she explains, "If you’ve never had a migraine, then you can’t even begin to understand just how debilitating they can be. With a headache, even a bad one, you can function; with a migraine, even the smallest tasks become impossible. When one strikes, I have to take to my bed from anywhere from one to three days and just stay put in complete darkness and silence."
Secretary (Current Employee) says"great people, great patients. pay and benefits are excellent. good hours, great benefits; excellent working conditions. paid vacation and sick time. small private practice"
Former Employee - Administrative Assistant says"I worked at Migraine Research Foundation part-time for more than a year Cons: Working here is almost heartbreaking. We could do so much more, but the people in charge have given up hope and are honestly lazy. To scared to do anything new. Quick to shoot down ideas that work for every other nonprofit. Management needs to step down and invite in new blood. They have no passion or desire anymore. They just get by. As an employee it's heartbreaking to learn to accept this. The pay is insulting. Sure, nonprofit work is known to be low, but you will work for rich people while not being able to pay rent. You are expected to have roommates and second job. When you talk to them about this, they are down right mean and patronizing. Meanwhile every single day you are treated to stories about their fabulous vacations and various houses. It's maddening. They just don't respect the admins. This is probably why the previous admins either quit with no notice or very, very short notice. It's an ongoing trend and they blame the people they hire instead of looking at themselves. When 7 people quit in a row it's not them, it's you. The benefits are laughable and the time off for sick days and vacation is just insane. There is soo much wrong here, but I stuck around because despite them failure of management, I was able to do good and I needed a steady, if laughable income while I was looking for something else."
