Current Employee - GIS Team Member says

"Pathetic leaders. From Manager and above, people are insecure bunch of folks who are very selfish, interested in taking all credits and assigning all blames below. They also lie in front of the CIO to save their face."

Purchasing Agent says

"lots, management has long gotten into the habit of working with fewer resources than necessary. Can one imagine what fantastic products this company could produce with appropriate resources. Management insists on micromanaging , it's the way they have done biz for many years. They will not share decision making responsibilities and the people actually making the decisions are absolutely ill equipped ( experience) to make those decisions."

Current Employee - IT Manager says

"Lack of leadership, vision and accountability If one speaks up he/she can easily become a political refugee or dissident One can only promote and advance a career if he/she can carefully navigate the politically charged environment"

says

"Weak management, poor leadership and decision making, benefits not up to date versus what other more modern companies offer, negative work environment where individualism rather than team work is encouraged. Individuals are openly criticized and reprimanded in front of their coworkers and/or supervisors. Again, I don't think this is the case in other departments but definitely in our department."

Manager says

"Culture is stuck in the 50s - worse than typical "corporate" environment - decisionmaking is slower than slow, and further hampered by the fact that every single decision is forced to escalate clear up to the owner (including things like color of napkins to have at company events) Building/environment are far cooler than anyone in the company, so its completely misleading when you first visit for interviews Too many "lifers" who would be unemployable anywhere else and are too stubborn to accept change or modernize the policies and practices Company owner only cares about preserving the founder's legacy and making sure the 30+ year veterans have a pension plan. Newer employees with new, fresh ideas and ways of thinking are "second-class citizens" Very different environments if you work on the product or marketing side v. corporate functions Turnover comes from the squashing of innovation - all the smart people figure out quickly that they'll never accomplish anything here and hit the road"

Vice President says

"People are promoted simply by who likes them in senior management. Competence is not considered. There is considerable pressure to "dumb-down" your knowledge because senior management may be intimidated by excellence. Don't join this company if you have an MBA or have worked for a professional, competent organization. You will climb the walls. The company has a very poor track record in retaining employees. Highly competent people are regularly fired because of politics. There is much employee turnover. The future of the company after the current owner (a very old woman with no prior business experience - she inherited the company) is very uncertain despite management's assurances to the contrary. BEWARE - the company has the reputation of eavesdropping on employee phone calls and monitoring emails to determine if anyone is saying anything negative about the owner."

says

"Enviorment conditions are not friendly here"

Current Employee - Project Manager says

"Local Management very dishonest, plant metrics are a disaster and not always true, also root causes of issues never investigated to get proper corrective actions production lines downtime due to lack of material never attended. loosing thousand of dollars in labor, components and parts everyday New products introduction is a joke, no written procederes so ever"

Former Employee - Manager says

"The HR and senior management like to shake people lives up by hiring them in and then in a very brief time, deciding that Shure needs to change direction and letting people go. People that perhaps left good jobs like myself and others I knew at Shure and for no fault of their own "restructuring" They talk a good game about improving processes (in finance) but when new ideas are brought in, the resistance is strong and the old guard always wins. Many old time employees that will fight change. Also, the culture is very cold and clicky. Honestly it was one of the few companies I have been at where I really did not find very many friendly people in the management ranks. The younger newer staff (many of which left quickly) were the exception. I woudl think twice before coming over. It may work out, it may not and you may be tossed out with the garbage with little to no thought."

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"There is a lot of politics and a lot of lifers at this company that makes it harder for internal promotion. Also, they are very old school with letting you work remotely."

