Motorola Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

Motorola, Inc. was an American multinational telecommunications company founded on September 25, 1928, based in Schaumburg, Illinois. After having lost $4.3 billion from 2007 to 2009, the company demerged into two independent public companies, Motorola Mobility and Motorola Solutions on January 4, 2011. Motorola Inc. was renamed Motorola Solutions.

Nadine shares her disapponting experience on, "So disappointed with the Motorola Remote Wireless Baby Monitor! It literally broke day 1 of using it with our newborn. The camera froze on zoom and wouldn't go back out despite attempts to restart. When I called Target to return the product they admitted that it was a very common problem and that most customers ended up exchanging the monitor. I would NOT buy this!"

Just interviewed (Former Employee) says

"The worst interview I’ve ever done in my life, the person who makes the interview can’t communicate effectively, no multicultural work environment, I have interviewed with 5 people, all of them are from the same background and culture which made me feel awkward when I interviewed, and one more thing I want to say to them, please please Motorolasolutions use to be a big name, and a good company why do you have your kids playing around while you are interviewing candidates, I felt overwhelmed and kept repeating myself!! It seems like HR needs a lot of work and improvement. Worst interview experience I can say. And the sad thing is that was their manager who has his kids yelling. Their Manager!Interviewed with 5 people at onceTo the interviewer KEEP YOUR KIDS AWAY when interviewing candidates, we put too much effort to find an opportunity to express interest and we like to be heard. Please"

"From my experience of over a year and a half there was little no no room for advancement. Only dry promises of openings and promotions of the same individuals. No path for success and lines are severly drawn according to what position you hold. Little to no opportunities for minority employees."

Human Resources (Former Employee) says

"CHRO has favorites, didn’t use survey data to make changes identified in survey, instead made her favorites bigger roles and now internal employees/managers get worse support from HR. Some in the HR org are only interested in helping themselves and will use any info shared to get themselves to a better position while stomping on others. Run from this company, do not walk."

"I worked from 6am to when ever they decided I could leave, which sometimes meant 9-10pm. I loved my co-workers but absolutely hated the management. If and when I saw them, even putting all those hours in and never leaving work behind, while working multiple departments, it was never enough and would continually be berated because I was just a contract worker."

"None stop layoffs, never knowing when you will be next. Horrible work environment and too many "managers" with not enough workers actually getting the work done. Corporate makes the bottom line look good by selling off all the property in Schaumburg. The company does not care about it's employees at all. It changed from an acceptable health insurance to a "private exchanged program" that tripled the out of pocket costs to get the equivalent coverage. The HR Director knew this new health plan was horrible and he left, now there is an Interim HR person in there blowing smoke.NoneEverything"

Current Employee - Sales Representative says

"See title of headline: lots of middle managers with spreadsheets"

Former Employee - NOC Technician says

"Sparse documentation along with "knowledge hoarders" make it a difficult work environment. President of co. is actively trying to sell the company, so cost cutting is paramount. They are working with 20+ year old technology (land based mobile radios) and are spending little to nothing on R&D."

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"There is little to no growth of any kind, and if you bring it up, you will be given the runaround."

Former Employee - Software Engineer says

"Employees are treated like useless tokens"

Current Employee - Senior Research Associate says

"One thing is always on-time at MSI: regular quarterly layoffs. I have been safe until now, but every quarter we have to be waiting for hearing the news. It was fine if they would let weak employees going, but most of the times it's just random or it's for those with higher pay or grade."

Current Employee - Principal Software Engineer says

"Leave this company as soon as possible. The top management is busy creating shareholder value by doing shares buyback to the tune of $12 billion, firing hard working employees who originally made this company great. The CEO still toot the horns of LMR (without even being part of this journey)but taking all the credit of how LMR is still relevant and growing. He and his management team take all the credit for it. With 15 years of employment the management are the Jewels but others are a "waste". They talk about leaderships? They still do now know the definition of being a leader."

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"Senior management only focuses on cutting costs via layoffs and outsourcing. No end in sight, it seems. People are highly demoralized due to never-ending layoffs and outsourcing"

