Akebono Brake Industry Co., Ltd. is a Japanese manufacturer of components for automobiles, motorbikes, trains, and industrial machinery. The company was founded by Sanji Osame in 1929 as Akebono Sekimen Kogyosho.
Akebono fires employees for getting hurt, there is a lot of overtime hours and a stressful working envirionment, and rules are strict, according to a former employee at glassdoor.com

If your anything besides white they will find any reason to terminate you. Good thing is if your father is a boss than you have a great shot at moving up the ladder. In school my instuctors told me that Akebono was one of the worst places to work. Well, it is."
Machine Operator (Current Employee) says"They do not care about you they do not care about your well being they are to benefit theirselves if you are happy in a position where you are don't get too settled because they will move you to where they want you to where you are not happy anymore they do not care about the physical issues that certain machinery and areas give to your body if you are sick they do not care you take away your vacation days and the take away the days you can choose to have we do not get to choose or vacation days or no point no pay or are personal days anymore we have to schedule them like we know when we're gonna be sick or somebody in a family is going to have an issue or your car breaks down there pretty much will give you a point because I cannot call in and use that day as place really sucks I do not remote recommend this place to anybody"

Press Operator (Former Employee) says"Not a good place to work if you are a temp. Regular employees look at you like you're after their job and are not helpful at all. Pay was good but 10hour days for a month straight, wrong!! Cons: Walk a mile to go outside for break...15 gone just waking"

Production Supervisor (Former Employee) says"Akebono US is poorly managed. New employees are not provided the proper training to be successful. In fact, the Japanese support staff purposely do not show American employees what they need to know to be successful when requested. In addition, there is poor moral and the required OHSA training for employees is not kept current as required by law. The employee turn-over rate is about 20% and all US site are loosing money and laying off recently hired employees. Cons: Poor Moral, Lay-offs, and turnover."

He goes round asking all the young girls to be their sugardaddy! Worse job ever if you are not one of the favorites. Pay as a temp is horrible they only pay you for 7 hours a day! Cons: Management"

Production Worker (Former Employee) says"I liked the job as well as some of my other coworkers but the managment was unfair with some of us associates. a lot of favortism went on there. The pay could have been better. I had no benefits which along with the low pay made me and other assosiates misrable. They did not give us days off which i am sure affected there production. If you asked me if i would go back i would tell you that i would not go back there unless i knew things where different there. Cons: managment, no benefits, low pay, no time off"
