CVS Health Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback
CVS Health (previously CVS Corporation or CVS Caremark Corporation) is an American healthcare company that owns CVS Pharmacy, a retail pharmacy chain, CVS Caremark, a pharmacy benefits manager, Aetna, a health insurance provider, among many other brands. The company's headquarter is in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Consumer Value Stores (CVS) was founded in 1963 by three partners: brothers Stanley and Sidney Goldstein and Ralph Hoagland, who grew the venture from a parent company, Mark Steven, Inc., that helped retailers manage their health and beauty aid product lines. The business began as a chain of health and beauty aid stores, but within several years, pharmacies were added. To facilitate growth and expansion, the company joined the Melville Corporation, which managed a string of retail businesses. Following a period of growth in the 1980s and 1990s, CVS Corporation spun off from Melville in 1996, becoming a standalone company trading on the New York Stock Exchange as CVS. It later completed a merger with the pharmacy benefit management company Caremark Rx in 2007, and was renamed CVS Caremark Corporation. The company was renamed CVS Health in 2014, following its decision to remove tobacco products from CVS Pharmacy store shelves. CVS Health's assets include CVS Pharmacy, CVS Caremark, CVS Specialty, and the retail clinic MinuteClinic.
One irritated customer said in a review, "Bad corporation. Bad pay. Long hours. Nothing but disrespect from patrons. Coworkers had serious problems. The CVS corporation itself feels faceless and the upper management I met were rude and dismissive."

Former Employee - Customer Service Representative says"extremely strict on call volume, scripting, call time. If you need to use the restroom they want you to take it away from your break time. This was very difficult for me at this time as I worked here throughout my pregnancy and needed to get up from my seat and walk for atleast 5 minutes some days. Very immature people worked here, was like a popularity show at high school."
Current Employee - Pharmacy Technician says"Low pay, and the nature of the company (huge, predictably bureaucratic) creates constant frustrations for employees"
Former Employee - Pharmacy Technician says"Way to high work load, with insanely short staff."
Current Employee - Staff Pharmacist says"Impossible metric goals Lacking raise and bonus potential Constant pressure to work off the clock and skip breaks Blame and shame culture Zero autonomy Disorganized HR department Inevitable burnout Excessive training modules and no time to do them Repeatedly in news stories for high error rates Minimal technician hours"
Current Employee - Staff Pharmacist says"No help, stressful, Harassed constantly, bullied"
Current Employee - Pharmacy Technician says"Bad pay Overworked Company does not care about employees No genuine concern for customers"

Lead Pharmacy Technician/Inventory Specialist (Former Employee) says"Worst company I ever worked for, and I've heard it's gotten worse since I left 5 years ago. All about the bottom dollar. Let's pay less staff and make them do more work! Let's put impossible metrics in place and when staff can't meet them, fire the staff and bring on younger, cheaper labor! Let's work people to the bone so they have nervous breakdowns and their family life gets the shaft! at least you get paid a littleeverything!"
Lead Pharmacy Technician/Inventory Specialist (Former Employee) says"You are easily replaced no matter how good of an employee you are. Retail pharmacy is ridiculous. Not enough staff and too much of a work load for one person. No support when it really matters. You do not matter to this company even after years of dedication and service. InsuranceSchedule"
Pharmacy technician (Former Employee) says"Poor training, rude management madeother employees miserable the entire shift, low pay, the list continues. Thinking of CVS and my time there makes my blood boil!Going homePay, short breaks"
Clinical Pharmacist (Former Employee) says"Emphasis placed on speed of review instead of quality of work. Technicians given too much responsibility and not held accountable. Extreme scrutiny of work after completed, including punctuation.Work from homeScrutiny and other rph judging of professional opinions"
Pharmacy Technician (Current Employee) says"District leadership is AWFUL and do not care about employee work/life balance... will continue to expect employees to go above and beyond with no reward."
Medicaid Operations Employee (Current Employee) says"Everyday feels like we're going to fold. There are not enough employees to handle routine tasks. Every department is understaffed, which means the existing staff is overworked. There are too many leaders without experience or skills to move the division forward. The employees who do work hard, work themselves to death and are not compensated, then leave. They are replaced by worst employees. Checks are never lateEverything else"
Shift Supervisor (Former Employee) says"So this company was good to work for in the begining, the benefits are outstadning and when your management vacation is great and pto and sick time is nice. if you have good upper management your set. The pay is minuscule i worked for this company for almost 12 years and never broke 11 dollars even with changing positions multiple times.benefits, pto sick timeupper management in small demographic areas are rude and racist."