Kyle from Motorola Solutions says

"Motorola Solutions is a has-been company dominating the dead-end and decaying market of walkie talkie radios (70\'s style tech) which failed to make a name in 4G and 5G. Now they\'re trying desperately to reinvent themselves as a software apps company but too little too late. They stopped with home grown R&D and instead try to cobble together a strategy with acquisitions. The inside joke however is that Motorola was a \"serial killer\", buying promising company after promising company and running them all into the dirt. Look at Twisted Pair, great innovative company completely destroyed by Motorola Solutions. Furthermore the big reckoning is coming. Their stock price is based on margin returns of lucrative and high-margin walkie-talkie business, but (oops) that\'s a declining and dead end business. So trying to replace those high margins that inflate the stock price, with low-margin commodity things like body worn cameras, or surveillance video (lots of competitors), or say apps, will mean lower margins. A few years back a company called Citron Report predicted a crash for Motorola Solutions stock. They were absolutely correct, just some years too early. Like a bulimic fatso this company is going to crash and burn in around 2022 or 2023 once the LMR / walkie-talkie business starts nose-diving as replacement cycles start killing off their legacy client base. If you have stock, walk away soon. Bloodbath on the stock price ahead, unfortunately due to lack of strategic vision a once great American icon is being slowly destroyed and will become the Zenith TV of the telecom market quite soon."

Steve Harper says

"Motorola were good before they adopted the Lenovo "produce as much poorly produced rubbish as possible and employ stupid people policy. My Motorola G Power cant connect or even recognise the WIFI, literally every other device in the house does including other mobile phones. According to the cretins who dealt with my complaint, the problem is my WIFI despite me telling them several times that the only device which isn't connecting is their toy phone. Having had an awful experience with Lenovo a few years ago where they sent me three or four laptops with exactly the same issue i should have listened to my gut instinct telling me not to touch their poor products with a barge pole If they did create a bargepole it would probably dissolve in water or break. Lets hope Lenovo or Motorola aren't involved (even indirectly)in vaccine technology or we are all going to be dead"

Aaron Wade says

"I ordered a phone that was supposed to be next day air, phone has yet to arrive. The order has yet to ship. Will not order from them again."

Tabraiz says

"Please do yourself a favor and do not buy a Motorola phone. It's not just because of the technical issues their phones have but their complete lack of customer service and failure to listen to customers concern."

lukman says

"I wish i had read these reviews before purchasing. Purchased a mobile on the motorola site - has a time limited promotional offer you can apply for after you receive the phone. Site suggests delivery 2 working days after purchase is processed. Great. Tried to place the order - failed. MasterCard blocked it - not Motorola's fault. However, trying to call motorola sales/customer service was of no use. get through to automated system that asks you to leave a number and someone will get back to you in 24 hours. no worries - cleared things up with mastercard, cancelled the order on motorola account page and placed a new order. MasterCard account shows payment successful. Motorola account page - still shows it as processing payment several hours later. raised a support ticket via online chat service- gentleman who helped said on his end it looks like payment is successful and the order is awaiting someone to "awaiting authorisation for dispatch" but now a nervous wait to see if they'll process my order in time for me to qualify for the promotional offer and if the promotional offer stocks will still be available when / if they do process my order. why, in this day and age, does an order that has been successfully paid for need some manual authorisation for dispatch? stock counts are all digitally managed, orders, you'd hope, are digitally processed - why would a status continue to say "processing payment" and not move to "processing order for dispatch" in a customer facing page? it's not that hard. not a good start. --- update --- after that experience, the orders page continued to show a christmas eve delivery date but on the 23rd december it was still not dispatched. I spoke to Motorola only to be told that dispatches wouldn't happen until some time mid january... yet the order page continued to suggest my order would be delivered on christmas eve. i placed a cancellation and went with amazon instead.... will never again use the motorola site to place a direct order again."

Matthew Hamilton says

" offers two lines of customer service. There is the immediate customer service level -- their operators are as helpful as they can be, calling you back with updates and explaining as much as they can. The executive team in customer service, on the other hand, is a different story. For example, if the shipper that an executive team selects loses a package in delivery and therefore the customer never receives it, motorola executives think its perfectly fine to hold their money and not ship out a product until their shipper starts, conducts, and completes an investigation into the loss. The loss can have nothing to do with the customer -- in my case I have documented proof that I could not be in the building on the day the package was delivered as my lease expired the preceding day. Furthermore their shipper (UPS) was updated by of the change in delivery address the day before and UPS's own records show a delivery address change was made the preceding night to the delivery. Yet UPS delivered to the old address anyways. What's more the package required signature and it was not provided. Yet motorola continues to hold my money and not issue me another cellphone. Who is this fair to? UPS and Motorola. UPS -- a simple examination of the facts shows I couldn't have been at the delivery address when delivery was supposed to occur. I had a new address, apartment, and I had motorola update ups with the address the day prior. Motorola -- their bargain was made. they exchanged a cell phone for $438. i paid. but i didnot select the shipper and that recklessness is Motorolas fault entirely. UPS reports needing 8 to 10 business days to investigate a lost package, it's now day 11 and Motorola doesn't care. It has my money. It doesn't care at all about its customer."

Mike Walker says

"My Z4 has never worked wright yet. Can't get a appointment to get it fixed They have called l numerous times butt can't fix it. The phone has so many glitches. So unhappy with Motorola the worst service."

