Gs 800 Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

The General Schedule (GS) is the predominant pay scale within the United States civil service. The GS includes the majority of white-collar personnel (professional, technical, administrative, and clerical) positions. As of September 2004, 71 percent of federal civilian employees were paid under the GS. The GG pay rates are identical to published GS pay rates. GS-800: ENGINEERING AND ARCHITECTURE - This group includes all classes of positions, the duties of which are to advise on, administer, supervise, or perform professional, scientific, or technical work concerned with engineering or architectural projects, facilities, structures, systems, processes, equipment, devices, material or methods. Positions in this group require knowledge of the science or art, or both, by which materials, natural resources, and power are made useful.

An article on argues that Government’s Pay System is Badly Fragmented, "Next year, the GS system—its management philosophy and administrative framework—will be 100 years old. Over the three decades since the enactment of FEPCA it’s become more and more fragmented. Program control is now spread over an amazingly disjointed array of stakeholders. Today, any notion that federal employees are paid fairly and consistently under a unified salary system is a myth. Anyone arguing that federal salaries are too low or too high is grossly oversimplifying reality. Federal pay is best described as a hodgepodge of systems. Few salaries have been evaluated to assess the impact on agency performance."
