5ecret 5tar Inc, doing business as Luxe, was a technology company that developed, marketed and operated the Luxe mobile app, an on-demand parking and car services mobile application. Using Luxe, customers could submit a request to have their car parked, fueled, washed, charged, serviced or driven home by the company's valets. Luxe was acquired by Volvo Cars in September 2017.

A former employee said this in a review: "Poorly run, no communication between managers. No one is background checked and everyone is treated like a child. Instead of trying to give employees hours and chances to move up, they send people home or make them do jobs that they werent trained for. Luxe sucks".

"Unfortunately, the owners are a cancer to all their operations and services. A revolving door of management, therapists, and guest relations leaves the business scattered and dysfunctional. Most positions are incredulously underpaid, each with “guaranteed advancement” that is impossible. Owners and lead management are unethical, inhumane, CHEAP, and manipulative. New administrative infrastructure is the only way this location will thrive, and the sooner the better, for the sake of the spa’s reputation. Cons: Lousy"

Esthetician (Former Employee) says

"From management to the people they hired it was bad. They market $40-$50/hr but I never saw anything past $10/hr. Training was provided after I started in the position and was messy. There was an incident at the Carmel location that was not handled until a customer came forward to explain the problem. 3 co-workers had previously come forward with the same problem and nothing was done. The overall feel of the location was slimy and turn over was extremely high. I had a surprise vacation planned for me and when informing the manager he told me that it was "inconvenient and I needed to make sure someone could cover my shift." I was the only esthi at the time and somehow that was my fault. I had checked the schedule and I had nothing on my books. I do not recommend working for the Carmel location."

"We are told to be pushy with Monthly memberships If we failed to get them to enroll we would be criticized on it and looked down upon on. Every time we check someone out we not only forced you to buy the monthly plan they also push them into buying overpriced soap and lotions from their Finch-berry line. Lets not forget about the messy manager at the front desk C. who is basically a teenager that gossips about customers and employees who work along side of her. Absolutely no room for advancement , they show favoritism A LOT ! Therapist always complain on how they are underpaid and not happy there. They run in clicks and gossip like a high school to the point that Me and another employee decided if they let one of us go we both leaving Cons: very low pay, childhish managemnet, boring, short lunch, judgmental"

"The most unprofessional general manager I have ever worked for. The traininggtoubget is lacking. You are told to call other locations for help as she still does not even know how to do it. Management claims she is “all about family the the babies” and there to help with anything needed. What a joke, never answered her phone when there was trouble at the spa and if a family emergency arises sorry for your luck. Managment told me at interview she has favorites and it shows from day one! Schedule's are a joke as if her number are low she will take you off so she can work and get the sales. Some people should never be in a management position and she is a perfect example of why!!"

"You sit for many hours without pay so your conversion is very low you don’t make enough and have to sit there for too many hours in this line of business only the owners make money"

Front Desk Receptionist (Former Employee) says

"Worked at this company for 7 months. After the first month as a front desk associate got promoted to shift supervisor. 2 weeks later got promoted to general manager. You will receive no training for any positions in this company. You will have to beg for training and still receive the most inadequate training. You will be required to put 14 hour days in and they will say your not meeting there expectations and be threatened with demotions. Stepped down from the general manager position on good terms with the owner. Then 1 month later gets 3 write ups in one day for things that never happen and get terminated. No job security or professionalism what so ever."

"If clients don’t show up you don’t get paid. You are not paid what you are worth. You only get 17/massage if it was a repeat client and 45 only if you sell the additional services on top of the massage. There are no sinks in the rooms for when you do foot scrubs. Was sitting most of the time."

"This place of business seems like the loving job you’d always wanted. Filled with bullies and childish management going all the way up the chain. Nothing short of disappointment"

"You are expected to never call out and dedicate your life to this company that barely gives you a full 30 minutes break and pays you $10 an hour at most. The policies are meant to screw over customers and you will constantly have to stand by it. One of the most terrible jobs I have worked and I’ve had my fair share. Front desk is a revolving door for a reason."

"This location is the worst to work in. The owners are very rude and disrespectful. When they hire you, they tell you great things about the company and after you get hired, they mess you over. They make rules that they want you to follow however they don't follow any rules at all when it comes to certain things. Not only that, on top of being a massage therapist, they want you to be a maid as well because they expect you to broom and mop the floors. They treat you like dirt and they don't pay you for the amount of work that you do. They are unprofessional and they're going through front desk and therapist every week because people don't want to stay."

"So the only winners are the corporates and the ownership, just as intended by its creators. The therapist is not respected and expected to carry the business for the ownership. Doing laundry is their (the ownerships) obligation but they impose it on you anyway. They make you feel guilt trips when you refuse to do what is their obligation. They hold meetings to let you know how unworthy you are, and if you want a raise that it’s as simple as selling more add-ons. They don’t care that you’re injured you must report to work and if not YOU must find cover not them. They will fire you if the white sheet is showing. If you cover shifts for your colleagues they don’t reciprocate when it’s your turn. If you have a funeral to attend they won’t cover you (it happened to me at the southwest ranches location) I didn’t raise raucous but it still bothers me today. They control you like a robot. Don’t give these people your precious energy they’ll exploit you and dispose you...they know more suckers are coming out of massage school like a mill...there you have it. I don’t understand how this is even legal. It’s not a clinic and it’s not a spa...ITS A HALFWAY HOUSE."
