McGill University is a public research university in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Founded in 1821 by royal charter granted by King George IV, the university bears the name of James McGill, a Scottish merchant whose bequest in 1813 formed the university's precursor, University of McGill College (or simply, McGill College); the name was officially changed to McGill University in 1885. Despite being one of the most premier universities in Canada, for many reasons it still sucks.

McGill's main campus is on the slope of Mount Royal in downtown Montreal, with a second campus situated in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, also on Montreal Island, 30 kilometres (19 mi) west of the main campus. The university is one of two universities outside the United States which are members of the Association of American Universities, alongside the University of Toronto, and it is the only Canadian member of the Global University Leaders Forum (GULF) within the World Economic Forum.

McGill offers degrees and diplomas in over 300 fields of study, with the highest average admission requirements of any Canadian university. Most students are enrolled in the five largest faculties, namely Arts, Science, Medicine, Engineering, and Management. With 30% of students coming to McGill from over 150 countries, its student body is the most internationally diverse of any medical-doctoral research university in the country. In all major rankings, McGill consistently ranks in the top 50 universities in the world and among the top 3 universities in Canada. It has held the top position for the past 15 years in the annual Maclean's Canadian University Rankings for medical-doctoral universities.

One student shares an opinion about the facilities at McGill University, ¨The facilities are decrepit and continue to be more run down. The buildings are pretty but do not offer much technology to help the learning experience. The gym is pretty pathetic considering it is no bigger than an average high school gym and needs to support about 35,000 students. Sports facilities are run down and barely existent.¨

"Absolutely shocking Non stop issues for a year Don't know where I am with them. Non stop bills because I didn't give them meter readings on time every month ??? Don't know how much I've paid within the year but I know I've paid much more than I should have Customer service is appalling Last straw they sent me a letter saying I've not paid my bill and if not paid within the week they'll contact debt collection agency. I never even received a bill for this amount ???Absolutely Shocking!! Customer service made me feel like a criminal As from today I'm returning to SSE Was with them for over 6 years with no issues My advice stay well clear of Scottish power. Calling customer service is so confusing they all contradict each other Will never use them again and will certainly let family and friends know of Scottish powers incompetence very unsatisfied customer"

"I agree every word of the reviews below given the same one star. Sadly we cannot give a zero score. This company is appalling. Staff must have the worst inhouse training possible; what they say, isn't true; what they say they will do, won't happen; promised returned calls won't materialise. The costs are significantly more than those quoted at first, monthly payments increased by 65% after the first payment but no explanation given. The quoted costs were a LOT less than what was charged. DO NOT TOUCH WITH SOMEONE ELSE'S BARGEPOLE!"

"I wrote on here a few months back about the dreadful customer service I have received from this company. My issues started well before covid became prevalent although it has dragged on until this week. If you do have problems with this company, and looking at the shameful reviews on here there are many of us, please, please, please take it up with the ombudsman at your earliest opportunity. You will have to go through sp procedure. Raise a complaint and do not let them close it (and they will try from my experience) until you have complete satisfaction. Keep records of dates etc and only converse by email for future evidence (again from my experience they will constantly try to engage you on the phone but insist on email). I eventually got to the deadlock situation when I could then go to the ombudsman. The process with the ombudsman is so simple and this week they found in my favour. So once again please see your complaint through to the ombudsman if you can and good luck. Edit :- Just received this reply below. Why on earth would I want to enter into further discussions with sp when the Ombudsman has ruled in my favour and thanks to the Ombudsman, not sp, the matter is now resolved. If sp had been up to the job there would have been no need to involve the Ombudsman. Unbelievable once again from sp."
