Albertsons Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

Albertsons Companies, Inc. is an American grocery company founded and headquartered in Boise, Idaho. With 2,252 stores and 270,000 employees as of fiscal year 2020, the company is the second-largest supermarket chain in North America after Kroger, which has 2,750 stores. Albertsons ranked 53rd in the 2018 Fortune 500 list of the largest United States corporations by total revenue. Prior to its January 2015 merger with Safeway Inc. for $9.2 billion, it had 1,075 supermarkets located in 29 U.S. states under 12 different banners. Its predecessor company, Albertsons, Inc., was reorganized as Albertsons LLC and sold to AB Acquisition LLC, a Cerberus Capital Management-led consortium. After buying back the majority of its former stores it sold to SuperValu in 2006, AB Acquisition announced it would change its name to Albertsons Companies Inc. in 2015. The company's corporate name was Albertson's until 2002, when the apostrophe was removed.

A former employee shared this in a review "Albertsons has the shadiest management. I got let go for taking a mandatory dot 30 minute break after completing an 8 hr shift. On call and very inconsistent hours weekly. Promised hours and they never delivered. Moved family here bought house just to be let go."

"Job security is next to none, management is complete nepotism. Does not pay well. Job is in a rural area. Work life is not worth the minimum wage. Not a good job.NoneIt’s the only real job in this town."

Checker (Former Employee) says

"The customers are awful, management sucks and is ridiculously militant, if you make a mistake or call in at all they will take it out on your schedule and give you less hours. Extremely demanding job for minimum wage and hardly any benefits. They also won't let you dye your hair if they decide its "distracting" and will send you home if you show up with dyed hair."

"You can get welfare and food stamps , medical , subsidized housing , live below poverty, be treated like a slave, risk your life , be screwed over , for nothing"

Cashier/Customer Service (Former Employee) says

"I had the misfortune of working for Albertson's for 15 years. I hated almost every minute of it and had I not needed the Union benefits for my family (as a single parent), I would never have stayed. There are a lot of small minded front end managers, who, if you don't kiss their feet, will lord their minute powers over you and schedule you at the worst possible times they can think of. Working with the public is never easy, but they (the public at large) were my saving grace. I developed many many relationships with my customers. But Management never liked me because I wouldn't bow to them. But I am/was also an excellent cashier and stock person, so they couldn't fabricate any reason to let me go. They punished me by giving me inconsistent hours. I am very grateful that I no longer have to tolerate their poor management. My advice to anyone thinking about working for them is : Don't! Hours are based on seniority, so as a newcomer, you can kiss your nights, weekends, and holidays goodbye. Just a horrible place to work."

Stock Clerk (Former Employee) says

"a lot of stress no room for advancement here they lie a lot. There is a lot of horassment Management always has you fear for your job. The store director always be leaves lies The store director never bothers to research the problem."

Produce Clerk (Current Employee) says

"You will be over worked, under paid and treated like garbage. They have an enormous turn over rate. Corporate talks down to you and expects miracles while cutting your labor back to nothing and expecting you to stay overtime and work 7 days a week to get things done. They will never be satisfied. They will promote ANYONE because they constantly have spots which often leads to unqualified in managerment positions."

Deli Clerk (Former Employee) says

"Manager Bonuses and making money for the company is prioritized over the workload one employee must undergo with 0 help from management. Do not repeat my mistake.NoneIf you dont have bills then its a paycheck"

Deli Clerk (Former Employee) says

"I started with Albertsons was good. I'm at Safeway environment is generally negative, there are not enough employees for each dept, I have been left alone in deli dept many times, not ok one person. Customers can treat you however they want to the point of abuse, which creates unhappy and disgusted employees. They seem to want loyalty and and dont give it return. Management has no respect for their emplyees."

JHudson says

"Had complained to manager at the Lake Havasu City store in the past that I have been waiting in line for almost an hour every time I picked up my medications. We this last time Tonja got very rude with my wife and she lied about my script being sent over from the doctor. This time we left and will never go back to pharmacy."

Former employee says

"Hostile work environment. Management will discuss your personal information with other employees. Management will require you to come to work even if you have covid, just keep it hush hush. Management will expose your medical conditons to the whole department. HR is a joke and is conspiring with all management therefore any complaints are never handled or properly documented. Do not work for this company. "

"Albertsons in Palm Desert, California shows favoritism and full of racist old women with glasses."

Tony P says

"Literally the worst selection of products comparedto any other grocery store "

Albertsons Review says

"Albertsons in Palm Desert is full of rude people. There is a Hispanic guy who works here with a cart of boxes and he is mocking and harassing customers behind the back. He is an asshole."

Former Employee - Front End Clerk says

"Unorganized, store director is very rude to both employees and customer. Front End Manager shows favoritism and is trying to bring her friends who works as either a cashier or Customer service to work at her store. Getting a raise is near impossible. You have to fight the Store Director. And HR and district regional manager and show proof why you deserve an extra $1."

