Musicians Institute (MI) is a for-profit college of contemporary music in Los Angeles, California. MI students can earn Certificates and – with the transfer of coursework taken at Los Angeles City College – Associate of Arts Degrees, as well as Bachelor of Music Degrees in either Performance or Composition. The college was founded in 1977.
In 1994 and Musicians Institute began developing new programs to keep abreast of the modern music industry. Programs added include: MI Online (MIO).

"The problem with the school is the programs there are programs that are completely a waste of time and money. First is really expensive and second the programs are useless for professional life. Not all, but most of them. Vocal performance is useless I wasted a lot of money there and it was full of bull Shit. I learn literally what I learnt 5 years ago back in my country about vocals. Many of the students don't even have talent. Many of them were singing really shitty and they still having passing grades. Basically a scam. I don't recommend it to anyone."

There are a lot of smart people working here but they are not empowered to do their jobs right and often are expected to be yes-men. I had three bosses in less than 2 years and I had least. Cons: No leadership, crazy hours, mean clients and not sure they know what’s next."
Warehouse Associate (Current Employee) says"When I first started to work here everting was amazing. But as time passes so did managers many many many managers. There was never a set manager for more than 4 months the least was one week. The general manager does as he wants depending on his fond for you and not your work. If you contradict him he will yell at you humiliate you and in most cases fire you. Will never recommend anyone working here."
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) says"Worked in the call center and it felt like I was in bootcamp. Always getting coached for minor things and there was absolutely no culture. The morale was very low. Pay could definitely be higher for all the work that is done. Also, there is no compensation for speaking Spanish even though it is used regularly, only other languages were compensated for; not fair! Upper management should sit in for a day and realize CSRs do more than just answer phone calls. Something needs to change or they will end up without any CSRs. The department overall is under appreciated by the entire company and the workers can feel it. Cons: Micromanaging, not competitive pay, low morale, not appreciated"

Clients were constantly leaving them. Some good people. Mainly a first job type opportunity. CEO is an egomaniac as are most of the management. The person I reported to was creepy, incompetent, and unfair. Cons: Terrible culture"

Entire departments were restructured multiple times in my time there. Terrible communication between executives and Marketing/Brand Managers. Sales team often grossly exaggerated or lied about service costs and growth expectations. Clients left often, partly because they’d sign just about anybody. Cons: Executive team"
Administrating Assistant (Former Employee) says"Their was always work to do therefore the day would go fast, the girls i would work with, well made work so much fun. We all got along so well and he had the same issued with the managers and strategy they had. Many girls loved the environment but not how it was being run so many left very fast some didn't come back again after they saw wha we had to deal with. The work was easy but many weren't able to do. Cons: Great work environment"

This is all on top of him having almost zero hands-on experience for the past few jobs. Heard some pretty bad rumors where he basically burns bridge with anyone that departs his team. "Fake it 'till you make it" is this dude's life motto. Watch out."

Anybody notice the surplus of good reviews for June 2017? Super duper obvious fake reviews written by employees to boost ratings. Super high turnover because they don't put value in their employees. This is a relatively young company who is still figuring things out as they go. One Stop is a better company even though it's got its flaws. CEO Jan is this icky, sleazy guy who gives me the heebie jeebies when he's around. Ugh. Work with them at your own risk. You'll regret it."

Only under threat of litigation, did they finally release the money, when they did pay it was still short by almost 300$. I see this company post the same positions on linkedin and other outlets all the time, which is telling that there is a high turn-over rate. If they treat all employees with the same type of respect that they treated me and a few others on this board, then its not a surprise that this companies score is so low. Stear clear of this place. They'll grind you into the ground and then they might not pay you if they don't feel like it."
