General Laborer (Former Employee) says

"the pay is not better, the rest time is very short time the superindentes do not know what the company does as such does not worry about the welfare of the employees nor do they give safety boots nor give a place near the home where you can get to work on time"

MOT Foreman (Former Employee) says

"This pkace is a joke. After being promised a $2 raise for more than 6 months i got a raise of $0.09 Yes that is 9 cents. And was for only 20.5 of my 43 hours worked that week."

Dump Truck Driver (Former Employee) says

"Not a good experience, but You have a job Cons: culture/ poor management/ a lot of bosses/ gossips/ mechanic shop"

Survey Manager (Former Employee) says

"Absolutely horrible place to work. Cons: Disgustingly cut throat and back stabbing"

Paving Superintendent (Former Employee) says

"The hourly personnel where great. The management had NO clue of what we were doing on a DOT job, as I don't believe they had ever done one before. They subbed out a mill and repave on 6 lanes of hwy for 3 miles, and never checked it for cross slope or straight edge. All had to be redone. And the super was cutting corners left and right. Doing very bad practices for DOT paving. I have been a supervisor for the last 20 years and never have seen anyone do the things I saw. When I brought it to the attention of the owners, they told me not to worry about it, and let the Superintendent in charge do as he wanted. Unbelievable... Cons: Poor upper management, not concerned with placing a quality product."

Pipe Layer (Former Employee) says

"Its hard to fit in with this company."

"Was ok to work for but they have gone downhill and some superintendents and foreman show favoritism ethnically . No advancement if you're not liked by some"

"i had worked for the company for almost 3 years. when i had an issue it would always be no problem then once i reported something to the hr department that was done against me i got fired and the other people involved still kept there job."

Bridge & Structure Foreman (Current Employee) says

"Very professional atmosphmere extremely helpful coworkers everyone is a team. If and when mistakes are made everyone gets together and figures out the issue. Cons: To many bosses"

Pile driver (Current Employee) says

"I love jr Davis it's where I started my current favorite job but my job is very serious and they don't seek to give me a raise but I kinda just go with the flow of things. The foremans could treat there men a little better I never had a foremen complain about getting his crew water or having to make them buy it in 105 degrees weather. Cons: Poor foremans, don't seek to give hard workers good pay, racism is out of control there"

Dump/Water Truck Driver (Former Employee) says

"The managers had issues on decision making. dispatchers were replaced every three months. there was no sense of direction. You did not know what was your duties until the next morning. as far as schedule was involved."

Laborer/Operator (Former Employee) says

"I like to be more active and this was standing in the direct sunlight for 8 hours a day holding a sign. Was told they wanted to train me to use heavy equipment and then they put me off and never followed through. Cons: Short breaks, not active"

Equipment Operator (Current Employee) says

"The pay and room for advancement isn’t high. The best thing about the job is, family oriented and flexible if you need time off. But moving up or learning new equipment is not there."

Tailman (Current Employee) says

"Not enough communication and dont want to.pay you what your worth they need to let the people that know what there doing do it and not try to micro manage everyone"

Equipment Operator / General Laborer (Former Employee) says

"Equipment is constantly changing for newer models , jobs are always flowing in and foremen seem to be proficient in their fields. Work can get repetitive with equipment but its better than pushing a shovel in the florida sun."

Pipe Layer (Former Employee) says

"Good job. Taught me how valuable teamwork is, because it took every member of the team in order to complete the task. I had a hard working crew that all did their jobs well so it made my job easier. I learned a lot from the crew because I pay attention to everything, because I never know when I might have to cover for a team member. I liked the job because of the workout that came with it. I just didnt like the unpredictable conditions. Cons: distance and unpredictable conditions"

Crane Operator (Former Employee) says

"JR Davis seems to be a great christian company. I was well paid, and the crane was great. Unfortunately the Superintendents were not. Cons: Superintendants"

concrete foremen (Former Employee) says

"when working at jr Davis I was never really bored we were always doing something but while waiting for shipments it could make me really anxious thinking about deadlines Cons: Culture"
