Beauty Bar Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

Trade Secrets (also doing business as Glamour Secrets) is a Canadian beauty retailer and salon founded in 1990 by Joseph Bellotti and Mitch Petrera. Beauty supplies include hair care, styling appliances, hair extensions, skin and body care, cosmetics, nail care, waxing products, and accessories. Trade Secrets stores can be found in the provinces of Ontario and Quebec, while Glamour Secrets stores operate in all other Canadian provinces, such as Alberta, and New Brunswick, as well as locations in the U.S. Trade Secrets and Glamour Secrets, have both corporate and franchisee locations.

Katie S. from Vancouver, BC shared some thoughts about Beauty Bar in a review she wrote for YELP: "This store is so pretty that can't help but walk in every time I pass by. It's a girly-girl's dream with cosmetics and jewelry and accessories. I drool as I look around. And then I just leave. Why? Because it's overpriced. The brands that I can afford are sold at other, more convenient locations. Sure, there are a few unique items that might deserve a splurge and can't be found easily, but for the most part, that's not the case. If the service was incredible I might be willing to cut some slack, but I can't say it was anything special. So yes, it's a make-up lover's mecca, but it's just a lot of glamour and glitter and not a lot of substance."

"It is a nice environment but the owner is very bias. I wasn’t treating fairly there, the owner in favor of the long time employee versus new employee."

Licensed Massage Therapist (Former Employee) says

"was told that they would bring clients in for me, then was later let go for not bringing enough business in. Owner was finicky and controlling. Coworkers were tolerable, but not friendly."

Makeup Artist (Former Employee) says

"A good place to work and I enjoyed majority of my time there, I had to leave due to unforeseen circumstances also i was unhappy in the job towards the end of my time there. Cons: Low pay for the job"

Former Employee - Receptionist says

"I worked at Beauty Bar part-time for less than a year Cons: Favoritism, inflexibility, workplace drama, minimum wage"

Former Employee - Licensed Massage Therapist says

"I worked at Beauty Bar full-time for more than 10 years Cons: The owners and management turned a deaf ear to their workers' concerns and suggestions. Products necessary for performing one's job were often our of stock. One of the owners would need to run off to the nearest store in order to provide the technicians with the products they needed. These products were poor substitutes, and certainly were not worth the money the owners charged as a part of the client's services. The salon was not kept clean and clients noticed this and commented to the technicians. This was embarrassing and could easily have been a reason for a client deciding to not return. The morale was often low, due to the owners' disregard and lack of interest in their employees. It was not uncommon for employees to be actively seeking other employment. It was rare to receive a compliment for a job well done, but any mistake was presented at meetings, with enough specific information that everyone could pinpoint the technician of whom the owners were referring. In a nutshell, the owners and management would benefit from a course in ethics."

Developer says

"I worked at Beauty Bar for less than a year Cons: - Small Company - Not enough resources"

Jennifer says

"I would give ZERO stars if possible. I ordered 2 items on April 16th that, as of June 16th still haven't arrived. 3 emails to customer service went unresponded to. They finally acknowledged me on June 8th promising to have an answer for me within 24 hours as to the status of my order. 8 days later.....still no response. I question if this is even a legit business. Please don't make the same mistake I did. Order form another, credible company."

Dips dua says

"I bought groupon voucher for 3 treatments and I called them that I am running 10min later when I reached they informed me that we have to cancel my one treatment, the lady was very rude too will
Never go again and will not recommend as when I told my friend she said that they similar to her too bad customer service and rude staff !!"

Ainslie says

"I specifically bought some makeup brushes from Beautybay as they offered free next day delivery and I needed them for my holiday which I was leaving for 3 days later.

They arrived a day after I left for my holiday so took 4 days to arrive.

Advertising next day delivery is dishonest as they clearly do not have a next day service in place but advertise this to get people to buy from them."

Robert Klein says

"I ordered an item by mistake and realized it was the wrong product. I contacted immediately after I ordered to cancel. Never heard a word and the product arrived. (Several weeks later)

There are much better companies on line with better prices. I would never do business with this company again!"

Margarita Lacabe says

"I subscribed to their Allure Sample Society box. They knowingly shipped it without the high-price item they guaranteed would be in the box, and rather than refund the whole price of the box, all they would do is give customers a $5 credit. They wouldn't even mail a different item to make up for the missing one."
