Becton Dickinson Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

Becton, Dickinson and Company, commonly known as BD, is an American medical technology company that manufactures and sells medical devices, instrument systems, and reagents. BD also provides consulting and analytics services in certain geographies. Founded in 1897 and headquartered in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, BD employs nearly 70,000 people in more than 50 countries throughout the world. In the fiscal year ending September 30, 2019, more than 40% of BD sales were generated from non-U.S. markets.

A former employee of Becton Dickinson said "In Becton Dickinson they preach about offering advancement for hard work and what not, how it's supposed to be a good work environment, and how Becton Dickinson are a main source of medical supplies. Personally the introduction training is a horrible mess. Management lies about offering you jobs for advancement based on work ethic. Was personally told to apply for a better position because of my work ethic by and then they hired someone else for the job I was staying for. Then they have kizons. It's essentially any dumb idea anyone comes up with they throw in and don't even double check to see if it's even useful. It's a joke management needs to be fixed."

Tell the world why Becton Dickinson sucks!

Former Employee - Senior Software Development Engineer In Test (SDET) says

"Bond agreements which is illegal Office politics at its high, HR is a live statue of false promises or statements Open door policy with closed ears , conveyed message to upper level is waiste of time No job security, company fire by name of bad performance when they want but yes you will get noticed period time to find job. Zero learning and career growth All power in manager hand if you you lick his feet you will get good appraisal"

Current Employee - Software Engineer says

"Favourism is very high. Poor management."

Current Employee - Software Engineer says

"Lots of politics. Old employees sitting for long time and don’t give chance to new one"

Former Employee - WW Supply Planner says

"Full of favoritism. It's not at all easy to work under the old mentality leadership. At least provide basic training on the product, process and business rather than showing high expectation from the first day. And most importantly, don't compare with your former employee who had spent only 2 years and has already left. Everyone has specific set of skills and knowledge and you should know how to hire, polish and respect. There is no open door for the discussions and ideas. And never judge on one's personal lifestyle. If someone is a smoker, manager doesn't have any rights to comment. Focus on smart works rather than the manual works with too much complexity."

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"too much politics, work pressure and favoritism. You need to do lot of clerical work"

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"Poor leadership, target focused rather than customer and employee. Anything can happen to employee and customer but the numbers had to be achieved. Worst incentive policies and they ensure that we are not receiving any even we achieve no’s. Stating that the report has been not submitted on time. The leadership and mid level team doesn’t show any compassion to front line staffs of BD across all division and treat them badly. No support at the time of problem at customer end. managers and top level, they will say I need no’s. And won’t come to field to solve that issue for you. Worst expense policy in the industry for frontline staff who bring business. They talk big of processes and take ages to approve on request raised. They hire people from outside for managerial roles and doesn’t promote internal employee even they have worked for 10 years for company and least bothered to enhance the skill and up bring the employee. Worst work life balance."

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"- Immature Indian leadership resulting in sharp value erosion - Company core Values are declining sharply - Company is constantly firing employees of 40+ age - Company has got rid of all senior employees of 50+ age to save on salary cost - Employees who had 9 out 10 years as outstanding performance were asked to go when they had medical issue for just couple of months and could not attend office - Company is missing all targets under new leadership (last 2-3 years)."

Former Employee - Applications Scientist says

"1. Too much hierarchy driven organisation 2. Very poor HR and poorly managed people 3. The recognition are largely driven by personal preferences of management. 4. Poor vision of top management 5. they talk a lot about horizontal growth and very clever in allowing vertical growth"

"Unsafe work environment for women employees. Too much work politics, no work life balance"

Former Employee - ASM says

"very bad politics at management, don't have business strategies, admin work middle management, wrong decision making."

Medical Biller (Former Employee) says

"Trust your gut with this company. The culture is immature and unprofessional. Ridiculously short “training” period is followed by a “we’ve gone over this” response to any question . Lower management is woefully unwilling/unable to provide the bare minimum of assistance. Like many poorly run organizations, you’re used up and thrown away without a second thought. If you take this job, you deserve what you get because you have been warned. Oh, I hope you like the stench of disgusting cigarette smoke because that’s what almost everyone there smells like. You dress like a slob, no one caresLower management, floor assistant"

Orderpicker (Former Employee) says

"Ondankbaarwerk ! Liever niet proberen echt zwaar en j wordt niet gewaardeerd als werk nemerPicking chillStappel werk je rug gaat er sowieso aan en echt aan"

Opérateur de production / agent conditionnement (Former Employee) says

"conditionnement , contrôle qualité , horaire trois huit , endroit propre moderne , aucunes contraintes"

Sales Representative (Current Employee) says

Warehouse Associate (Former Employee) says

"I couldn't wait to get out of this definition of a dead end job. No opportunity for advancement or raise. No matter how hard you work. Not to mention no transparency. They will use you for a year then let you go."

