Former Employee - Caregiver says

"I worked at Abcor Home Health full-time for more than a year Cons: The office staff are horrible. They all need to be replaced. Management lies. They leave clients without service for long periods. They treat the employees like crap. They only have good reviews on here because office people made those reviews. The pay needs to improve."

"I have been working at Abcor Home Health part-time for more than a year Cons: Payroll is always delayed or hours are constantly missing and you have to wait 2 or 4 weeks to get paid for hours that are due to you. They don't provide uniforms (as promised) and their call-in system barely works."

Former Employee - Homecare Supervisor says

"I worked at Abcor Home Health full-time for less than a year Cons: Terrible management. High turn over of employees. Was not provided support from management as needed. Juggled 3 positions in one. Upper management pressure to staff clients is unrealistic. Too stressful. Compensation is not fair to the workload."

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"I worked at Abcor Home Health part-time for more than a year Cons: The Administrative staff does not answer calls or messages back in a timely manner. It is as if they do not care about the well being of their clients."

Caregiver (Former Employee) says

"I have worked for this company 2 different times and the first time was a different manager which started off great but went downhill from there.so I left for a better job and came back after I left that job to find that the management had changed again and it went from bad to worse I only stayed there for a little over a week and left permanently . Cons: poor management"

Homemaker (Former Employee) says

"At the Woodridge office the management has very poor communication and work ethic, clients complained to the workers all the time and workers had a hard time getting in touch with the managers in the office. The managers would call and tell you that they would process your request for certain clients from the list given in an email and they would never call you back or respond to the request. Cons: You don’t see the compensation for mileage at all"

Home Health Care Aide (Current Employee) says

"Worked for them for a couple years. Terrible at finding clients for my hours. Never emailed or called back. When a relative passed and I called three times no one called back so I had to miss the funeral. I expressed how unsafe I felt at my clients home with her family present and did little to nothing to help or change my client. overall would never recommend this company."

Administrative Assistant/Hr Recruiter (Former Employee) says

"They do not have a skilled trainer to train office employees, leaving you with many questions and concerns. When you do have a problem upper management is no help and berates you for asking for help. Cons: management"

Engineer (Former Employee) says

"The company is clearly trying to put its best foot forward towards a more "modern" culture, but in my experience has suffered from significant turnover."

Homemaker (Former Employee) says

"The new supervisor in the rockford office is very unprofessional she doesn't know her job at all she will not give your raise ask a question she has no answer DO NOT APPLY AT THIS PLACE I QUIT"

Registered Nurse Case Manager (Former Employee) says

"Was coerced to take new admissions and work weekends as long as I had below 25 patients a week; patients assigned to me were scattered geographically with up to 26 miles between some of them. This was the case despite efficient logistical planning of visits the night before. Cons: Too many to list"

Caregiver/Personal Assistant (Former Employee) says

"I loved my clients but the office staff was horrible with organization and communication. I was employed for a year in a half with abcor . I had to have 4 clients in one day to make at least 27 hours a week then scattered across town and two of them always needed to go out. No gas reimbursement at all. I genuinely love being a caretaker but I can't with this company. Cons: Horrible office staff"

Field Worker (Current Employee) says

"On a typical day I meet some amazing clients and work with them in their homes to keep them as independent as possible."

Care Giver/ Medical Assistant (Former Employee) says

"Their company is ok to work for not good for pay dont have to many clients with reasonable distance dont pay enough for jobs that are given to people."

Home Health Care Aide (Current Employee) says

"I enjoyed the clients I work for , but the management seemed to be cold to the clients simple needs . I don’t feel they give incentive to the employees or recognize the good work they do . They also say they pay for mileage but I didn’t receive it when I asked . Cons: Low pay, no personal time no vacation time"

Caregiver (Current Employee) says

"They advertise fulltime opportunities but you will be lucky to get 20 hrs a week. Management is very unorganized and there are constantly new people working in the office who don't know what they're doing. 3 different people from Abcor on several occasions call asking the same question. They need to get on the same page with each other. They send you all over to clients expecting you to drive them places but offer you no reimbursement for milage. Client's can be really nice and friendly. I look forward to seeing mine. Overall I'd only recommend working here if you don't really need much money maybe as a second job. Cons: Bad management"

Home Care Supervisor (Former Employee) says

"It was great to work with the client. I was unable to fell valued or supported my management. We started the day at 8:30am and was out by 5pm. There were a few days were I had a client in crisis but was still being pushed out the door since it ran after 5pm. There were a few times that has to work without any heat."

Homemaker (Current Employee) says

"I assist clients with day to day living such as cooking, cleaning, running, errands, etc"

Home Health Aide (Current Employee) says

"The punch in system never works. Paperwork is a lot everyday. They don’t follow up on patients care. They change managers often and without telling you. Cons: Communication"

Homecare Supervisor (Former Employee) says

"The working environment was unorganized and very busy. Way too much work and responsibilities. No upper management, the owners would want (us) the supervisor to do everything and to manager their company so they wouldn't have anything else to do but spend money for fun. Cons: Liers"

Care Giver (Former Employee) says

"This is not a job for someone who needs steady hours and counts on getting a decent paycheck. This is more of a part time job for those who feel a need to help the elderly. The pay is very low for what the job is. Unfortunately you get treated bad by some clients and theres nothing you can do. My supervisor basically told me to get over it because I have to get along with the client. Also unfortunately at times you get treated like a maid and are told to do things you are not allowed to do per contract, then you are stuck with explaining your job description to clients. Some clients just like to give orders as if they were your boss, which is very humiliating and made me feel degraded when they would argue with me but then still wanted me to do whatever it is they asked for. This job is basically for people who care to help but are not scared to say no and walk away from bad situations. Good luck. One last thing you have to use your own car to transport the clients if they need to go anywhere. No gas or mile reimbursements. Cons: No set hours, no set clients, lack of management, use your own car for transporting. No gas or mile reimbursements."

Certified Nurses Assistant (Former Employee) says

"Great with available hours. Didnt offer flexibility, Didnt offer clients within desired driving range, Didnt return phone calls. I wasnt very pleased with this company."

Administrator (Former Employee) says

"Team work and mutual respect. Dependable employees with varieties of professional skills. Well maintained office structure where people make a real difference."

Homemaker (Current Employee) says

"The pay is not exactly kosher and there is no compensation to employees for gas or mileage. Supervisors/management is pretty good. Always available to staff with good open communication. Cons: no compensation for gas and mileage"
