Chanel /ʃəˈnɛl/, French pronunciation: [ʃanɛl] is a French fashion house that focuses on women's high fashion and ready-to-wear clothes, luxury goods, and accessories. The company is owned by Alain Wertheimer and Gérard Wertheimer, grandsons of Pierre Wertheimer, who was an early business partner of the couturière Coco Chanel. In her youth, Gabrielle Chanel gained the nickname "Coco" from her time as a chanteuse. As a fashion designer, Coco Chanel catered to women's taste for elegance in dress, with blouses and suits, trousers and dresses, and jewelry gemstone and bijouterie of simple design, that replaced the opulent, over-designed, and constrictive clothes and accessories of 19th-century fashion. The Chanel product brands have been personified by male and female fashion models, idols, and actresses, including Inès de La Fressange, Catherine Deneuve, Carole Bouquet, Vanessa Paradis, Nicole Kidman, Jackie Kennedy, Anna Mouglalis, Audrey Tautou, Keira Knightley, Kristen Stewart, Pharrell Williams, Jennie Kim, Cara Delevingne, and Marilyn Monroe.

Back  February 2020  Michelle Honig wrote a review for the  JEWISH TELEGRAPHIC AGENCY  in which she shares her opinion about Chanel and its anti-Semitic, Nazi past: “If you walk into any wealthy Jewish American neighborhood, a careful eye will spot designer duds - Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton - sported by well-coiffed men and women as they walk through town. But in a sea of expensive excess, one designer’s name is spoken of with an air of reverence: Chanel. It is a brand that can at once whisper and scream one’s bourgeois status. The boxy tweed jackets and white camellia flower pins are logo-less signatures that boldly state their coveted designer status without saying (or, in this case, embroidering or printing) a word. It’s that unique mix of modesty and immodesty that makes Chanel a household name among Orthodox and secular Jewish women alike. Chanel provides bewigged and be-hatted Hasidic women with stiff, below-the-knee boucle skirt suits while simultaneously appealing to the languorous Long Island crowd with its less understated interlocked “CC” logo branded crop tops and chokers. But Chanel wasn’t always beloved by the upwardly mobile Jewish American elite. The namesake French founder Coco Chanel, despite her contributions to the development of modern fashion and luxury sportswear, was, as other writers have put it, a “wretched human being” and an “incorrigible anti-Semite. Not only was she in bed with the Nazi cause, but there is strong evidence to suggest that she actively worked for the Nazis as a secret agent.”

Account manager was very impressive, but at the same time she was incredibly mean and frequently had people in tears. I was making much less than other people in my department while maintaining the highest sales. "You have no benefits, no insurance, no security and no stable hours. They make you work more and harass you to sell even though there are no customers. The dress code is very strict and will tell you to look home if they deem you to look ugly or if you don't have enough makeup on. I had to lie to customers constantly about products and their worth, and their products are too expensive so no one wants to buy. Furthermore, you have to do an extremely long exam about the history of chanel. the management is impossible to contact , and basically you're disposable, no one cares about you."

Husband bought me a coco Chanel watch as a gift from Hong Kong , recurved watch October 2018 upon opening watch noticed scratch on back of watch face, phoned into Chanel customer services, phone calls back and forth, after wearing watch for a few weeks whilst waiting for news re scratch I noticed that the watch was losing time, December 2018 watch sent in to the via courier, due to Xmas nothing till 26 January 2019, explained to me battery had to be replaced, and with regards to scratch they would need to follow up with Hong Kong store, after many chase up emails and phone calls, Recurved this reply.

As you can imagine, I was shocked to receive this response for a watch that is clearly expensive, and felt that I was being blamed for something I obviously did not do.
