Becton, Dickinson and Company, commonly known as BD, is an American medical technology company that manufactures and sells medical devices, instrument systems, and reagents. BD also provides consulting and analytics services in certain geographies. Founded in 1897 and headquartered in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, BD employs nearly 70,000 people in more than 50 countries throughout the world. In the fiscal year ending September 30, 2019, more than 40% of BD sales were generated from non-U.S. markets.
A former employee of Becton Dickinson said "In Becton Dickinson they preach about offering advancement for hard work and what not, how it's supposed to be a good work environment, and how Becton Dickinson are a main source of medical supplies. Personally the introduction training is a horrible mess. Management lies about offering you jobs for advancement based on work ethic. Was personally told to apply for a better position because of my work ethic by and then they hired someone else for the job I was staying for. Then they have kizons. It's essentially any dumb idea anyone comes up with they throw in and don't even double check to see if it's even useful. It's a joke management needs to be fixed."

At least provide basic training on the product, process and business rather than showing high expectation from the first day. And most importantly, don't compare with your former employee who had spent only 2 years and has already left. Everyone has specific set of skills and knowledge and you should know how to hire, polish and respect. There is no open door for the discussions and ideas. And never judge on one's personal lifestyle. If someone is a smoker, manager doesn't have any rights to comment. Focus on smart works rather than the manual works with too much complexity."

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee says"Poor leadership, target focused rather than customer and employee. Anything can happen to employee and customer but the numbers had to be achieved. Worst incentive policies and they ensure that we are not receiving any even we achieve no’s. Stating that the report has been not submitted on time. The leadership and mid level team doesn’t show any compassion to front line staffs of BD across all division and treat them badly. No support at the time of problem at customer end. managers and top level, they will say I need no’s. And won’t come to field to solve that issue for you. Worst expense policy in the industry for frontline staff who bring business. They talk big of processes and take ages to approve on request raised. They hire people from outside for managerial roles and doesn’t promote internal employee even they have worked for 10 years for company and least bothered to enhance the skill and up bring the employee. Worst work life balance."

Ridiculously short “training” period is followed by a “we’ve gone over this” response to any question . Lower management is woefully unwilling/unable to provide the bare minimum of assistance. Like many poorly run organizations, you’re used up and thrown away without a second thought. If you take this job, you deserve what you get because you have been warned. Je vous conseille de fuir. Une plateforme polonaise incompétente avec qui vous perdez du temps à expliquer les process."

Sales Representative (Current Employee) says"Der Täter wurde nicht sanktioniert, viel mehr noch vom leadership gefeiert. Er tat es in der Öffentlichkeit, in Anwesenheit der Kunden und Zivilisten, die Aussage der mutigen Kollegin wurde durch Ethikkomission manipuliert, der Sales Manager drehte im gleichen Moment als er sah was sein "best buddy" tat, den Kopf damit er später für ihn lügen kann. Die Business Managerin übte später Druck auf die Geschädigte sie solle ihren Strafnatrag zurückziehen. Staatsanwaltschaft sah die Schuld als erwiesen und stufte es als "geringes Vergehen", belehrte und verwarnte den Täter. Für die Firma immer noch kein Schuldbeweis! Der Täter wird noch bei Tagungen gefeiert. Die Geschädigte wurde vor der versammelten Mannschaft von der Business Managerin öffentlich diffamiert und der falschen Tatsachen beschuldigt und verhielt sich gesetzeswidrig im sinne der Verleumdung. Alles in einem ein Armutszeugnis für dieses ach so "we're dooing what right is" Weltkonzern und perspektivisch gesehen ein nachhaltiger Imageschaden der sicherlich extern nicht gut ankommen wird....KeineS.o."

Production Operator/Packer (Former Employee) says"Team leaders attitude towards lower paid staff is horrendous, if you stand up for what you think is right and not what they think is right they will make up excuses to get you fired, there is alot of backstabbing and malicious behaviour with colleagues, and also staff are known to do alot of gross misconduct, physical harrassment and assault towards female co workers."
Formulator (Former Employee) says"High turnover rates, bullying and harassment is swept under the rug for the sake of production. Sabotage and high number of QN’s that is used to fire staff is high but only for particular people. Management and Leadership is poor. Working here, there is no work life balance involving working 6 to 7 days a week every week for 10 plus hours a shift. But you can not make mistakes, all must be perfect. Can’t be human and make errors. No call outs for family, life circumstances because it will get one into corrective action if excessive. Which is normal but... that will be used against you because QN’s and attendance is used simultaneously against you which will place one in corrective action sooner. Don’t use your time although it’s given freely. Don’t run out of your time because that’s when accumulating points are against you. Better take pictures of everything and everything in writing. And the segregation is noticeable.N/aAll mentioned above and more not mentioned."

Management plays the " we inherited this mess " and behind closed doors blames the very employees that always get them out of their binds. There continues to be high a high turnover rate as the new finance director is infuriating and/or alienating everyone until they leave (cleaning house) I would not recommend this place to my enemies!"

Unhappy First Time Customer says"I had issues with the person on the phone trying to order a product, so I completed it on-line myself. Then the next day, I get a voicemail that I needed a prescription which my doctor faxed over the same day I made the order and gave me a copy. I contacted Vitality Medical and they could not find my order. I gave them the order number and the person on the phone said she would call me back as she didn't know how to handle the situation. I hope this is the first and last time I have to deal with Vitality Medical as this has been a HORRIBLE experience!!!"
