They live in their own bubble: the 1% Old White Man bubble.The ideas produced by this team are recycled and unimaginative, they have absolutely no clue as to how to run an organization. A CCO who has never produced a single piece of creative in his life - yup, that makes sense. The MVP that only gained the title from jumping from agency to agency and never learned how to set up a proper process and why the team doesn't know how to properly bill a client - also makes sense. ECD with no back bone to stand up to incompetent CCO - yes, you can find that here. Management does not know how to build a proper process for the agency, which is why potential buyers have walked away from every opportunity - they know what to to look for and aren't blinded by the facade created."

"I worked at Swirl full-time for more than a year Cons: Work is soul sucking at best. Long hours with other confused people. Lack of focus, lack of direction for the agency as a whole. There is an almost Orwellian atmosphere of fear in the hallways because you never know what's going on. Everyone in upper management seems nice on the surface, but behind the smiles, you get a sense that they are trying gauge what you would taste like with some fava beans and a nice Chiante. If you'd like your career to join the Witness Protection program - this is the place for you."

"I worked at Swirl full-time for less than a year Cons: This place has all the Bay Area bells and whistles, but none of the heart. I was fired on my 11th day of work for "working more slowly than the two other new-hires" but I doubt that was the reason. First of all because I had never been fired before, I'm in my mid-30s, and have plenty of mid-level experience, but I would have been happy to work more quickly or complete more projects if I had been given a warning first or ANY kind of criticism. It also couldn't have had anything to do with my personality; I literally get along with all kinds of people. All I received was praise my 11 days there other than a "check-in" regarding my comfort with the level of work that by all accounts was them making sure *I* was comfortable. Additionally I constantly waited around to be given more work after I completed what I was given, so if they wanted me to do more work, someone above me wasn't giving it to me fast enough. The woman whom I worked directly under was incapable of even the most basic communication regarding expectations. Additionally, when her boss fired me he listed as an example a project that we were still waiting on final copy for, and said that the entirety of the project "it should have been completed by now" which clearly shows the communication problem was happening on all levels. But most egregious was the lack of respect on the human level. If you want to work in a place where the people are nice, where they are going to invest in you, support you, give you tough love when needed, and help you grow, in ADDITION to expecting you to work hard, that's not Swirl. They expected me to fit a very narrow set of expectations, and rather than explain what that was at any point in the process, they simply disposed of me. Like other reviewers have said here, it depends on the right people liking you."

A new media VP was just hired and the reviews from their previous company speak for what kind of "talent" they are recruiting into these high-level roles."

"I worked at Swirl full-time for more than 3 years Cons: The work is stunted by an inept CCO and a money-hungry CEO. Work for three weeks on a pitch and the day before and the CCO will come in, rip everything apart, and then offer up an idea that is asinine or already done. Swirl has all the potential to be an amazing award-winning agency but the top brass will keep that from being the case no matter what. Plus, the creatives are often used to solve bad account management or solve scattered briefs in an impossible timeframe. Additionally, it's a very Kool-aid culture, meaning, if you don't drink it or you question it, you're out the door."
