Former Employee - Engineer says

"Management encourages competitive/adversarial behavior between different teams, while at the same time claiming a "family" workplace culture. Gossiping and attempts to gain the upper hand via business politics is commonplace. Mean spirited jokes are tolerated and said by Management themselves. Primary concern of management is to cover their own "assets" rather than having a level-headed approach to project/task priorities. Compensation is notoriously low and is widely known, causing employees with experience or drive to seek employment elsewhere. Open office environment is difficult to focus in."

Former Employee - Customer Service Representative says

"No commuter benefits, leader does not care about real life situations because they are privileged. Company is not diverse when it comes to African Americans. All leadership roles under the CEO are white women only one African American women takes a leadership role. They give you more responsibility under the same title and do not pay more. Company hires outside of the company rather then letting someone who knows how everything is ran move up."

Former Employee - Senior Middleware Engineer says

"ad-hoc and chaotic work structure with constant operational fire fighting, true is virtually non-existent spent years trying to improve and pickup skills and overall make things better, but there's no desire to improve process technology and grow the senior staff (unless they're original team members) despite having skills shortage of senior mw staff, they're solution was ti bring in entry level staff (which was really mind boggling) That and weekly (TPS) excel timesheet weekly report was to much and it was time to move.. unfortunate as I had every intention of retiring there, but just couldn't do it."

Former Employee - Software Engineer says

"This is an unfortunate characterization of our organization and certainly our CEO. Glassdoor is a great venue to pull the curtain back to learn about what it is really like to work within an organization and we respect an individual’s right to express their unique opinion on working at CSC. We would like job seekers to understand who we really are in order to validate a decision to join us. At CSC our values are service, teamwork, tenacity, agility, and genuine. We hope readers of this review take into account a variety of viewpoints when considering opportunities with CSC."

Current Employee - Software Engineer says

"Doesn't update you on important news until last minute"

Current Employee - Operations says

"The managers are liars. They make up fake survey results to win awards. They make promises when you get hired and then change or forget the promises after you accept the job. The VP's spend their time fighting with each other and stabbing each other in the back. The employees are just pawns in their games. The VP's are spending their money on a new building in Wilmington that's costing more than $50million and paying for it by cutting salaries, eliminating bonuses and cutting jobs. It's sickening. The customer support people are working weekends and holidays to finish processing (many of them earn just above minimum wage) and all of the profits go to the VP's to pay for their vacation homes, boats, horse ranches and vacations to Europe. It's disgusting."

"If you value your sanity stay away from help desk here. schoolyard nonsense goes on, skills don't matter, just how much you can kiss up to the team leaders."

Customer Service Associate (Current Employee) says

"If you want a company with culture , great employees and great manager this is not the company for you. The pay is horrible for the amount of work that you are required to do , don’t do it! Save yourself! Other offices especially headquarters in Delaware are better.Boss works remotelyPay is horrible for the amount of work they want you to do, lack of company culture, team leader does not take concerns seriously, turnover rate is high for the DC office once you Realize what you’ve gotten yourself into, very hectic work"

Event Staff (Former Employee) says

"There’s a lot of favoritism effecting scheduling and posts. No breaks or lunches. Supervisors treat employees like they’re subhuman. CSC. pays minimum wage and offers no raises in pay."

Operator (Former Employee) says

"Poor management all I can say! They also didnt paid you for the hours you worked but the hours they thought you should get paid for. Never gave you a heads up on when to come to work always last minute."

Security Guard (Current Employee) says

"CSC continuously feels the need to steal time and pay from its minimum wage employees. They regularly sign everyone out at a time when everyone has NOT stopped working through no fault of their own. CSC also "averages" your stop time up or down to nearest quarter hours but this is usually averages down unless it is past about the 2/3 point (10 minute mark) on the quarter hour. CSC also schedules work shifts as "Training" but does not tell you it is unpaid until afterwards. CSC management is stealing employees time and wages.Various work assignmentsEmployees shorted on their work time."

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) says

"there is a major lack of good management, no oportunities to advance and there are no annual increment in salary. the way they get away with not giving raises is to allow casual dress code, meaning you can wear jeans etc just not go in looking like you are about to hit up a gym.wear jeanseverything"

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) says

"I worked there for 2 years and I HATED it! very stressful and aggravating job, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.... Always getting in trouble over something and never could take a break"

Anonymous (Former Employee) says

"I worked with this company for several years and even under several different names.... In the time I was there, my responsibilities & workload increased significantly over the years; however, my paycheck and skill level did not. I did not even have a direct supervisor for years! Even though I regularly received exceeds expectations on Performance Appraisals, I received $0 compensation a few years or 2% raise at best, and absolutely no type of bonus. One year I was told that even though I had done my best work, they had to give me a lower rating because the company was trying to keep their costs down while bidding on the re-compete for the contract. Managers were often reassigned without any notification or introduction. I had not even met my last manager, when they called me to discuss my upcoming performance appraisal (for the first time in 2 years). When I expressed my dissatisfaction of the increased workload and responsibilities without receiving a commiserating pay increase or skill level increase.... I was told to quit if I didn't like it. I loved my job and the clients I supported and worked with but the company itself was horrible.Great clients. Challenging position. A steady (albeit low) paycheck for the length of contractlow pay, no advancement opportunities, low morale, no mentoring or training opportunities, uncaring environment"

Sr. System Analyst (Former Employee) says

"The group within this company I was assigned to was absolutely horrible. Between complete failure with travel, guidance, and even willfully ignoring a contract renewal made by the customer."

Arbeitsvorbereiter (Former Employee) says

"Mein Job umfasste jede Menge Verantwortung die nicht gewürdigt wurdeKeineKeine"

Event Security Guard (Former Employee) says

"Not the best place to work. If you follow the rules but not to the managers standards, you get little to no hours or scheduled for short hour events. Some great coworkers."

Service Desk Analyst (Former Employee) says

"típica empresa americana, donde te consideran un numero y donde echan de un día para otro personas super competentes"

Staff Associate (Former Employee) says

"Job was the same-not very challenging. CSC has a bad rep for the way they treat employees and that is true. Treat you like children.Management was cut throat always threatening with firing you.NoneStressful management"

Security Guard (Current Employee) says

"to work at especially there is a lot of favoritism and so much kiss assing at the work place plus the main boss doesn't correct most of the employees although some of the security guards going to the job while they are under the influence while they are on job site."

Senior Engineer (Current Employee) says

"Move along, nothing to see here. Executives who tell you raises and bonuses make employees lazy, yet cash out hundreds of thousands in options every couple weeks. Unrealistic expectations. There is no work / life balance at CSC. Take a week off for your kid's medical issue, you're pulled aside and reminded to still work. They remind you that it's only FMLA protecting you. Asked repeatedly why I couldn't use a laptop to work remotely while my kid was lying in a hospital bed for a week, hooked up to IV's."

Government Financial Accounts Manager (Former Employee) says

"I was out on contract and we were forgotten employees without support from our program office. I was extremely happy to leave. The only good thing is the attrition rate was low if you wanted to stay"
