Globally, Rip Curl is considered a successful member of the "Big Three", of the surf industry alongside Quiksilver and Billabong.As of October 2019, Michael Daly is the chief executive officer (CEO) of Rip Curl Group.

An angry buyer shared this in a review" Waited over a week after ordering and did not hear anything from Rip Curl. I contacted customer service who said my order would ship that day; it didn't. I didn't receive my order for 15 days! I requested a refund and they said they would provide a shipping label and then in the next email claimed they don't provide free returns. This is so backwards and confusing. Products arrived unacceptably late vs. what's stated on their website, they did not communicate a delay, and the product arrived smelling like a factory and are obviously made from cheap materials. Turns out everything is made in China. For a company trying to be an iconic American brand, I find it funny that 99% of their products are manufactured in China? aNd they're charging me $69.99 for some cheap shorts? Please process my refund and provide a shipping label for the debacle that was this order. Thanks."

"You arrived you polished all the surfaces you cleaned all the counters re-organized all the clothes and went in the back to stock, most days you kind of just stand around and re-do other people’s work just to past the time. it’s mostly deserted but when customers do come in that’s nice. I learned how to multitask supervising the changing rooms and the costumers walking the floor,"

"You are required to wear rip-curl gear and nothing else with any other sort of company log, including your shoes. When you first get on, you get to pick out 2 pieces of Ripcurl clothing that you get for free. This is your new job uniform, until you buy more of their clothes. $12 an hour is not bad pay, but you will ALWAYS pay AT LEAST $17 dollars per shift for parking because there is no free parking on the promenade and Ripcurl does not provide you with parking validation. That's about two hours of pay spent on parking per shift. For a high schooler or someone who lives with their parents, this is a great job. If you are on your own, it is best to work this as a part time gig. That being said, you will definitely find people to surf with if you work here.Cool peopleNo break room."

"Very low quality products being sold at a premium price tag. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE MARKETING!!!! I've been a big fan of rip curl for years, however I have watched the quality of the products slowly decline as the greedy corporates strive for fatter profit margins. Cutting costs on materials and pushing the price up and up. Jeans wear out and literally fall apart after 12 months, same with shorts, labels fall of hoodies, my $600 wetsuit fell apart. What a joke!!!"
