Kotaku Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

Kotaku is a video game website and blog that was originally launched in 2004 as part of the Gawker Media network. Kotaku was one of several websites that was purchased by Univision Communications in their acquisition of Gawker Media in August 2016; Gizmodo Media Group was subsequently founded to house the Gawker acquisitions, operating under the Fusion Media Group, a division of Univision. The Gizmodo Media Group was later acquired by the private equity firm Great Hill Partners in April 2019, and renamed G/O Media.

Three reasons Kotaku sucks:

1. It's known to start rumors and spread false information, which explains why companies like Bethesda Softworks, Sony and Ubisoft have blacklisted it.

2. Kotaku editor Luke Plunkett criticized detractors of the Call of Duty series by calling them "idiots", "obnoxious elitists" and "assholes" while his site was running an extensive CoD advertisement campaign.

3. Its parent company G/O Media doesn't make the happiest employees. In January 2020 the GMG union, which represents the staff of G/O media, announced a vote of no confidence in CEO Jim Spanfeller citing, among other issues, a lack of willingness to negotiate for "functional editorial independence protections".
