Current Employee - Production Worker says"Long hours low pay sub-par insurance management needs to be replaced favoritism and nepotism is rampant"
says"Favoritism and poor leadership at GBS in Grand Rapids. Too many team leads and their assistants but not enough staff on teams to cover time off."
Former Employee - Operations Supervisor says"Absolutely no work/life balance. LOTS of unpaid overtime. Might as well set up a cot and live there and forget any free time. You could spend all of your scheduled off days covering vacation. Upper management doesn't have a clear direction and you can't do enough to to please them. Management doesn't follow Kelloggs K Values and rules with an iron fist. There are people in management positions that require people skills and they don't possess any people skills. There is high turnover and due to this there is a lack of job knowledge."
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"Poor management. Disgruntled employees due to being overworked. Company has no sick time if take off sick you are subject to a point system. A lot of forced overtime."
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"Terrible culture, cost cutting & terminations. Leadership thinks one person doing the job of 4 people is what works"
Former Employee - Transportation Assistant Plant Level says"Work/Life balanced is zilch. (Corporate suggested everyone hire assistants instead) Extremely hostile work environment in most plants. If you aren't union, you don't matter. I was not allowed to use left over vacation before deploying to with the military to a combat zone, not once but twice and was made to feel guilty about others having to cover for me while I was gone."

Machine Operator/Material Handler (Former Employee) says"The structure of this company is horrendous, almost draconian. Management has no clue what they're doing. Supervisors care more about running product than fixing or doing the proper maintenance on machines. They say it's a family company, complete BS!!!!! They don't want you to have a personal life or a family, just work work work. They penalize you if you can't work overtime.N/aForced overtime, union, disorganized"
merchandiser (Former Employee) says"Company expects more then the average person can deliver. I learned that it was the WORST company I ever worked for. Management would browbeat you into pushing harder. They wanted you in and out of the stores ASAP. They did NOT care about store conditions, just cases per hour. Hardest part of the job was getting up in the morning to go to work. You knew from the time you left the house that the day was only headed in one direction, DOWN. The Best thing I ever did with them was when I told them where to shove their job."
Account Manager (Former Employee) says"The company is a great one to work for and good for the resume. If you are not in the inner circle you will NEVER advance. They told me I could come in and start bidding on new opportunities since I was working below my skill level....I started putting in for advancement and was then told I was not eligible. They chopped our compensation 2 times in the year I was there. Do not work for this company unless you are a protected status or you have a connection."
Route Sales Representative (Former Employee) says"What Mid level and upper management was non existent when u needed help company sucked work/life balance was a joke typical 10-14 hours a day if u needed help good luck"
Crew Scheduler (Former Employee) says"Working with the other schedulers was stressful and a very negative enviroment. They singled out certain union workers if they dared to question them. They did not follow the union rules for scheduling. They were poor at training and at 1 point stated I had last the longest then anyone else. I wonder why. There was absolutely no communication it eas a poor working encieomwnt"

Plant Scheduler (Former Employee) says"Was so excited to get hired. Thought it’d be an exceptional experience. Boy was I fooled. Miserable from day one. Minimal training. Lots of office politics. I wasn’t one of the “good ole boys” so I didn’t have a chance. Beware. Stay away."
Case Picker/Forklift Operator (Former Employee) says"When I first got there I didn’t have any training, but I like the fact that they do train you and that the training it paid. It is not easy work and the work is not for everybody. It is fast paced and it is a very stressful environment. I traveled an hour everyday there and back just commuting and I had an suv so I spent $120 a week on gas. Good job for people who DO NOT have goals and ambitions to become something in life."
Merchandiser (Former Employee) says"Don't waste your time. Management sucks. They dont respond and falsely accuse even if you have proof. No raise, no advancement.Environment not great at all."

It's the absolute most horrible job environment ever.ClockOut time & VacationEverything but Pros"
Machinist/fabricator (Current Employee) says"Chaotic and disorganized. Over run by incompetence. Continuous payroll issues, I never knew when I was scheduled to work. Have a punishing punitive system for missed time, and seem unable to properly apply personal time. Would not spend anything on tools materials or parts- a dying plant. The culture is over run by a clique of very old entrenched employees that use the union to abuse new hires into quiting.Near my home, and they held low expectationsHorrible place driven by fear and incompetance"
Merchandiser (part-time) says"I was a merchandiser here from June 2011 to January 2015. My experience as a merchandiser was awful. It was a mistake ever applying. I remember after they hired me I was driving to one of the locations on my first day and I thought for a second about turning around. Looking back I wish I did. That alternate reality might have been better for me. I wasted all those years working at a company that kept me on part-time forever despite being a great worker. All that hard work was done in vain and after my employment with them was over all I had to show for it was a car that accumulated 200,000 miles. I remember the work environment was very toxic. I did not receive a warm welcome whatsoever. All the people I had to work with and around at the stores I serviced were beyond rude and hostile. That bad energy was unrelenting and permeated every aspect of the job leaving you feeling completely drained and defeated after the work day was over. Working here almost ruined my life. Last I heard they got did of their merchandisers. Thank goodness. If only they would have done that back in 2010 things would have turned out better for me.Absolutley nothing.Bad work environment, incompetent management, low pay, rude customers, not enough hours, no benefits, too much driving."
Assembly Line Worker (Former Employee) says"Poor communication skills. Favoritisms I recommen for no one to work here very unprofessional. No one to go to when you have a problem out there. The branch is no help.Short lunch break and awful communicationThey don’t have anything good out there"
Account Manager (Current Employee) says"You are just a number and will be threatened/harassed on a daily basis. You will not have any work/life balance, job security, or recognition for how hard you work."
