From Everything.Sucks

Hays Sucks. Hays plc is a leading English company providing recruitment and human resources services across 33 countries globally. It is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index.

A former Administrator from Wolverhampton office wrote the following review, sharing his/her experience working at Hays in a review published by INDEED UK: Having worked for them for years, in the last 11 months I have had no work and no useful contact. Sophie the agent at Wolverhampton is either "in a meeting" or "with a client" and does not return calls. I had outstanding feedback from clients and have been a real "go-to Temp." All I have been getting is pointless calls asking me for an update of my situation but no offers. Every time it is" I'm not gonna lie, it's been quiet just lately." What for 11 months?  Fortunately, I have been successful in finding other work myself or with another agency.  Do not waste your time with these people. If they treat an excellent and long-term Temp like this, it's an easy call to guess what anyone else can expect.

Tell the world why Hays sucks!

I certify that this review is based on my own experiece and is my opinion of this person or business. I have not been offered any incentive or payment to write this review.

Our core employees are offered benefits such as: -Generous PTO (including unlimited for some employees) -Company paid medical leave -Company sponsored trips Our Total Rewards team is continuously reviewing our employee benefits to ensure we remain an industry leader in offering the best benefit plan possible for our staff. Recruitment Consultant (Former Employee) says

"I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy. Extremely unprofessional and toxic workplace culture stemming from the directors down. I didn't even last 6 months at this company. This place took a mental toll on me and I didn't realise exactly how bad it was until I left. There is a culture of competitiveness, bullying, people having outside of work relationships (if you know what I mean... affairs the works) - mainly managers and directors from what I gathered whilst I was there. It is not a place for kind and good people. Its a breeding ground for bad people and a terrible environment to work in, being overworked, run down, bullied and judged. They make you work 8-5.30pm everyday and it is expected you do overtime and dont get paid for it. Im surprised fair work haven't been into this place. If you are a company looking to use hays dont do it and if you are looking to work there... well here is your warning.NoneLong hours, bullying, manipulation, toxic culture"

Former Employee - Recruiter says

"Thank you for your candid review. We take our reputation to heart and believe all Hays employees must act ethically and with our customer’s (both candidate and client) best interests in mind. The industry requires internal staff to conduct the business with urgency while embodying a competitive spirit. We recognize that this type of environment and career in recruitment may not be suited for everyone. But, it is our hope that those who do move on to other opportunities have learned skills that will make them successful in their new endeavors."