Accountant (Former Employee) says

"Stay away from this place and RUN! This is a terrible place to work! In my department, people smiled in your face and then stabbed you in the back! Management showed alot of favoritism and were only looking out for their own welfare and keeping their own jobs. Sorry I ever worked at this company and glad to be gone!Nice buildingToo much work. Rude coworkers. Poor management"

Project Manager (Former Employee) says

"Very nice coworkers and clean facilities I have learned nothing there , lack of continuous improvement culture, very poor management and zero sense of urgency in regards of solving problems Hire and fire workers without obey mexican laws Top management very dishonest with plant metrics and results by not reporting the true to corporate offices Material department is a complete disaster by loosing parts and components and no further investigation done so far Coworkers have very good ideas to improve the processes but the management will not listen and do nothing about it Hardest part of the job is to convince top management because the ideas and proposals are always there waitting for rigth decisions Most enjoyable part is the coworkers engineers, supervisors and factory workers New products introduction is a joke, no procedures no lab testing and not even the basic validation I will not recomend this company to work at Management Level I will for factory workers and supervisorsGood Coworkers and cafeteriaVery poor and Bad Management in Shure Juarez Plant"

Market Development Manager (Former Employee) says

"When left my previous job to join Shure, to be convinced I was promised many things that in short term I could see that were just false promises, between them the respect and life quality that didn't exist. Instead of this, there were a lot of bad things, that I don't want even recall to say here - this is just the tip of the iceberg, and such things didn't happen only to me. The saddest thing is HR knowing about this kind of behaviour and just closing their eyes and letting things happen, only because sales targets are being achieved. The company has great products and great professionals, but unfortunately the company needs to re-evaluate its concepts and pay more attention to the human resources, avoiding them to suffer harsh behaviour from certain managers.Disrespect, working WAY more than was set, public humilliations, etc"

Purchasing Agent (Former Employee) says

"Management is not forthright in anyting they do to steer the company. This permeates the company all the way to the executive VP. Extremely restrictive atmosphere as far as maneuverability within the organization. the control is enjoyed by only a handful of people. Many people in managerial positions have no idea what their job isgreat product linemanagement is not forthright with it's associates"

Accountant (Former Employee) says

"Shure paid the employees very well. The management was interested in changes. The means used in my prior department included constently changing employees' tasks, constantly changing the work processes, constantly changing application softwares, constantly changing working culture. Only one thing was constant there- change. If you love constant changes, then you belong there.401kair conditioning system"

order picker (Former Employee) says

"I worked at the wheeling facility for 8 months as a temp. I enjoyed working the first shift with overtime. The company phased out the production area and turned it into a finished goods area. Management decided to let the production people with severance packages. Instead of hiring the temps permanently they rehired their production staff and let go the temps who were already trained in the finished goods area.management didnt care about the temps a lot"

Project Manager (Current Employee) says

"I will refrain from specific reviews out of professional courtesy and my position within the company.Creative work environment"

Software Engineer (Current Employee) says

"Good work life balance, not to stressful, but they go out of their way to pay you as little as they can get away with. Projects can be varied, and they value new ideas. The people are great.Work life balancePay"

Manufacturing Engineer (Former Employee) says

"there is a huge opportunity to improve , chances to master projects are almost infinite, anyway it is a good company ,"

George says

"EATFL1-6 Triple Flange Sleeves have been resized way too small. We can clearly see the difference in size and the fit now is pitiful giving us so much less seal to the ear. Our listening pleasure is lessened by at least 40% with sound seeping in to ruin what was once the perfect 'listening experience' when wearing earphones."

pennylessz says

"Horrible customer service. Told me to call back in two hours, when I called, they forgot said call, and told me they couldn't do anything. If you buy from them, make sure you're equipped to handle things yourself, their support is one of the worst."

Iaan says

"I phoned the service department regarding a repair of a condenser microphone. The attitude from the technician was unreasonable and has put me off long term."

Niels Fuglsang says

"Shure e500pth. After 1,5 years of use the cable went stiff and hard with has been resulted in the cable is falling apart. Earphones that are in that price range have to last for many years but no sadly not. I have made a complaint to shure but they sadly only offers a new model with a little discount, I don't want to buy a new pair so the same can happen again 😠"

T says

"I purchased a set of 535s on Amazon , but after about 13 months the left ear bud/phone stopped working and the right hand side was flakey at best. Contacted Amazon support but was told that they could not contact the company that sold them to me ... so I tried to return them to share uk and was told that because the company that sold them to me was not an authorised agent they would not replace them..."