MaDell says

"If I could, I would give the Albertsons location on San Marcos Blvd/corner Rancho Santa Fe Road in San Marcos ZERO or NEGATIVE stars. It’s sad to think that they are the same corporation as the Albertsons on San Elijo Road… A few days before Thanksgiving, we bought a huge ribeye roast, about 22 pounds. About 3 days after we had bought it, we took it out of the butcher wrapping paper and noticed a strange odor coming from the roast. We called Albertsons and were asked to return the product. About 12 hours later, my husband went to the store for the return. In the meantime, I had started to prepare a turkey instead. I didn't even think about anything, thinking my husband would come home with a refund back to my credit card or at least a store gift card. But noooooooo.... They told him that he needed to get exactly what we had bought before, so he was assured that it was store policy that he HAD TO get another huge roast again. I was very upset when he came home with another roast, this time still in shrink wrap. This one weighed in at about 25.20 pounds, regular price at $10.99 pound was $276.75. Since our previous roast was a little lighter due to being trimmed and due to not having had to pay for the heavy duty plastic wrap, my husband was seriously asked to pay an additional $20. I called the store and was told the store manager was not there. So I filed a complaint online on the Albertsons website. That was on November 25, 2020. We waited a couple of days, and since we had not heard back and were assured the store would “eventually” get back to us. We decided to open the heavy duty shipping plastic on the roast and cut and freeze it. It turned out there was a reason why we had to pay an additional $20 – we had about 3 pounds of excess fat on that roast, and that is the fat beyond the normal fat needed. Plus the shipping plastic – they took our additional money to pay for trash. Nice… Ever since then, I am being stalled and mocked by Albertsons customer service. The store manager NEVER called us. In one of the emails from customer service, they seriously had the audacity to tell me that the store insisted that someone had called us on 11/28 and on 11/29. Very strange, as my phone records do not show any incoming calls on both days from an Albertson store. Instead, I had to send them my phone number again per email. So I did. I repeatedly asked for the name of the so-called “manager” at that location as I have never in my life experienced such bad or rather non-existent customer service, but the answer to that question that I must have asked 3 times now per email is being avoided. After at least 7 or 8 more emails from me, always inquiring when I would be contacted, even requesting to be contacted via email, I am still waiting to hear from anyone over at that store site. In one emails I was told that the store refused to communicate via email. It had to be via phone. I wonder why that is? So that there is no trace of any communication? I avoided Albertsons since that day completely. I do not do business with a store that treats customers like that. Shame on them, and shame on corporate to have such incompetent management in place there."

Malachi arciero says

"I just bought some jerky from this store and the jerky was very hard why???? Just lost out on $6"

Bayley Grove says

"As I was getting product to purchase, i was rudely informed by the floral department employee that they are limiting the amount of product that I was able to purchase because of issue that they are having with other business in town buying them out of their products. There was no sign posted which said anything of the limit and the employee presumed that I was associated with the other business. I don't understand why if you are purchasing as a consumer why they would no want to sell? She was very rude and I will never shop in a place that makes decision based on other people. Also as I was checking out, the employee did not care enough and smashed and broke the product that I they limited."

Traniece Johnson says

"Albertsons on 181st and Glisan, is one of the nastiest doors I've walked into yet to grocery shop. They do not wipe their shopping baskets down, no workers are wearing any mask, no workers are wearing any class not for stocking or for checking people out, and the biggest problem that I'm having is is that they are not wiping the terminals down after each customer that has not come in together. Now I don't know if they remember that there is a coronavirus out but there still is and there is no cure and there is no vaccine. We are still currently in Phase 1 in Montgomery County and they wonder why. It's because people are going to grocery stores like these ones and they are not taking the proper precautions and so that means that you'll need to bring your own wipes your own hand sanitizer and your own Mass to the store to make sure that you are not being contaminated because the workers there are supposed to be essential and the people that are there are not caring for themselves as well as others and as long as that's happening coronavirus will keep spreading. Now I'm sure that our governor has guidelines for what these businesses need to do I'm going to start reporting in the first one is Albertsons they are not doing taking the proper precautions. When it first started they had spray bottles at the registers they was making sure after each customer they wiped it down they were making sure that there were bags available and now nothing. So when I called customer service they told me that they don't have any regulations or rules they need to follow and if that's the case they need to have a superior called me back because I also spoke with the supervisor in customer service for our sins. They just as well don't care so why everybody spending their money there and is willing to go there because they need to get food they are not keeping their customers safe."

Debbie Munoz says

"First of all albertsons is price gouging at it's finest. They must have added 2 dollars to each item. SHAMEFUL! 2nd I used to work there in the deli and they made us deep fry green slimy chicken we had to roll in batter and deep fry slimy green chicken by the case to save cost. DiSGUSTING. ey chicken"

Okmebe says

"I selected coupons in the app for various discounts totaling $10. When I got home I realized I was overcharged by $9. This has happened multiple times and I'd had enough. I contacted Albertsons online Customer Service department. The email I received back offered no solution other than to tell me to wait 5 minutes to make a purchase after selecting a coupon. This canned response and kernel of information did not apply as the coupons had been selected and scanned much longer than 5 minutes before purchase. I replied twice to the message and received no response. I am so done with Albertsons."

Steve says

"Fresh fruits and veggies, and their meat cuts are the best. Prices are way above other comparable stores."

Former Employee says

"Albertsons in Palm Desert, CA is one of the worst stores ever. People are always rude. Three guys in white shirts are mocking people near the doors. A woman in a grey greenish sweater is being prejudice towards people. Two girls are being extremely rude towards other people. Products are overpriced and parking is ALWAYS crowded. One product cost at least 5 dollars. Albertsons does discriminate people by looks and reject applicants. This is all based on experience every time at Albertsons. This one is the worst"

Roger says
