Merchandise Associate/ associate stocker (Former Employee) says"By helping each other as a team and keeping the store open to the public and having peoples to come in to buy are products and stuff so we can donate to the poor and give some of are stuff to the Salvation Army Cons: 10 15 hour break and can’t be late clocking back in for work"
E-Commerce Assistant Manager (Former Employee) says"Don’t work here unless you literally have no other choice. Don’t do it. You’ll regret it. I assure you. You'll be treated like garbage and a second rate citizen. Cons: Poor management. Lack of respect. Hypocritical expectations from management with zero support"
Cashier (Former Employee) says"My review was the worst noone would help me when I ask them too nicely!!! And multiple times it was honestly the absolute worst like come on do your job and be helpful decent people like you say you are Cons: No"
BHP (Former Employee) says"They do not care about staff and do not pay well, want you to work even if your sick as dog. Say their there for kids but just worried about bottom line. Cons: Pay"
Presorter (Current Employee) says"Nothing. This company does not treat their coworkers fairly. Very unjust and just unfair at times with everything. Definitely would not recommend working here."
Sorter (Former Employee) says"This was the worse job ever. I am a hard worker who never quit until I became employed with this company. You are expected to do the job of more than one. Management disrespects employees daily. There is so much back stabbing that it makes the job very stressful. I have seen hard working dedicated employees leave in tears. Very few covid working employees remain simply because of over working and unappreciated. It's a very sad place. Cons: Everything"
Sales Associate (Former Employee) says"Legal Slaverey Cons: Impossible small breaks"
Manager (Former Employee) says"The only reason I rated 1 star on all is because they didn't have 0 or negative slots. No matter what position people had everybody wanted to be in charge everyone though the positions around it was sad stressful I really wasted a long four yearsI'll stay there because they have a way of trapping into work for them I keep your hours so that you could not get another job. A second job is a no no with them. None of the managers had experience they just throwed people in places and almost seemed like they hoped the managers mess up. For the virus the company got paid to hire back the original employees but they hired maybe one or two people back the rest was all new people sounds like fraud to me again with Goodwill Cons: Everything else was just awful.. everyone wanted to be in charge wanted"
Shift Leader (Former Employee) says"I got hired in as a shift lead , & at first it doesn’t seem like it would be as bad. But after my second week there I knew for a fact that wasn’t a job I would stay at. It’s VERY draining , LOW pay. Like low low. The amount of work you do in there employees should be paid $15 an hour. The GM of the store is rude and treats his workers horribly. Cons: Everything"
Store Manager (Current Employee) says"The management team here has been culled from a the bottom of the retail barrel!! Most managers, both at the store and corporate level, are unqualified and ill-epuipped for success in the postion they occupy. This puts a strain on the genuinely dedicated managers trying to be successful in this environment. Understanding the "non-profit" status may explain the low pay and lack of procedural focus, but it doesn't explain the total lack of competence and experience that pervades our organization. The company's response to the Covid pandemic is, at best, pityfull and at worst, dangerous and unethical!! Store employees, warehouse workers and office personell are routinely exposed to Covid positive coworkers without thier knowledge. Stay away!! Stay far away from this place!!! Cons: Inexperienced, Incometent, Unsupportive Management"
Processor (Former Employee) says"The people who work at the stores store are a GREAT group of people to work with, but the company is corrupt and greedy. Cons: Goodwill as a whole is corrupt and greedy, not nearly enough pay for the hard work you will do"
Assistant Store Manager (Former Employee) says"Goodwill doesn't help people. They receive grants from the government and that is the money that helps people...When you shop at a Goodwill store you are financing the company cars, catered meetings everyday and the high salaries of corporate management. Cons: You have to lie to customers about where their money goes"
Processor (Former Employee) says"Did not enjoy my time there, Expected to do way too much work for little pay managers never satisfied , Lots of physical work if your in the back processing Cons: Low pay, and over worked"
Cashier/Customer Service (Former Employee) says"Worst place to wipe work ever. Cons: short breaks"
Supervisor (Former Employee) says"The job itself was fun. But upper lever management was horrible. Subordinates are encouraged to constantly tell you what to do and report ALL to HR Cons: Insurance is terrible, high turnover, total disconnect between employees, mgmt & managers, Bad employees are rewarded and goid ones let go"
Team Leader (Former Employee) says"Work-life balance"
Asst. Manager (Former Employee) says"If you ever wondered what it’s like to live in an oppressive society this is the place for you. This so called non profit is strictly about sales and you will be reminded of that daily. As management you are micro managed to death about everything. Never will you get any feeling of being appreciated or needed, they don’t even try to hide the fact that you are disposable. You get vacation time but they dictate when and if you ever get to use it. I could go on for hours about the unethical business practices you endure working here, but it’s not exactly a secret amongst the public. I stayed longer than I needed to or should have. If you have any respect for yourself run from here."
Donation Attendant (Former Employee) says"At the orientation for goodwill they will give you a form for food stamps because they know they dont play anywhere close to a living wage. Cons: way to much to list"
Director of Retail Sales (Former Employee) says"Work-life balance"
Shift Supervisor (Former Employee) says"Communication is very poor. Management gives work assignments then pulls staff away to work in other areas. Management to then reprimands staff for not completing their work assignments. Cons: Poor pay"
