FG Wilson Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

FG Wilson is a leading global provider of prime power and back up power diesel generators, built in modern facilities in Europe, Asia and Americas.

A former quality specialist mentioned, "FG Wilson used to be a fantastic place to work but recently the company has become disengaged to employees due to talk of work being shipped to China. Morale has become extremely low too. Possible chance of business closing as its owned my caterpillar who is an American company and it seems like they have no patience in keeping any facilties in not just Northern Ireland but Europe."

Mechanical Design Engineer (Former Employee) says

"FG Wilson is a subsidiary of Caterpillar and was subject to all the uncertainies in the US market. I worked there at a time of global uneasiness about work and that really colored the job."

Line Operative (Former Employee) says

"Within this job there was 3 different shift patterns which you would work 1 each week, these were: nights, days and evenings. At the start it was hard but like anything you get used to it."

Former Employee - Production Operative - Through An Agency says

"I worked at FG Wilson full-time for less than a year Cons: Very strict on timekeeping and attendance, targets and usage of temporary staff. 3 days late or off work within 6 months and you are out - that was the rules when I was there. I also found that it takes a very long time (up to a year) for them to decide if they want to keep you on as a temporary worker or employ you as permanent worker. In my opinion, they seem to mostly recruit at the start of each year (Jan-Feb) and get rid of unsuccessful staff before christmas."

Former Employee - Project Manager says

"I worked at FG Wilson full-time for more than 5 years Cons: Weak senior management, no long term plans, knee jerk reactions to market conditions"

Current Employee - Accountant says

"I have been working at FG Wilson full-time for more than 3 years Cons: a lot of employees in fixed roles with no room to grow or be promoted"

Former Employee - Senior Engineer says

"I worked at FG Wilson full-time for more than 3 years Cons: Little innovation, Global trend of this industry is moving to the BRIC countries."

Former Employee - Engineer says

"I worked at FG Wilson full-time for more than a year Cons: High pressured, needs to be leaner in the transactional environment"