Shift Supervisor (Former Employee) says"I dont recommend anyone to work for this company. Robbed at gun point and they expected me to go back to work after three hours. I thought I was going to die that day.NonePoor Management"
Cashier/Customer Service (Former Employee) says"If you're going to work here, expect handling everything on your own which includes picking up calls WHILE customers wait in line for you, People having trouble at self checkout, someone wants things that is locked up, and constantly photo machine trouble. It's a lot to handle when you're by yourself and no one is there to help you. Manager only counts the drawers and the cashier has to do all the work. The pay isn't even good but some employees that I worked with are actually nice and enjoy my time with them. Overall, on top of getting rude customers, trouble with coupons everyday. When you call someone on speaker, no one comes to you and most of the time it doesn't work. Really unorganized and the managers don't know how to "manage" anything. discountsBeing the only person working and no one helps you"
Pharmacy Technician (Former Employee) says"When I started I was promised 15-25 hours, after only two months of working there corporate cut hours to half and I was left working 8 hours a week. Management dismissed my concern and told me there was nothing they could do but have me work retail up front. My first two long shifts when I started I wasn’t given my lunch break because they were too busy. Also incredibly busy and overwhelming with only two to three techs working because there’s no hours to actually have a proper staff.Short breaks, bad management, poor pay"
Front Store Supervisor/Pharmacy Technician (Current Employee) says"This company is very unorganized, they aren't helpful when training comes about. The work environment is toxic and management is unhelpful and build the toxic work place for all employees. The pay is just ridiculous and Walmart is willing to pay more in the pharmacy than CVS is."
SR Team Lead Claim Representative (Former Employee) says"Terrible company RATE 0 Very bad company would never recommend, CVS bought our company out working there 7 years and end up closing the company. Very bad company human resources horrific NoneNone"
Shift Supervisor (Former Employee) says"This company cares more about the money they can make than the safety of their employees and customers. They have proved time and time again they would rather make a quick buck rather than promote safety. Especially when covid hit. The district manager doesn't care about you, corporate doesn't care about you, and neither does the store manager. They also pay really bad for the amount of work you have to do especially if you are in management. There are never any bonuses and raises are like 10 cents extra every 6 months so in about 5 years you'll have made a whole 1$ bump in your hourly pay. If you think this is the company for you, think again.there are no pros.everything"
IV Billing Representative (Former Employee) says"They do not appreciate nor recognise good employees. There is such a constant employee turnover that they have new people training newer people and they don't even know what they are doing so they teach the newer employees wrong."
Store Manager (Former Employee) says"It's like the mean girls working for thus company. If you don't do what everyone else is doing then they want you out. NEVER and I mean NEVER Are there enough hours to complete all tasks. Store gets hit by theft EVERYDAY and there are only ever 2 people working. Not safe work environment and management expects you to be security all while getting everything done. Expected ro work off the clock"
Lead Pharmacy Technician (Current Employee) says"Cvs has been the worst place to work and literally a nightmare. Expectations are through the roof yet management does zero to work as a team. Every day you know that you will be attacked for all the things you did not do which can literally be vacuuming. All task will be completed and ready for a shift change , nope the pharmacist coming in will find anything to push you to the ground . Zero appreciation. Worst decision ever.NoneChanging schedule every week"
Long Term Care Staff Pharmacist (Former Employee) says"Toxic and hostile environment; favoritism; micro management; managed by fear; information is a commodity; fails to communicate effectively, ran by the mean girls clique; a challenged pharmacy"
Pharmacy Technician (Former Employee) says"They suck! Have favorites that get away with everything. I do not recommend this place at all. Run run run Bad management in pharmacy. The techs are hateful to other techs and customers"
Pharmacy Technician (Former Employee) says"Worst company I’ve ever worked for. The management is horrible. Schedule you 8+ hours with no breaks. The training is rushed and the manager snapped at me when I didn’t recall something in the training I did online when it was crammed and I had to complete it so fast as well as not having any hands on training with a trainer at all. Management is constantly talking poorly about customers and other associates. I should also add that when I thought I possibly have COVID they were being pushy about me still coming into work not knowing if I was positive or negative. Don’t work for this location. It is a joke."
