Fox Rothschild Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

Fox Rothschild LLP is an American law firm founded in Philadelphia in 1907.

Sexual harassment has become common in the Rothschild law firm. According to the newspaper reports, "Fox Rothschild fired a labor and employment lawyer in its Morristown, New Jersey, office on Wednesday, just hours after he was named in a federal lawsuit alleging “pervasive unwanted sexual comments, advances, requests and other similar conduct” at the firm, including an attempted rape. Stephanie Jones, 58, filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York against the Philadelphia-based Am Law 100 firm and counsel Ian Siminoff."

Legal Assistant and floater (Former Employee) says

"I do not believe they keep their word at Fox. I was told the job was temp to perm and after checking with them after 90 days was told the role was permanently temp. The Office Administrator is clearly not very clear in her thoughts. Too many desks to manage with no credit"

Attorney (Former Employee) says

"Law firms are difficult places to navigate. FR is not a transparent workplace. The whims of Attorneys run the joint. They are a retaliatory bunch. They manipulate the law and never play fair. It’s really a bullet point on a resume unless you are soulless or into sadomasochism. It really is that bad. Run by an executive committee that is shameless with sycophantic CEO, the place is a nightmare. Cons: Healthcare is very expensive. The Firm is a nightmare."

Anonymous (Current Employee) says

"d back each other up to save their own butts to get away with whatever they want. It's not what you do, it's who you gossip with all day. Administrator is a master manipulator, has the run of the place and only treats her gossiping buddies well. Anyone else is at her mercy. Long history of bullying and running people out. Avoid this place at all costs. Cons: No time to take PTO, toxic work environment"

Accounting Assistant (Current Employee) says

"No flexibility Cons: Micromanaging, No advancement, No flexibility, No appreciation"

Staff (Former Employee) says

"The Philadelphia office is run by politics. The gossip in this place is outrageous, especially for the women. It is reminiscent of Mean Girls. It doesn't matter how good you are at your job, if someone higher up doesn't like you, you're done for. They will either make your work life unbearable with constant nitpicking and holding you to an unreachable standard compared to your coworkers so you quit or they will manage you out. They do it very sneakily. If you feel as if you're on the chopping block, you probably are. Don't stick around to find out, just get out of there as soon as you can. I have seen good, hard working people with tons of experience prior to coming here that were let go because someone just didn't like them. Also, they will intentionally mislead you before signing on with them regarding stipulations (i.e. pre-planned vacations, giving a raise at the end of the year, promising more hours or overtime benefits after a certain amount of time, etc) and when you begin working with them, they will have no recollection of these conversations. I know three separate people HR has deliberately and outright lied to. There is no room for advancement. The pay is good, the benefits are very, VERY costly. A lot of the perks you get at other Philly firms are absent here, simple things such as being able to pick up your commuter pass in the office, etc. Morale is so low in this place, I have heard from many other people in different departments how much they want to leave. Different departments get away with breaking the rules and policies while others are held accountable; as Cons: office politics, favoritism, costly benefits"

Business Development Coordinator (Former Employee) says

"I’ve had some less than pleasant jobs, but Fox was the worst. The management in my department is terrible, pay is embarrassing, very high turnover and overall the work environment is extremely toxic. I never felt the support needed in my largely administrative role (though, advertised as business development/marketing). My questions were often met with sarcasm and comparisons to my colleagues. The firm also lacks diversity. Cons: Everything else."

Office Services Coordinator (Current Employee) says

"Manager displays favoritism toward one employee over others despite your work ethic being excellent. manager engages in gossip with other favorite employees. Cons: Poor management"

Counsel (Former Employee) says

"The problem is that it is a conglomerate of smaller firms under a big firm umbrella. Considerable funds are wasted on bloated management in Philadelphia. Just poorly run. Cons: Awful work environment."

Staff Member (Former Employee) says

"They have great attorneys but the administrator don't have no management skills, they don't appreciate their employees."

Associate Attorney (Former Employee) says

"I loved the work I was given, but the culture is extremely sexist and a lot like high school. Everyone talks about everyone else’s personal life when they aren’t around, and most (I’d say like 80%) of the WOMEN are sexist toward other women. Ironically, the HR Department is the worst in terms of sexism. The Director of Associate Recruitment was extremely unprofessional and often went out of her way to try and make new associates look bad."

Office Services Assistant (Former Employee) says

"This law firm could have potential in the sense of “I love my job” But they lack the decency and respect when it comes to their employees. The HR department should be ashamed of themselves, they condone harassment and volatile behavior from “protected” employees. They do not care for their employees as for we are just as disposable as the next group of people who walk through those doorsdoors Cons: Unappreciated, barely any holidays off, pto is terrible, zero personalitiess"

Legal Assistant (Current Employee) says

"Too partner heavy, there are a lot of Attorney's that are not mentally stable, the Attorneys gossip more than staff, The Attorney's are very racist, there is an employee there that harasses the entire office and she still remains at Fox because her Attorney protects her, the receptionist has mental issues and constantly hang up the phone on clients and transfers calls to the wrong extension, and the OA that is list on the website has no power or say so, she is listed as a front and to do what the partners tell her to do. Cons: no room for advancement"

Attorney (Former Employee) says

"Fox Rothschild’s toxic culture makes this a no-go Firm. Top heavy admin, old boy network in Philly, seriously a bunch of the biggest a-holes I have ever worked with. The upper management thinks growth should be double digits every year and they’ll make that happen one way or another. There are many better Firms out there, join one."

