SolidWorks Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

SolidWorks is a solid modeling computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided engineering (CAE) computer program that runs primarily on Microsoft Windows. While it is possible to run SolidWorks on MacOS, it is not supported by SolidWorks. SolidWorks is published by Dassault Systèmes.

Miles mentioned, "SolidWorks is built on outdated technology, using copies of files as opposed to shared documents. It's not versatile with multiple devices, including mobile. The user needs high end, expensive hardware to run it. Service Packs, Yearly Updates make compatibility between users very difficult. It is a very expensive piece of legacy software that I need to pay for upfront."

Brian says

"I have used SW for a decade and it is absolutely spiraling out of control into a garbage product. Wake up SolidWorks... your days are numbered."

Nick says

"I agree with Brian that Solidworks is going down the drain. The programs works fine for making parts but as soon as you start making assemblies especially large once, get out your phone or start ebaying because you will click n wait. SOLIDWORKS HOW ABOUT YOU FOCUS ON LARGE ASSEMBLIES AND FIX THAT ISSUE. "

Jim says

"I agree, it used to be good. Now they push updates without fixing existing bugs. Im to the point where I will not use patterns anymore because they change configs on there own. I fix them, they change back. etc......................................"

future former user says

"Undo in SW is still a matter of luck. Windows user interface standards are not consistently taken into account in SW. The handling of options/settings/preferences/templates is a mess. The software manufacturer Dassault Systèmes completely ignores feedback to a degree that one might consider rude. Working with SW becomes more and more frustrating after more than four years. I will try something else."