Production Operator/Packer (Former Employee) says

"Team leaders attitude towards lower paid staff is horrendous, if you stand up for what you think is right and not what they think is right they will make up excuses to get you fired, there is alot of backstabbing and malicious behaviour with colleagues, and also staff are known to do alot of gross misconduct, physical harrassment and assault towards female co workers."

Formulator (Former Employee) says

"High turnover rates, bullying and harassment is swept under the rug for the sake of production. Sabotage and high number of QN’s that is used to fire staff is high but only for particular people. Management and Leadership is poor. Working here, there is no work life balance involving working 6 to 7 days a week every week for 10 plus hours a shift. But you can not make mistakes, all must be perfect. Can’t be human and make errors. No call outs for family, life circumstances because it will get one into corrective action if excessive. Which is normal but... that will be used against you because QN’s and attendance is used simultaneously against you which will place one in corrective action sooner. Don’t use your time although it’s given freely. Don’t run out of your time because that’s when accumulating points are against you. Better take pictures of everything and everything in writing. And the segregation is noticeable.N/aAll mentioned above and more not mentioned."

Project Manager (Former Employee) says

"Company only cares about profit. Management horrible. Disrespectful, toxic behavior is allowed & rewarded. Real job TRAINING/mentoring doesn't exist."

Assembler (Former Employee) says

"Working here was like being back in highschool with people 18 and up don’t work here I wouldn’t recommend to no one they don’t care about you and they don’t like new people they talk about you behind your back just a bunch of unnecessary drama"

Analyst (Former Employee) says

"There was high turn over rate when I started. Typical shared services environment. Management plays the " we inherited this mess " and behind closed doors blames the very employees that always get them out of their binds. There continues to be high a high turnover rate as the new finance director is infuriating and/or alienating everyone until they leave (cleaning house) I would not recommend this place to my enemies!"

Accounts Payable Specialist - Contract (Former Employee) says

"There was no enjoyable part at working for BD. I didn't like the management style because they like to micromanage. The hardest part was learning new software."

Team Member (Former Employee) says

"BD is a horrible place to work. The management suck, the pay sucks and there is no HR. Everything is corporate now. They hire felons and the people who work there will drain the life out of you. Way to much drama, and way to many fake people. Very hostile environment, and all around a waste of over 9 years of my life."

Trainer (Current Employee) says

"The management have no place in management. poor communication skills, They are not true leaders. They care more about quantity then quality. It is a shame because this place had so much potential. They also let people go that had been with the company for over 15 years just to save money."

Quality Engineer (Former Employee) says

"I am not a christian, I was pushed around and picked on until I stood up for myself and then Human Resources punished me for the act of self preservation and I was eventually forced to look for new opportunities. The Broken Bow Location was very difficult to live in as a non-local or a transplant from outside that small town's citizenry. Do not move in from of out the region they are very 1950s oriented.low crimenot an open community"

Laserweld Operator (Former Employee) says

"They offer no help to those that are injured on the job. You are given vacation time but expected to use it during their shutdown times. The pay is the only good thing about that place"

Material (Former Employee) says

"The company only cares for number, the employees are nothing to them, they will work you until you literally can’t no more, do yourself a favor and look somewhere else, also there is no privacy for personal life everyone knows everything about each otherPaid days offEverything else"

"I basically have nothing great to say. This company underpays you and overworks a person. The company only cares about productivity and nothing else. Manager is like watch dogs.NoneLow pay"

thomas jack says

"I ordered 5 enema buckets, you sent me 5 buckets but only 4 hoses. I want my other hose. The hose is the part that needs to be replaced on mine!"

Unhappy First Time Customer says

"I had issues with the person on the phone trying to order a product, so I completed it on-line myself. Then the next day, I get a voicemail that I needed a prescription which my doctor faxed over the same day I made the order and gave me a copy. I contacted Vitality Medical and they could not find my order. I gave them the order number and the person on the phone said she would call me back as she didn't know how to handle the situation. I hope this is the first and last time I have to deal with Vitality Medical as this has been a HORRIBLE experience!!!"
