Mental Health Technician (Former Employee) says

"Has no concern for the safety of the patients or staff. Have seen patients call out for help and be ignored and tie garments around their necks and have had to cut them off and nothing done to the staff working the unit."

Therapist Intern (Former Employee) says

"I have nothing nice to say. This place set up their workers to fail with unrealistic work load and expectations. With the number of needy psychotic patients on the unit, amount of paper work and tasks. One never gets done in a day. What we understand to be a 8am to 5pm salaried becomes a 7am to 7pm or 9pm. Hire for Monday through Friday that become anyday of the week. Not a good place if you're trying to balance work and family."

"Poorly ran. Management is very poor. Under staffed. It your not management favorite you don’t stand a chance. The staff that are left are very overwhelmed."

Psychiatric Registered Nurse (Former Employee) says

"New hires are forced to get on board in a fast way and the employees are sour and not willing to give on the job training when you are paired with them. They complain and state they all want to leave. The employees run off the new hires and there is unfounded and gossip that goes to the top of the ladder. In orientation I was pulled into HR by my supervisor with out a word to me as to why. Turned out it was gossip and unfounded lies by staff. Very unwelcoming and treacherous. Staff argues with new hires and calls the supervisor on them if they don't understand or have questions. Expected to learn the ropes in less than time expectancy or was told i'd be fired by a supervisor whom was not qualified and 1/2 my age. Texted by my supervisor on my lunch break to come back to work when it was not even over and then in the text reminded that it was only 30 minutes!! Talked to like an imbeceile. When coming into work the compliance officer was speaking to a staff member and when I spoke to a coworker she called me aside and stated that i was having a lengthy conversation after 5 mins and said i was speaking inappropriately to my coworker which was not true. So she was just nosey and rude as though she could take time to speak but no one else could meet and greet when coming in the door. Very uncomfortable enviornment and petty place to work. Heated angry people. You can't just do your job without a person wanting to broad side you in some way or another. Too much politics and very messy. I have heard people state that they would come into the office to see another employee if Cons: disrespectful coworkers"

"Hostile work environment created through bullying by the CEO and other department managers. Very unethical, financially driven organization which practices are supported and fostered by HR and the Corporate Office"

"This is the worst place to work, stay away!!!! They do not care about your safety or the patient's safety at all. Under staffed to the core. They only care about how many days the patient has left on their insurance. Don't do it please!!! You have been warned!!!! Cons: everything upon walking through the door."

"Dont trust the safety of your loved ones at this place. I had a drug problem 32 years ago. Went to college educated myself. Applied for a job. HR and CEO were aware of my past as I have always been honest. Went through 3 interviews. Two days before Orientation was to start I was called to HR. I was laughed at and judged. They threw the paperwork in my face from 32 years ago and laughed at my poor choices. They hammered me with questions for over 45 minutes. I told them I was no longer that person. I was honest from the start. How can Kingwood Pines claim to help people with drug and mental health issues when they laugh at people whom have overcome their addictions, obtained a 4 year degree, worked at other hospitals and have excellent references? These people literally laughed at me all the way down the hall as they escorted me to the door. Cons: Bad Management"

"The company is a company that is out for self and self only.They don't value the long term employees that they have. They don't listen to feed back from the employees."

"There is no job security, if something goes wrong you can guarantee that they will fire you and anyone else just to cover their selves even if you weren't responsible for the problem. I saw at least 50 people get fired within 9 months"

"Just don't even do it. They have the worst management, they can' even get management to stay. If you want to hate you life and your job, then defintely get a job at the pines."

Nurse (Former Employee) says

"The pay is the lowest I have every had, chronically understaffed and over worked. Someone files "safe harbor" at least once a week. They will make you do M.A.R. reconciliation on up to 38 patients in the evening, as well as give the patient's their medications, do q15 minute rounds and chart. Yes you can get overtime, but at what a price. If you value your hard earned license, it's not worth it. Cons: To many to List"

"Kingwood pines mission statement we change lives that’s is an understatement Kingwood uses people vulnerability to take advantage of them sending accounts to bad debt without following companies policy HIPPA Violations they have an dishonest people working for them management is made aware and do not take any actions the bottle line is money not the welfare of the patients and their families"

"Kingwood Pines would admit a stray dog if if had health insurance they could abuse. Intake staff exaggerate clinical descriptions to meet insurance criteria for an admission. If you have come for an assessment, be ready to be put on an involuntary hold - remember, you have insurance money this corporate tentacle and their stakeholders need."

"This is not a good place to work. The management is terrible and they do not support their employees. you can be hired on Monday and fired within the next 30 days. Working at this place is a waste of time and energy. If you are thinking about applying there.....YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.........RUN. Cons: Very Cliquish, Poor Upper level managemnt"

"KPH was probably the worst place I've ever worked, and somehow I managed to last 5 years there. I guess the patients kept me from leaving, my love for them was grand. My coworkers (the few I enjoyed) were cool. But administration was a mess, they were never around and only appeared when corporate or joint commission came around, it was filthy at the end because they decided to outsource their housekeeping to some immigrants women didn't really care and spent the entire time gossiping (the cleaning staff they had before was immaculate) Cons: Everything else"

"Did not feel safe due to patients being aggressive and little tech/ nurse presence. Groups were difficult to hold due to little help from staff and disruptive clients. Little training for social workers to provide groups, and little training for doing assessments and discharge planning. Hospital kept shuffling patients around from unit to unit due to financial reasons and this was disruptive to milieu. Doctors did not seem to listen to patients, and one doctor would deliberately upset patients to make them show symptoms and extend their stay. Cons: understaffed and poor management support, did not have adequate supplies for therapists, nurses, and restrictive rules for patients as far as drinks and snacks"

"Most of the staff are friendly and look out for each other. Management is always looking out for management. If something goes wrong management will NOT stand behind its employees but will throw them under the bus every time."

"This place has a high turnover rate due to cut throat tactics by management. It’s always someone else’s fault. Never mind the fact that training is limited here. They would rather throw you to the wolves."

"Moved from unit to unit when census dictated it. Company gave therapists limited resources to do hard job. Few workers and too many patients. Felt unsafe there."
