Novus Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

Novus Media Inc. provides digital and print media advertising services. The Company offers media research, strategic planning, media buying, operations and logistics, reporting, and analysis. Novus Media operates in the State of Minnesota.

A former employee says, "Novus’ upper management has lost control of the ship and they are going down into the fire. They have had 4 major layoff events in the last 4-5 years. This is the sign of an EXTREMELY unhealthy organization whose senior leadership is running themselves into the ground. Every decision they make is reactive. It’s such a bummer because their talent is amazing! The message being conveyed is that “you should feel lucky you have a job” and not “we appreciate our employees”. Save yourself the heartbreak and DON’T accept an offer. Also - their entry level salaries are laughable."

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"I worked at Novus full-time Cons: - Employee's are not valued whatsoever - Acts like a good client partner but will secretly screw over a client in a second if it suits the bottom line - CEO and upper leadership breed a culture of distrust, anti-team, and back-stabbing - Employee's asked to forgo morals and values in order to keep their job - In denial that it is a fast sinking ship"

Former Employee - Director of Operations/Plymouth says

"I worked at Novus full-time for more than a year Cons: Very cliquey and toxic at mid-level Poor technology/tech leadership"

Former Employee - Digital says

"I worked at Novus full-time for more than a year Cons: - Terrible pay - Employee turnover rate was egregious - Leadership was toxic, some even bullied their teams/department but company didn't care as long as bullies brought in money - Novus had 5 huge layoffs in 4 years - Company responded to the COVID pandemic by withdrawing their 401K contributions in 2019 and huge salary cuts."

Former Employee - Digital Marketing says

"I worked at Novus full-time for more than a year Cons: -Low pay -Upper management lacks direction and a clear way forward -Upper management and leadership is aware of and allows harassment by whoever can make them money -If you have pre-existing relationships with partners in the industry, this company will damage them -Always trying to win “bottom of the barrel” businesses that are barely hanging on. When they fold and don’t pay, this company doesn’t pay. Expect to be harassed by collections. -Processes constantly in flux or not working properly"

Current Employee - Senior says

"I have been working at Novus full-time for more than 5 years Cons: Low compensation, non-competitive bonus/retirement structure, lack of internal promotion opportunity, failing business model with no legitimate source of future growth, no accountability, no clear direction, and a leadership team that is painfully clueless and making change just to make change."

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"I worked at Novus full-time for less than a year Cons: Terrible office environment, felt like a cliquey high school. Management was rude and disorganized. During my first week, my boss told me at least a dozen times she did not have time for me. They sat me in a corner all alone with no guidance or direction and expected me to fix all the problems they created."

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"I have been working at Novus full-time Cons: Employees are not valued (maybe a few favorites), management and communication is horrible. Company direction is unclear and never discussed by Sr. Management."

Former Employee - Region Coordinator says

"I worked at Novus full-time for more than a year Cons: -Low pay -Department was micromanaged like back in high school. Could only use cell phones before and after work hours or during lunch. -Could not leave 1 minute before 5PM. Had to be there 8AM sharp. -Quiet, awkward heads down department -Horrible management -No upward mobility but can move around (not much of a pay raise) -Boring robotic job. Will not be challenged. "Act" like you're busy and do not browse the web or you'll get in trouble. They will find you pointless tasks to do."

Former Employee - Analyst says

"I worked at Novus full-time for more than 3 years Cons: Terrible leadership, especially the CEO. They are trying to squeeze the last few bits of margin out of the DEAD (not dying) print industry."
