ampm (rarely "am/pm") is a convenience store chain with branches located in several U.S. states, including Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and in several countries such as Costa Rica and Brazil. The brand pulled out of the Eastern United States in 2012.

Anuj S. from Cypress, CA complained in a review for YELP about terrible customer service Terrible customer service and poor satisfaction at ampm:

"Me and my friend came here to buy some slurpies. I took a cup and saw a flavor that I hadn't tasted before. I took a small sample thinking it was no big deal, as I wanted to know the flavor of it before actually purchasing it. The amount i took wouldn't have even been a full sip. I tasted it and didn't like the taste so I threw it away. I had the cash and was fully intended to buy a slurpie. Before I could even pay for it the store manager rudely told me off for throwing away a small taste that was so little that it wasn't even a mouthful amount. He forced me to pay for it despite it being of such little amount. Never going back here again and I recommend everyone else to rather go to the 7-11 on the other side of the street."

"They wouldn't pay me for my full shift, if a problem occurred during a shift, the manager was uncountable. Training was worthless, small important things like cleaning a gas spill were completely ignored during training. If a co-worker called out, you were left alone, even though my store was in the middle of downtown and was always busy. During these shifts, it was impossible to stock inside the fridge, and you would be written up for not completing tasks like these. Just a terrible job."

"This bussiness scans all employees, lenders u name it, they buy stuff from the dollar tree and Costco and then bring it back to the store break it down and sell it for higher price"

"They pay weekly but manager and one of the assistant manager will not help any of the cashiers. But some coworkers are willing to switch their shift if you need a day off."

"I Was offered a job by am pm after attending interview . I was told I would contacted for my first day of training , and I was never was. Terrible company poor communication habits with new hires , I called them and asked when I was going to be trained , and they just kept postponing it . I decided to work elsewhere with a more reliable employer .If your a student this is not a good fit job for anyone because I was treated very poorly upon hire .."

Night Attendant (Former Employee) says

"The management made it impossible for anyone to have any kind of set schedule or a life outside of work. Some days I would work 12 hour shifts because they didn't have cover for the next shift. I was they only graveyard attendant and I would have to leave the front of the store open while I did my prep work for the morning crew. I wasn't allowed to close the doors on store because management told me I couldn't. Also with being the only person on the graveyard shift I wasn't able to take my lunch or breaks. I wasn't allowed to take time off or take a sick day no matter how sick i was.We could take draws on checksOnly one night attendant made it hard to get things done."

"I wouldn't recommend anyone to work at any of the Am Pm's in Tucson AZ because if you refuse to risk your life to chase thieves out the door then your replacement will be assured. Was instructed by Manager to risk my life to chase thieves out the doors and risk being stabbed or shot. Even customers would show concern for my life while guarding the door from thieves.Free lunch and Drink for lunchVery Unsanitary in the kitchen area as well as the fountain area. Equipment was not cared for."

"No one WANTS to work here. Everyone who does is just waiting for something else, and unfortunately that something else hardly ever arrives. No one making enough money in this company to actually be happy has to do any of the low level grunt work that we, the minimum wage grasping pond scum, have to bear. Not to mention how every mornonic customer blames their minuscule IQ on us.NothingEverything"

"I personally will never work at a gas again. My ex Employers were extremely unorganized, lazy, violent and stupid. Most of the people they hired were the same way. The ex-Manager they hired had allowed her boy friend to be the Assistant Manager. I would here stories of him beating her and one day when i was alone in the walk-in refrigerator he approached me. He asked me if I respected him to make a long story short he was intimidating me. They ended up getting fired only because they weren't making a profit. It simply gets worst from then on and i can type all day about what went on at that place. Working at AMPM was a waste of my time and a missed opportunity to gain a good reference.You have a good enough salary to pay the billsUnstable Managment"
