Machine Operator (Former Employee) says"Sterillite is a slave driving job and the supervisors are rude and don't know how to talk to people with respect. I had to use the bathroom but could not leave my machine. Shipper/Forklift (Current Employee) says"High turnover rate. Management is very poor and they have no compassion. They treat their employees like slaves. Production workers have to stand for 12 hours and some walk over 20 miles per day with blisters on their feet. Cons: Favortism"
Inspector Packer (Former Employee) says"Honestly when I first started at Sterilite I didn't think it was going to be as bad as it turned out to be. After 2 LONG months I quickly found out that Sterilite is HORRIBLE. The building gets up to 120 degrees in the summer time and there is no central heating or air. The management there make it mandatory that you have a water bottle at all times and if you don't have one they will give you a company water bottle but take it out of your pay. You work 12 hours a day in the heat around molten plastic and you get 4 breaks but your breaks at 10 minute, 15 minute, 15 minute, and 10 minute and the bad part is by the time you get to the break room you barely have any time to eat or use the bathroom but you are expected to back at your machine on time or they shorten the rest of your breaks. Cons: Everything"
Inspector/Packer (Former Employee) says"hard labor. when its cold its cold in sterilite. when its hot outside its hot in sterilite. they need better quality for the people who work in the weather conditions"
Packer (Former Employee) says"Now some people would love an extremely fast paced job like this. But for someone like me I couldn't do it. I've worked in a couple factories before and this one was by far the worst. You aren't trained very well and you kinda get thrown onto whatever machine you're assigned to. My trainer was with me maybe 15 mins and then disappeared for another 2 hours, leaving me and another new person by ourselves. It was a disaster. You have 20 seconds before another molding pops out and if you're not fast enough you'll get behind very quickly. So one person has 20 seconds to put together the pieces while the other person is responsible for packaging everything and putting everything on the skid while also making other boxes. When my trainer decided to come back we both were yelled at and shamed for not being fast enough when I was going as fast as possible. The breaks are poor as well. You get two 10 min breaks and two 20 min breaks. And you'll never get your breaks on time. A lot of factories I've worked at will let you go all at once but they send people one machine at a time. Personally I would never want to go back. Too stressful for me. You work long hours. You either work 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am. Definitely not worth it. Cons: Short Breaks, Fast Paced, Unfair Training, Long shifts"
Package Inspector (Former Employee) says"Sterilite is a terrible employer and warehouse. Very bad with discrimination, terrible policy, terrible breaks, and lack of oxygen. This is a health issue to anyone working there. Pay is nice, every week! I"
Warehouse Worker (Former Employee) says"Poorly run management. They had to change supervision a lot. The co workers were cool. They had no organization on how they wanted to run the machines. Which left a lot of people having to drive back home unnecessarily."
Inspector/Machine Operator/Packer/Assembler (Former Employee) says"Sterilite is a company that is very difficult to work with because they have high turnover because it's hot fast pace and they don't care if you work your fingers to they bleed they have unsafe conditions they don't care about anyone other than making the company as much money as possible and they don't care who they effect by it more specific there are some people that are rude and don't care about anyone else but them self they talk to people like dogs they don't care if you get sick or anything happens to you because then they just send you home and they penalize you for going home they penalize you anytime you take off whether or not it's legitimate or not they hold it against you even if you have a family emergency that's covered under the medical Family Medical Leave Act they don't care this company is a horrible company to work for with high turnover because they use and abuse their employees both physically and verbally however the pay is very good not the best but decent but you gotta ask yourself is it really worth it I say no for your health sake Cons: Hot slave driving sweat Shop"
Packer (Former Employee) says"horrible place to work period"
Inspector/Packer (Former Employee) says"Did not enjoy this job, co workers were fine but did not like the job at all"
Package Handler (Former Employee) says"The management & human resources department is very unprofessional. There are some very inconsiderate, rude people in this company, who do not care about the employees."
Forklift Operator (Former Employee) says"Management sucks including the office personnel. Whatever the supervisors tell the people in the office, that's what they believe, even if it's a lie. You have no say so whatsoever Cons: Terrible managment"
Inspector/Packer (Former Employee) says"Quick pace. Extreme heat. Floor person was stuck on herself, and had no people skills. One person was polite. The rest just acted like tough guys, or ignored work. The guy training me spent more time wandering off, talking to women, than actually explaining things to me. Just an absolutely horrible experience. And being a temp did not help matters any. And the pay was not equal to the heat and fast pace. Cons: Heat, attitudes, lack off training, pay for amount you have to deal with."
Forklift Operator (Former Employee) says"It's very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. They do not care about the employees. Management is very poor and uneducated. Management talk to you any kind of way. They stick together and go against you even if your right. This company has a high turnover rate because of how they treat their employees. I wouldn't recommend no one to work at Sterlite, it's a dead end job. Cons: Working there"