Dan Dunn says

"I'm on my second motorola phone and six months in the phone sensors failed blacking out my ability to place calls. They refuse to honor the warranty. They say you should have insurance and make your claim there. Even though the internet is filled with customer complaints of my same issues. Their employees apologize for their inability to help saying it's Motorola policy. Beware and don't subject yourself to the immoral abuse of this thieving company."

Bulova says

"I'm on my third Moto Edge first one was getting hot. Second one had screen issues and the sim got stuck in the phone lost sim and sd card. Third one the sim and sd card are stuck in it as well. Motorola claims there are no defects but I say otherwise. Especially with the same thing happening twice. Motorola quality is in the trash but their prices aren't."

Nicocallie says

"Bought Moto G Stylus. Worst phone ever. WiFi doesn't work and have tried every single way of checking it."

Sue R says

"Absolutely terrible website experience. Tried to buy a phone, but the payment screen said it couldn't verify my card number (which I HAD entered correctly). Entered information three times, then entered another card number, screen still said it couldn't verify number. I have never had this trouble before. Each time I clicked on "the number is correct" and finally got through to "pay now" it then said my bank rejected it. One was a business card, one a personal, both with sufficient funds, so no reason to reject. Contact Motorola? No chance. No customer service number for Motorola sales, one number on the website is incorrect - it goes through to "baby monitors". On speaking to them, they said they keep getting calls about other products and had told Motorola about the incorrect number, but nothing has been done about it. Web chat? What is this "sign up to Moli first"? I've never come across this in any other webchat, and why on earth should it all be made so difficult? Gave up in despair and purchased phone from Amazon, because I know from previous experience that you can contact them if there are any issues with an order. I would give zero stars if possible."

Ricky Wright says

"WHY DOES MY MOTOROLA ONE VISION HANG UP FOR NO REASON? Having your Motorola One Vision hanging up for no reason while you are on the phone is really annoying. In addition to stopping your chat, it can also waste a lot of your time. When you call a friend, it is not too embarrassing to call them back and resume the discussion where you were, but when it is a professional and important call it is much more complex and problematic to go back to the switchboard and wait before having your call partner again. Finally, the last really unpleasant point of a Motorola One Vision that cuts communication for no reason , it is when you are on the phone with customer service, you have already waited several tens of minutes in order to have someone on the phone, and while you are explaining your concern the call is chopped off… MY MOTOROLA ONE VISION HANGS UP FOR NO REASON BECAUSE OF A TOUCH PROBLEM do not buy #MOTOROLA #PRODUCTS 2020 pure #crap #bad #ux #genZ"

Leu Pcholka says

"I do not like that Motorola cellphones BECAUSE IT DOES NOT RING WHEN NEED TO! Phone has very complex setup and short cuts for making ring OFF which accidentally take places to be ON (pressing volume or power button in combination with other buttons and so on). PHONE MUST RING ALWAYS unless I turn off the hardwired switch off. I do not need all those luxury that make me fired on work or looking damn because I cannot setup my phone ring. It doesn't not mutter that I manage to ring then next day or two phone will find the excuse do not ring again. I am dreaming to brake my phone by hammer in thouthand and thouthand Peace's. I will very enjoy by doing it. Because both Motorola phones (1-st died in 6 month) just ruin my life."

paul campion says

"Moto G7 Power stopped working would not start, spent 2 days with tec dept and downloading soft ware which would not work as phone wouldn't start up. Sent it back, 2 weeks later they don't know where my phone is even though it was there DHL label to them in Norwich. had 4 different complaint codes none linked and emails saying trust not heard from you trust is all ok......I have sent over 10 emails. NO Phone and very unhappy"

Sukhminder Gurm says

"I am a Motorola fan. But my recent experience with Motorola. Co. Uk was not very pleasant. I order my phone and payment is gone but no sign of my order, no tracking information at all. I tried to chat to the customer service but they did not get any information about my order. I had to cancel the order and requested for the refund. Now waiting for the refund from them. Just don't order on"

Mark Johnson says

"I hear so many problems with the Motorola edge and The edge Plus as well.about the screen is issues issues after issues and Motorola plays dumb I am not going to buy one until I know it's perfected I cannot afford to purchase something that will go in the garbage in no time. I would recycle it if it needed it. That's why I will wait until Motorola gets there brains together. I've been buying Motorola products since I was a little guy I'm very loyal to Motorola but not right now :-( I will keep my Motorola phone until they get their act together for a change because I want a 5G phone and I love the screen that I see that people have but too many defects and they're not doing anything about it. Oh that's right they keep saying there's an update coming what century will that be???"
