Argos Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

The Toronto Argonauts (officially the Toronto Argonaut Football Club, commonly referred to as the Argos) are a professional Canadian football team competing in the East Division of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Based in Toronto, Ontario, the team was founded in 1873, and is the oldest existing professional sports team in North America still using its original name, and they are the oldest-surviving team in both the modern-day CFL and East Division.

A former employee said this in a review: "I didn't enjoy being a part of the football team with the Toronto Argonauts. It has been a bad experience to go to another country and experience another culture. I haven't learned a lot about Canada and Canadians through this experience. I hated this experience".

Customer assistant (Former Employee) says

"Managers are unprofessional, lazy, unempathetic, and inept Cons: Managers"

Trading support manager. (Former Employee) says

"I worked for Argos for just over a year on a part-time basis and then full time for the first leg of my career i loved working there, my colleague's were great the management were too, I actually looked forward to going into work. Cons: Everything"

Customer Advisor (Former Employee) says

"Worked there for 6 years at in 2 of the bradford stores and was extremely depressed as a result. Horrendous workplace culture. If you weren't sucking up to management you were treated like dirt on people's shoes. Not worth the stress. Only stayed because I needed to work while studying."

Customer Service Assistant (Former Employee) says

"- No set hours Cons: The Job"

Manager (Former Employee) says

"Wouldn't want to work for them again. It's a one way storm of managerial abuse and daily pressure to hit unrealistic targets through out stock rotation is a joke and most managers are looking for reasons to fire you. There is no recognition of going above and beyond Cons: Everything"

Delivery Driver (Former Employee) says

"All weekends none off. Some starts at three thirty am. Not enough work you stay in the warehouse so lose drivers pay. Also, if you finish early less pay. Cons: Work every weekend"

Warehouse Picker (Former Employee) says

"I had a rough ride as I hurt my feet on a previous job so I wasn't allowed back and I had a sick note and I wasn't paid for sickness neither could I claim benefits for sickness. The training daysand one day work I was never paid for and I spent all day with faulty voice command systems that should be used by PDA instead of voice equipment along with they fire people for mistakes and not enough pick rate where it is the company's system fault as the fault happened to me an their new rule is that you have to write down who leaves cardboard boxes in the way. Agree they should be picked up but that's up to the management not us to do all their jobs for them because fighting all this is an impossible task whilst increasing the pick rate. STS Flooring runs alot better. I have to say It wasn't all the reason I left it was also too far to travel, expenses and also having to be in early Sunday, no trains are available so impossible to be in on time without a car. I HEARD THIS ALOT WHEN I WAS TRAINING FROM REGLAR STAFF THAT WORKED THERE Cons: Poorly run, short lunchtimes, poor systems, poor management, poor pickrate system, no sick pay and don't get paid for days being in. Worse company to work for"

Stockroom Assistant/Sales Assistant (Former Employee) says

"I worked at Argos for a number of years, the staff were horrible, clicky and made you feel unwelcome. They would always be looking for a way to stab you in the back. The management were a joke. They were not understanding of mental health problems and did not accommodate whatsoever. The management were also incredibly unprofessional and would say horrible comments about staff members behind others backs. I felt I couldn't trust anybody while I worked there. The job itself was a shambles, there were far too many unrealistic targets set for staff and the time to achieve such tasks or targets were unachievable. I will also mention customers who for the most part were rude and didnt treat you like a human being. But that's like most retail so that's about the only things I cant blame Argos for in regards to the negative experience I had working for them. There is absolutely nothing positive I can say about this company. Do not work for them. Cons: Everything."

Delivery driver (Former Employee) says

"Terrible place to work, manipulative bullies with poor junior management right up to store manager. Double standards. I worked there for a year, loved the job but boy o boy they got there heads up there a55es. Even the staff 10% discount is a insult considering the starting price.. good luck, you will surely need it Cons: Shifts allover the place, management 2 faced, inconsistentcy in management."

"dont bother ,use this as a means to the end ,you will be treated like a number ,you will work at pace with if your lucky 30 min which is really a 20 min break due to the time it takes to sign out ,go through security ,have a quick smoke ,a brew in an 8 hour shift ,you will walk thousands of miles ,you will be told to walk and work faster with little or no staff ,your weekends will be gone ,forget them ,management ,theres loads of them ,fat and lazy sat in an office ,you will be treated like a piece of shi,,,,dont go ,you will have a mental breakdown ,all argos are interested in is money ,,,, Cons: long hours, marathon walking at pace"

Picker and Packer (Former Employee) says

"It wasn’t a nice place to work . I couldn’t understand why they were taking on more people and then cancelling shifts off of other people. For example I’ve had a rota for 12 weeks and it’s never been right . Every week I had one shift cancelled . They were so unfair . Even the supervisor did nothing else but Moan at me. Cons: Everything"

"Working at Argos is a joke. Cons: Poor wages"

Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) says

"The job wasn’t so hard but the management made your life harder then needed to be. The job it self was decent however if it’s up to the team leaders then they can put you in places you don’t want to be in. And there is a lot of ‘it’s not what you know, it’s who you know’ Cons: Everything from pay to management to job"

A.B says

"Rude staff, aggressive team member . Its big failure when it comes how Argos deals with customers complaints, they are disrespectful and covering their staff mistakes. I had to report to met.police that one of their manager was aggressive to me and my daugther while i was in visit to their store in London. And they refused to admit it even i have witness and i will seek legal advise. Operation team seating in their Office and doesnot know what's going on in their store. Its 226 reviews here rated about poor service ...hope they can understand what damage they are doing to their name by ignoring customers complaints."