Office Assistant (Current Employee) says

"The place definitely plays favorites. People who work hard get treated badly and over worked and those that sit around get raises and promotions. If you ask for help you are ignored."

Immigration Paralegal (Former Employee) says

"This was a horrible place to work. HR works against you. HR will agree to confidential conversations with you about your concerns, and then report those concerns back to your supervising attorney. best part of the job? the fact that I am not working there anymore. the benefits are ok. the salary isn't bad. neither are worth the stress. Cons: unhealthy work environment"

Knowledge Management Specialist (Former Employee) says

"I worked at Fox Rothschild for one year. The job description and title changed during the interview process and continued to constantly change once I started. The firm has an unsupportive culture for anyone different including women and minorities. Firm management and HR stand by managers who use bullying tactics. Cons: Unclear expectations. Terrible culture. No flexibility."

Records Clerk (Current Employee) says

"This is a large, national law form that is continuing to grow. There is always plenty of work to do. The staff is highly educated and brings a lot of experience to the table."

Clerk-Professional Development (Current Employee) says

Legal Assistant (Former Employee) says

"Very hostile workplace. Staff is overall great and supportive of each other, but the attorneys are extremely arrogant and difficult to work for. Morale among staff is very poor due to constant verbal abuse and unrealistic expectations by attorneys and HR. No consideration given toward work/family life balance. Most staff members are actively looking for other jobs. Cons: Poor benefits; toxic environment; little respect for staff by attorneys"

Legal Administrative Assistant - Temporary (Former Employee) says

"Not enough work to stay busy; computer system was difficult to learn and did not make sense for the business needed done day to day. Cons: My particular attorney had no personaity"

Former Employee - Associate says

"I worked at Fox Rothschild full-time for more than 3 years Cons: Bonuses are just a carrot. The structure only serves the very top and top tiers. The worker bees just toil and toil. It’s an old story. There is corruption. Internally and externally in my opinion. It’s ugly and unchecked and the top brass seem to feel untouchable."

Current Employee - Associate says

"I have been working at Fox Rothschild full-time Cons: Almost everything else. Low morale and poorly structured."

Former Employee - Office Services says

"I worked at Fox Rothschild full-time for more than 3 years Cons: HR department needs to clean house and this goes for the OA of Philadelphia as well. They’re so corrupt. It’s appalling."

Former Employee - Professional Recruitment Assistant says

"I worked at Fox Rothschild full-time for less than a year Cons: I worked in the Professional Recruiting Department, which was a nightmare! They are so behind in terms of technological advancement. They still have paper files. Besides that the managers are so petty. They call you out for the littlest and dumbest things ever. I knew the moment that I walked in that office on my first day that it was not a place for me. I felt so unwelcomed and treated so much like an outsider that it made working there for 7 months so hard. I was looking for a new job that first week I started. People look down on you and treat you so unkind. It's a petty department run by petty people. The employee turnover ratio speaks for itself. Not many people last very long."

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"I worked at Fox Rothschild full-time for more than 3 years Cons: As a support staff member, we were treated poorly and extended very little respect. The woman who oversaw the team was rarely in the office and provided little to no guidance and support. This was one of my first jobs out of college and I assumed this was a normal work environment. Overall, toxic culture, zero room for growth and poor pay/benefits."

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"I worked at Fox Rothschild full-time Cons: Everything else. Benefits were awful, nothing covered. Believe what you are reading here before interviewing. High turnover. One Partner is so toxic and they do nothing to stop her."

Former Employee - Legal Administrative Assistant says

"I worked at Fox Rothschild full-time for more than 10 years Cons: Staff is treated like factory workers, without any respect or appreciation. Just keep on piling on the work, the assignments, the number of attorneys individuals are assigned to, with no additional money, if they do not like it they can leave."

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"I worked at Fox Rothschild full-time for more than 5 years Cons: Absolutely corrupt and unethical management and individuals from the bottom all the way to the top. If you are not one of the chosen, you are one of the victims -- hands down and without question!"

Former Employee - Associate says

"I worked at Fox Rothschild full-time for more than 3 years Cons: Bonus structure really angered many associates, hours being written off by Partners makes bonuses very subjective. Benefits are costly, with the Firm applying industry standards - heard that term constantly. It’s a corporation, intent on growing profits on the backs of the 99%. Ugly place. Head Office protects the rain makers, beyond the point of harassment. Just don’t work for them."

Former Employee - Legal Specialist says

"I worked at Fox Rothschild full-time for more than a year Cons: - Management rewards elitist, aggressively and abusive behavior. - Hard to maintain a work/life balance, unequal distribution of tasks. - Toxic office politics, advancement is predicated on the 'good ol' boy' system. - Incompetent and burnt out middle management. - Unsustainable, poorly managing growth; they aim to be one of the biggest firms in the US no matter the cost. - Its all about the money at the expense of everything else, ethics included. - Many partners harass lower level employees for sport. - Personal insults, leveling threats, screaming, and cursing is very common. - Culture of habitual blame shifting that causes issues across offices and departments. - A strong "us versus them" culture between the managers and attorneys and employees and staff. - High turn over and abysmal morale. Literally no one seemed happy, every sits in silence and eats lunch alone. - Highly conservative corporate culture with very little diversity. - impossible expectation and unreasonable attorneys."