Pharmacy Technician (Former Employee) says"Lack of management. No appreciation. Laid off over 300+ staff but postion up job openings. The pay is not worth your hard work. No communication. No training. You get hired and get throw into work with no training twlling you what you need to do. Lazy management. People do what they want to do."
Debbie says"Got harassed and discriminated against. The manager was rude and vile at the Carlsbad Store on Rancho Santa Fe Rd, in San Diego CA."
Grummanflyer says"In Madison Indiana, they will not answer the pharmacy phone. Call wait time in excess of 30 minutes listening to a recording. They do not fill prescriptions that are sent by my dr. office unless I call and ask the status. Then they say they will fill it in 2 hours. Currently have an escript that has been there 8 days and still not filled. You cannot mention this pharmacy to anybody in town that doesn\'t hate the place."
Bill Amstutz says"I will never shop at any store that pushes communist masks, not even after the political hoax is over."
John says"They are available to take the money but not to give the results. I took a covid test 4+ days ago. Told in writing and verbal 2-4 days to get results. No results. Call to local branch yields nothing and I'm given a number to call. 50 min on hold and i'm told i misunderstand, it's 5-7 days. I say no, i have 2-4 right here in writing. They just keep saying 5-7 using the old adage if you say it enough it becomes true. I ask to talk with management, they put me on hold and leave me there for an hour. I'm sure in their CS metrics they mark off a successful call. I have to cancel business plans for the weekend which will likely cost me thousands as i can't risk being with others not knowing. They don't care, they get paid, I get stiffed and they move on to fleece the next person. Promise one thing, deliver nothing or maybe something late. Change the promise after customer act on it, all OK in their book I guess. Boycott, lots of other places to go."
Ka says"The absolute worst. Get this, I finally succumb to their relentless requests for auto refill. Then when it's time to refill "automatically" they tell me that they are out of the medication, as if the need for a refill came out of the blue. I mean it's on "auto" refill. What the hell?"
mrpmj00 says"I tried to redeem a reward with a physical receipt, but they said they needed the card otherwise I can't redeem it. I can verify my phone number and driver's license but still they refused. Thieves."
Marcy says"CVS has to be one of the worst companies I have ever worked for. They don\'t care about their employees, especially the pharmacists, and they don\'t reward any hard work. They reward with longer hours on holidays for the customers and we just get a \"Thank you\" email. I love my coworkers, but the customers are mostly disrespectful, unintelligent (I\'m not being mean, its honestly the truth. They don\'t read or listen well), and just horribly rude. I have to say, this job showed me the worst and the highest level of stupidity in people."
MJ says"8 years of bullying, harassment to achieve unattainable goals, sighing our initials on forms for voids, and price modifications when it is all the fault of really bad IT work, probably due to lack of pay; being turned from customer service into a sales person because they want money for crappy member ships. Constant harassment of the customers for emails, donations (always during the holidays!). Now...Im about to take on CVS. I called for a request for accommodation because I have a very torturous time wearing a mask for more than 20-30min before it becomes crying and anxiety (from childhood rape). I called april 7th. I did not hear ANYTHING until Aug, and then only pre-generated letter asking me to fill and file medical docs. I dont have health care (too expensive, especially when trying to pay bills by yourself, school loans, and taking care of pet that is supposed to be good for those with mental illness;)). Then I heard NOTHING more until Nov 6th!!! Then two letters. One fraudulently approving my leave of absence that I was told I had to file to keep my job, even though website says it is NOT a guarantee. The other letter telling me I was more than two weeks late coming back to work for my return date that had to be pushed from April 30 to Aug 30 due to lack of communication on their part! Basically this whole mess, I have to appeal with the unemployment office. I feel CVS is fraudulent af! Their website they reach out in 3 business days, FMLA laws require response in 5 days! And I have to prove that even though I have no docs I have mental illness (PTSD anxiety depression, etc). ADA mentions \"regarded as\" so maybe I can get a few who know me to write letters saying \"yes she clearly has issues\". Hope I didnt share too much. Wish me luck. "
