Balance is a family owned and operated company, with apparel designed from scratch with all body types in mind.

A dissapointed buyer shares some thoughts about Balance athletica, I would say athletica runs inconsistent with their sizing based on color. Ordered the same pant in the same size but two different colors and had to return one of them as it was much more snug. I know the darkness of the dyes can affect the fit but these were both pretty dark and is usually only an issue with jeans

"I worked at BALANCE full-time for more than 3 years Cons: I debated whether I should even post a review because hardly anyone thinks this place will still be around in a year but the way I see it, if I can get someone to think twice before applying here then I’ve done my job. Terrible place to work. The job itself is extremely stressful and the only way to retain workers is by making other aspects of the company enticing, but we didn’t have any of that. Managers micromanage your statuses (you always have to keep your statuses updated on your computer). We have consistently been given more and more procedures and hardly any training to learn them. Whenever someone quits they just move people around to fill the gap instead of hiring. It comes to the point where most clients you talk to are stressed from the get go because they’ve been on hold forever. The management team has little experience in credit so you won’t be getting any help from them if you’re new. They’re nice but useless when it comes to managing the workload. They do meetings with the credit department every once in a while and will use so many rhetorical fallacies that I always loathed going to those meetings. What’s even more annoying is that they're disguised so well as public speaking skills that most people don’t catch on to them . Ultimately BALANCE is not on your side but will consistently try to convince you that they are. Many people gave them good advice on their exit interviews but they didn’t take any of it. That’s because so long as the place is minimally running, they’re ok with people quitting. I’ve worked retail jobs that made me feel more valued than this place. By the way they just outsourced the operations department."

There is an enormous pressure on client services and counselors and coaches to get more clients, to book appointments, to sell the service. Extreme changes in scheduling create chaos daily, and interfere with work/life balance. Layoffs. People leaving due to the stress and pressure. This leaves the remaining employees over worked, under paid, under appreciated. Endless emails and micromanagement. No Training. Core values exist on paper, but are not really valued."

Ask any number of employees what the organization does and you will get widely differing answers. 3. Staff were increasingly unhappy with relatively low pay and negative work environment. 3. There are still 3 separate websites for the organization:,, — all of which have nothing in common from a brand perspective. 3. Credit union clients were leaving in droves because of high cost and low service in comparison to other providers of similar services."

They threw me on the phones with not enough training. If I want to help a client I have to walk to that department and ask for help. RIDICOLOUS. We dont know who to go to when resolving issues I feel bad for the client and I know understand why people work here for a short period. I was shock when I tried to help a upset client and transfer him to customer support and found out there is only one rep answering the phone."

"I worked at BALANCE full-time Cons: The turnover rate at this place is ridiculous. Most people don't make it past training and if they do then they don't last very long. The training is way too short and this leads to employees feeling frustrated and unprepared to help clients with their difficult financial problems. Clients literally wait for over a month to get an appointment because this place is so understaffed. Sure, sometimes there are snacks in the break room, and there are arcade games, but you can't compensate for poor management by giving people free bagels and video games. The pay is low while the cost of living in the Bay Area is high. The amount of work you have to do each day is overwhelming and there are always tons of basically wait listed appointments each day because counselors quit so often and their appointments have to get covered somehow. Most people who work here are miserable and are looking for new work."

"Management does not have any leadership skills. Lots of favoritism, If you don't kiss the right butt you're not going to make it. No matter how productive you are, it's never good enough for them. They pressure you and make you feel worthless despite all your efforts and meeting your goals. Management never had concrete answers for anything, they never follow through with what they say. They threaten you every chance they get, God forbid you have a family emergency if you leave early you'll get a write up for sure. You MUST be available 24/7. They expect you to breath, eat and live Balance Staffing. Cons: Toxic environment, poor management and leadership."

"I was hired on the spot to start the next day I got to work on time and ready to work...I learned they don't train you on anything they kind of just throw you in there I had to ask other employees what to do and where to the interview I was promised my 40 hours a week yet when I got there we only worked 3 hours then went home.and there's no time clock a person writes your time in and out which is very unprofessional to me. Long story short if you have a family to provide for this is not the company for you they juice you up in the interview but in actuality you don't get your hours. Cons: Heavy lifing"

"At first you'll get 40-60 hours than out of nowhere they'll stop requesting you. Pay is terrible, work is boring, company is incompetent. There are whole weeks that go by that I don't even work. You're just a temp, and that's how they treat you. You're not equal to the employees at the warehouse, you're less than they are, and that's how management treats you. If the incompetent supervisors break one of the machines (which happens daily) prepare to stand around for three hours, or prepare to go home and not return to work for about two and a half weeks. You'll be lucky if you make enough to put gas in your car, or pay your phone bill. So many really good and hard working people were laid off or quit do to how the place is run. I advise anyone not to even waste their time and energy on this warehouse position. Cons: Low pay, less than 20 hours a week, terrible supervisors, boring, poor management"

"This was first experience with this agency. I waited about 45 mins the girls at thr front desk were so busy talking to other girls ignoring the packed office. I interviewed was told to come back later in the day. I waited another 30 mins said they needed to do drug test and background check and would get back to me. I never got a call back i kept calling all day no one answered the phone voicemail fill. After a week went back cause i couldnt get a response from the Recuiter. They never did do my background after leaving me hanging over a week. After all that the recuiter said they didnt have anything available i was not happy. I got a call from another recuiter for a production it was worest job on my feet 8 hours a day very physical i expressed my concerns they didnt seem to care if i got injured on the job. The graveyard was rude asked me if i wanted to released i said no i needed a job. It was the worest experience when i told them i have issues with my bad back. It wasnt a good paying either they didnt give all the info about the pay periods either i needed all my money that i had already worked the hours had to wait another week to get all my pay. I wouldnt go through this agency they dont follow through with anything i wasted my time.Its all about making $$ for the agency. Cons: Didnt care about you pay is low for the work you do"
