Ribose Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback
Ribose is a simple sugar and carbohydrate with molecular formula C5H10O5 and the linear-form composition H−(C=O)−(CHOH)4−H. The naturally-occurring form, d-ribose, is a component of the ribonucleotides from which RNA is built, and so this compound is necessary for coding, decoding, regulation and expression of genes. It has a structural analog, deoxyribose, which is a similarly essential component of DNA.
A word of caution, as shown on WebMd, "The safety of ribose has not been fully established. Some people who take ribose report side effects such as: Diarrhea Gastrointestinal discomfort Nausea Headache Ribose may cause low blood sugar when combined with diabetes drugs. People who have or are at risk of low blood sugar levels should probably avoid ribose. Also, ribose should likely be avoided for at least two weeks before surgery. Before taking ribose -- or any other supplement -- talk to your doctor about potential risks."
