Time Inc. was an American worldwide mass media corporation founded on November 28, 1922, by Henry Luce and Briton Hadden and based in New York City. It owned and published over 100 magazine brands, including its namesake Time, Sports Illustrated, Travel + Leisure, Food & Wine, Fortune, People, InStyle, Life, Golf Magazine, Southern Living, Essence, Real Simple, and Entertainment Weekly. It also had subsidiaries which it co-operated with the UK magazine house Time Inc. UK (which later sold and since has been rebranded to TI Media), whose major titles include What's on TV, NME, Country Life, and Wallpaper. Time Inc. also co-operated over 60 websites and digital-only titles including MyRecipes, Extra Crispy, TheSnug, HelloGiggles, and MIMI. In 1990, Time Inc. merged with Warner Communications to form the media conglomerate Time Warner (now AT&T-owned WarnerMedia). This merger lasted until the company was spun off on June 9, 2014, going public under the ticker TIME. In November 2017, competing publisher and media company Meredith Corporation announced that it would acquire Time Inc. for $2.8 billion. The acquisition was completed on January 31, 2018.
Assistant Manager Finance (Current Employee) says"They are no more hiring new people. Just firing every one left right center. Don't know what the higher management is trying to achieve. Do not go here in recent time. Pay was good for people hired before.Good work life balance. But no more worth it. Cons: mad management"
INTEGRATED ACCOUNT DIRECTOR (Former Employee) says"Time Inc. management showed favoritism the entire time that I worked there. Certain employees were given privileges like working from home while others were expected to work long over time hours. Management was not supportive of the sales team and was more interested advancing their own careers. Gossip, pettiness and lies plagued the company. There was no collaboration on projects. In a typical work day employees were left to essentially fend for themselves on projects. Cons: Management, Culture"
Customer Service Consultant (Former Employee) says"I was a consultant for this business, which required me to assist patrons to use the exercise equipment and to sell packages to them to keep them coming back. Cons: Mismanagment"
Finance (Former Employee) says"This is a failing company in a dying industry. Layoffs are constant and management is just buying time waiting for their package. Too many employees pointing fingers to save their own jobs. Stay away, it's a job that will suck the life out of you and spit you out when they are done with you. Morale continues to get worse and people are absolutely miserable. Just do some research online before thinking about applying here. Cons: constant layoffs, declining industry, low morale"
Customer Service Rep (Former Employee) says"If you have never worked in a call center you will experience a very strict environment. It is a very noisy office and the computer software is ancient. Cons: short breaks and very long hours"
Planner (Former Employee) says"Stamford, CT location all employees are is very clicky. The company provide minimum to no training. Almost every Manager has quit the company and for the reason of not finding anything worth while. came back to work for such a horrible company. If doesn't work out, the company lies about what actually happened. Only because of being affiliates of Time Inc.did this company succeed this far. Cons: If doesn't work out, the company lies about what actually happened"
Desgin Services Planner (Former Employee) says"after a long time working for this company, I noticed the downward spiral. good luck to all my friends still working there."
Executive Producer (Former Employee) says"A company without vision, which is evident in its recent sale to Meredith. It rested on achievements that no longer mattered, did not move as fast as the industry, and found itself without a purpose or path to longterm growth."
Application Security Engineer (Former Employee) says"After two years the company was bought out in a shady deal with Meredith and every legacy tech employee who didn't jump ship got laid off a few months later."
family support assistance (Former Employee) says"really bad experience, management does functionalism based on personals and not professionals relations"
Director, Financial & Relationship Management (Current Employee) says"Very please working for a strong company and the ability to grow has kept me there all these years. Development of skills is somewhat limited with magazine business on the decline, although seeing a major publisher and distribution division for Time Inc (now, a Meredith company) is dynamic. Cons: Often 11 hours a day on call"
Centre Manager (Former Employee) says"It was my responsibility to take care of the day to day activities of the center, the marketing, business and training modules. Admission and contracts with other educational institutions"
PROFESSOR (Current Employee) says"It is really good to teach everything I know and even more, because students all the time make really good questions which makes me study harder, do lots of research and prepare myself all the time. Teaching has been a very good experience, I´ve learned how to make myself clear and to organize even more my work. Most of the collegues are young engineers which I have best relations and the job turns really fun untill useless meetings appears. We have reunions almost everyweek wich are just to inform and not to DISCUSS so those meeting get relly painfull and we waste to much time on them. No new ideas in order to solve problems are not alloud and I think is because who leads have PHD and we are simple mortals Cons: Bad Salary, no medical aid, extra-hours are not paid"
Accountant I, Drivetime (Former Employee) says"If you get in managements favor you are golden, otherwise lower management micro manages, compensation is poor, they have tried hard to make the environment fun, new modern building, game room, etc. Environment is very casual Cons: Compensation, micro managed"
Data Processor (Former Employee) says"A typical day consisted of clocking in and out on the MINUTE. The work environment was pretty nonexistent as getting to know your coworkers wasn't part of the job description. The training class was the best part of my experience. However, it didn't prepare me for the actual job setting. The job was actually quite easy; it was basic data entry. The downside to it was that if you were to stop for but a minute it would have such a huge effect on your production, which was all that really mattered there. There was a lot of pressure for a small amount of pay of $8.20. There was also NO room for growth, as I'd met a lady who'd worked there for 10 years only making $10 a hour. They give overtime when it's available, but to work possibly 50 hours weeks with a check no exceeding possibly 600 dollars before taxes, its not worth it. It fits for a nice summer job though for someone with out many bills, or someone with a second better paying job. Cons: short breaks, strict quotas, no lenience"
Freelance Art Director (Former Employee) says"I was thrown in at the deep end. I covered for the Art Director, who was away on holiday. The computers were locked in a cupboard and you had to set them up every day. No proper briefing or guidelines. A miserable experience... Cons: Middle of nowhere to get to."

Former Employee - Director of Digital Sales says"I worked at Time Inc. full-time for more than 3 years Cons: Terrible leadership at all levels No culture"
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"I worked at Time Inc. full-time for more than 3 years Cons: Sales strategies kept changing and Time Inc probably paid a TON in severance because it kept hiring sales personnel to target one thing, then changed how ads were sold and laid people off after several months. This happened at least three times within a year."
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"I worked at Time Inc. full-time for more than a year Cons: It's so bureaucratic, political, and process driven that all of your creativity is stifled early on. HR is a nightmare (entitlement and real lack of care for the actual employees - you can't complain of you're out - I've seen this happen many times)."
