Abcor Home Health is a Medicaid & Medicare certified home health provider accredited through the Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP). Abcor is also licensed as an in-home services & home health agency by the Department of Public Health. Abcor is an active provider under the Department on Aging (DoA)’s Community Care Program. They also participate in the Department of Human Services – Department of Rehabilitation Services (DORS) Program. In order to work with those to whom state government programs do not apply, Abcor Home Health has established solid partnerships with six managed care organizations in Illinois.

Homemaker (Former Employee) says"At the Woodridge office the management has very poor communication and work ethic, clients complained to the workers all the time and workers had a hard time getting in touch with the managers in the office. The managers would call and tell you that they would process your request for certain clients from the list given in an email and they would never call you back or respond to the request. Cons: You don’t see the compensation for mileage at all"

When a relative passed and I called three times no one called back so I had to miss the funeral. I expressed how unsafe I felt at my clients home with her family present and did little to nothing to help or change my client. overall would never recommend this company."

I had to have 4 clients in one day to make at least 27 hours a week then scattered across town and two of them always needed to go out. No gas reimbursement at all. I genuinely love being a caretaker but I can't with this company. Cons: Horrible office staff"

Caregiver (Current Employee) says"They advertise fulltime opportunities but you will be lucky to get 20 hrs a week. Management is very unorganized and there are constantly new people working in the office who don't know what they're doing. 3 different people from Abcor on several occasions call asking the same question. They need to get on the same page with each other. They send you all over to clients expecting you to drive them places but offer you no reimbursement for milage. Client's can be really nice and friendly. I look forward to seeing mine. Overall I'd only recommend working here if you don't really need much money maybe as a second job. Cons: Bad management"

There were a few days were I had a client in crisis but was still being pushed out the door since it ran after 5pm. There were a few times that has to work without any heat."

Care Giver (Former Employee) says"This is not a job for someone who needs steady hours and counts on getting a decent paycheck. This is more of a part time job for those who feel a need to help the elderly. The pay is very low for what the job is. Unfortunately you get treated bad by some clients and theres nothing you can do. My supervisor basically told me to get over it because I have to get along with the client. Also unfortunately at times you get treated like a maid and are told to do things you are not allowed to do per contract, then you are stuck with explaining your job description to clients. Some clients just like to give orders as if they were your boss, which is very humiliating and made me feel degraded when they would argue with me but then still wanted me to do whatever it is they asked for. This job is basically for people who care to help but are not scared to say no and walk away from bad situations. Good luck. One last thing you have to use your own car to transport the clients if they need to go anywhere. No gas or mile reimbursements. Cons: No set hours, no set clients, lack of management, use your own car for transporting. No gas or mile reimbursements."
